What our customers are saying:
Everybody was great to work with highly professional. Any underlying damage was all taken care of and we love the roof.
> We had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan Brown at the Mohegan Sun Home Show and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to tell him how happy we are with our Interlock roof of ~20 years. We constantly receive compliments from people passing by on how beautiful it looks. Most of all, we appreciate the peace of mind it gives us—knowing we’ll never have to replace our roof, thanks to the lifetime warranty and guaranteed protection against leaks.
Jonathan was great help getting us all the information needed for the roof and what to expect, and the whole process. The installation was fast, the roofers were hard working and professional. The look of the metal roof is superb!
It was a pleasure working with Interlock from beginning to end. The back office was good about setting expectations for job start and duration, delivery of materials (which happened on time) and work to be performed. They were also good about making adjustments to work with trim that needed to be replaced, etc. The crew that did the install and cleanup was very professional and hard working. I am extremely satisfied with the end result and would definitely recommend Interlock! This is actually my second roof, I had one installed on a different property 20 years ago and it has held the test of time with virtually no maintenance.
What a beautiful roof. We are so happy and now we have a forever roof. Thank you. Techs were great. Positive: Punctuality, Quality Services: Roof installation
Salesman was very courteous and polite. Straight forward no hype or fluff. Company kept constant contact, took care of the required building permits. Had the dumpster and materials delivered on time and removed quickly. The crew was phenomenal, polite courteous. Explained everything, and was very conscientious about their work. If the the nail didn't go in the way he liked he pulled it and did it right. Nailing was all done by hand. Roof has been great since no issues and still looks great. Over all very pleased and well worth the money.
Couldn’t have chosen a better product, it’s been 2 years since installation and have absolutely no issues. The house is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Speaking of winter it’s only a matter of hours after a snow storm that all the snow slides right off, no more ice dams and ice filled gutters. The installers were awesome had the entire roof done in a day and a half and cleaned up prior to leaving. We love our Interlock roof.
This letter has been a long time in coming. My husband and I had an Interlock Roof installed in November 2009 and have been meaning to tell you how pleased we are with the look of the new roof and the service provided by the installers ~ Nazaar and Vitality. We’ve gotten many questions and compliments from friends, neighbors and passersby. Both our home and detached garage needed to be re-roofed, with both requiring removal of the old roofing material and the installation of plywood before applying the Interlock product. We were originally told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the job to be completed. To our amazement, the job was completed within a week’s time and that included inclement weather! Nazaar and Vitaliy put in very long days, were very polite, honored their commitments and ALWAYS cleaned everything up before they left for the day. We have children and a dog and found not one nail in the yard after the job was completed. Based on this experience and a product that speaks for itself, we would definitely recommend an Interlock Roof!
I wish to thank " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">Interlock Industries, Inc. for a great roofing system. I'm 100% satisfied and it has a clean and beautiful look. It's great! It's wonderful to know the roof never need replacement again. I also wish to thank Bob Allen, Jerry and Paul McAllister for being so helpful in completing the work. I know this " target="\_blank" rel="noopener">roof system was right when we met Bob Allen the first time, he explained everything in detail. Everything he said was correct. The men who did the work were polite and respectiful, and were clean and neat in the work process. Thank you guys. I would recommend an Interlock Roof for every home, or any building and the long term ">cost is less than another roof system.
Sorry I didn’t get this to you sooner, but I just wanted to drop you a line on the excellent installation of my roof by Nazar and Sergei. They installed our roof in February and never let the harsh weather affect their attention to detail and their determination to do quality work. I was very fortunate to get these two Ukrainian gentlemen as my installers.
