> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.

Review: November 15, 2024 Completion: November 19, 2024

It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.

Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.

Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.

This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!

I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.

Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.

Review: August 25, 2007 Completion: April 27, 2007

I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.

Review: June 2, 2006 Completion: July 25, 2005

Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in New Milford

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in New Milford, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in New Milford.

Will a metal roof handle Connecticut's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum's oxide layer actually strengthens with temperature swings rather than degrading. New Milford experiences roughly 90 freeze-thaw days per year plus about 87 cm of snow, conditions that crack asphalt and split wood shingles. Aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without fracturing. The four-way interlocking panels accommodate thermal movement while the Alunar® 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM D4214) resists salt spray and moisture absorption that would trap ice inside traditional materials.

How does a metal roof perform under New Milford's snow load?

Metal roofing sheds snow more reliably than asphalt because its smooth, slippery surface prevents ice dams from forming in the way organic materials do. With roughly 87 cm of annual snowfall and gusts reaching 119 km/h, the Interlock panels' interlocking seams and lightweight design (the Shake profile weighs only 0.58 lb/sq ft) mean no structural reinforcement is required—the roof carries the load without overloading your framing. Snow guards can be added to manage release on steep pitches if preferred.

Can metal roofing withstand Connecticut wind gusts?

Interlock metal roofing is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification—well above New Milford's typical gust extremes of 119 km/h. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels create a unified structural system that distributes uplift forces across the entire roof plane rather than relying on individual fasteners. This design, combined with proper installation per ESR-1790 (the ICC-ES evaluation report reissued 2025), means your roof will remain secure even during the occasional nor'easter.

Will heavy rain cause leaks in a metal roof?

Aluminum cannot rust—it's not ferrous metal. Unlike steel roofing, which corrodes from the inside out when scratched, aluminum develops a self-healing oxide layer. New Milford receives about 1,158 mm of rain annually, but the four-way interlocking seams and factory-applied Alunar® PVDF finish on both sides of every panel (extra protection against moisture) mean water is shed by geometry, not sealant. Properly installed Interlock panels over a solid deck virtually eliminate the leak paths that plague asphalt shingles.

Why don't aluminum roofs rust like steel ones do?

Aluminum contains no iron—rust requires iron oxide to form. The material is instead protected by its own naturally forming oxide layer, which self-heals when scratched, meaning micro-damage doesn't become a corrosion pathway. This matters in New Milford's wet climate (about 1,158 mm annual rainfall, 87 cm snow) where moisture is constant. The Alunar® coating, applied to both panel sides and warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, adds a fluorocarbon barrier that resists salt spray and acidic rain. Steel roofing, by contrast, requires continuous maintenance to prevent rust perforation.

Is a metal tile roof heavy enough to require roof reinforcement?

No—the Interlock Tile profile is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, weighing only 0.59 lb/sq ft, so no structural reinforcement is necessary. Many existing roof frames that cannot support traditional tile can accept Interlock without modification, and the system installs directly over your current roof. This lightweight advantage also means lower labor costs (no tearoff required) and faster installation. Your home's structure isn't penalized for choosing the aesthetic of tile; instead, your framing is relieved of the burden traditional materials impose.

Does a metal roof hold up to hail, and can it lower insurance costs?

Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. In New Milford's climate with occasional severe storms, this durability can qualify you for homeowner insurance discounts; contact your agent with the UL 2218 rating to explore savings. Unlike asphalt shingles that dent and lose granules, or clay tiles that crack, aluminum's strength means hail causes cosmetic marking at worst, not structural compromise.

Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Metal roofing is the last roof you'll buy, while asphalt typically requires replacement every 15–20 years. The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited material warranty for the original owner (non-prorated) and transferable for 50 years to the next owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—defects that force premature asphalt replacement. Over a 50-year horizon, you avoid multiple tearoff and landfill cycles. Current promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. That initial investment becomes economical when you never replace it again.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need?

Minimal—aluminum requires no patching, sealing, or recoating like asphalt or wood shingles. New Milford's roughly 3,074 annual sunshine hours mean your roof is exposed to significant UV, yet the Alunar® 70% PVDF coating (30-year warranty against fading per ASTM D2244) resists degradation. Occasional debris removal and gutter cleaning are your only tasks. Compare this to asphalt shingles, which require roof-mounted sealant reapplication every 5 years, or wood shakes, which split and curl in the freeze-thaw cycle (about 90 days per year locally). Metal outlasts maintenance-intensive alternatives by decades.

Can a metal roof actually reduce cooling costs?

Yes—Interlock's energy-efficient colors feature thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile), meaning the roof reflects rather than absorbs the heat that asphalt absorbs and radiates into your attic. With New Milford averaging about 3,074 sunshine hours per year, this reflectance reduces cooling demand in summer. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms the energy benefit. While Connecticut winters are cold, the insulation value is in your attic, not your roof; the reflective benefit applies year-round to reduce thermal load. Combined with the current 10% installation discount, energy savings compound over the roof's 50+ year life.