I am writing to tell you how much my wife and I are satisfied with our new roof from Interlock Roofing. Our old asphalt shingles were showing the effects of time both aesthetically and functionally. Most noticeably was the water mark on the living room ceiling that just kept growing with each passing rain. We certainly weren't looking forward to buying a new roof, since we were still paying for our wedding six months before, but knew we had to do something soon. I mentioned to Dawn that I had heard metal roofs were becoming popular because of how long they last; but she was concerned our home would look like a fast food restaurant, a factory, or even worse a tin roof barn. She made it clear that a modern looking metal roof would ruin the look of our 1860s vintage home. I said I thought I had seen a couple of years ago a house that was done with what I thought the sign said was metal but looked like shingles instead of ridged sheets she pictured. The problem was I couldn't remember the name of the roofer – just that they had an orange sign. A friend of our mentioned there was a Home Show coming up in Worchester and we figured it would be fun to look around and dream about improvements we could make. As we walked the aisles, I saw your familiar orange sign and product display booth. I said to Dawn look at this! This looks really nice – it looks just like " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate! Wouldn't that look really great on our house! Two weeks later, you explained what made Interlock Roofing different from other materials and the lifetime " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty helped us feel confident in making what was for us a major purchase decision. Although an Interlock roof might cost more initially, we think it is well worth it knowing we will never have to buy another roof for this home again. Your company and crews are great! A representative called to let us know materials were being delivered and when they arrived they were neatly stored out of the way until the work began. A supervisor called to let us know when the work would begin, and except for two days of rain which delayed their start, the job was completed within the estimated three days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up after themselves and when the job was competed they raked up any pieces that may have been missed in the grass. The completed roof looks great and enhances the appearance of our home. We have had many people stop and compliment us on it and at least one had already installed an Interlock roof of their own. Should we ever move from this home in the future, one of the features we will look for is an Interlock roof or plan on upgrading to one in our new home as well.
Just wanted to let you know that we are very satisfied with the aluminum interlocking roof which was installed in July of 2005. It was amazing to us how quickly and efficiently your men worked in removing our old asphalt layers of roof and installing the new one. Needless to say, we were very impressed with their work as well as our new roof! Unfortunately, during installation of the roof, damage was done to the interior ceiling of our dining room. Interlock did respond and the damaged area was repaired in a timely manner. Unfortunately our existing ceilings are plaster and the repaired area was done in wallboard which simply do not match. In order for this to be repaired properly, the entire ceiling has to be repainted with a light texture. Whatever you can do to help rectify the pending repair to the interior ceiling would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to speaking with you in the near future. Once again, thank you for offering us the opportunity to upgrade our home with an outstanding roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Plymouth
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Plymouth, Connecticut. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Plymouth.
Will freeze-thaw cycles damage a metal roof in Connecticut winters?
No — aluminum's oxide layer actually self-heals when scratched, making it immune to freeze-thaw damage that degrades asphalt and wood shingles. Plymouth experiences about 72 freeze-thaw cycles annually and roughly 65 cm of snow, conditions that crack traditional materials as water enters micro-gaps and expands. Because Interlock panels are solid aluminum (ASTM B209 3105-H24 alloy) with no porous substrate, water cannot penetrate and refreeze inside the material. The four-way interlocking design sheds water away from fasteners before it can pool. Over decades of similar climates, the product has proven durable without material degradation from thermal cycling.
Do I need snow guards or special installation for Connecticut's snow load?
Snow guards are optional and depend on roof pitch and your preference. Plymouth receives about 65 cm of snow annually, and the lightweight Interlock panels (Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft, Shake at 0.58 lb/sq ft) shed snow efficiently due to their smooth, hard-anodized surface and sloped panel design. Unlike heavy slate or tile, the aluminum won't sag under snow weight, so no structural reinforcement is required. The metal surface naturally resists ice bonding compared to asphalt. If icicle formation is a concern in your location, snow guards can be installed without modification to the roofing system itself — they simply stop slides at eaves. Your local installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc., can recommend placement based on your specific roof geometry and exposure.
Can a metal roof withstand Connecticut's wind gusts?
Yes — Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, well above Plymouth's typical gust speeds (which reach about 126 km/h or 78 mph based on regional averages). The four-way interlocking system means each panel locks into its neighbors on all four sides, distributing wind load across the roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. This design has passed UL testing and is documented in the ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025). Even in severe storm conditions, the panels remain secure. Unlike asphalt shingles, which can lift and tear in sustained wind, metal panels create a unified, rigid surface that sheds wind pressure. This durability also often reduces insurance premiums — check with your carrier about wind-resistance discounts.
Does a metal roof hold up in hail, and can it lower my insurance costs?
Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 means the panels withstand repeated impacts from steel balls 1.5 inches in diameter dropped from 20 feet without cracking or loss of impact resistance. This superior performance often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because hail claims are rare. By contrast, asphalt shingles typically achieve Class 2 or 3 and degrade with each impact, while slate or tile can crack or shatter under heavy hail. Your insurance agent can review Interlock's impact rating and warranty documentation to determine discount eligibility. Over a 50+ year roof life in a region where severe hail is possible, this protection becomes a significant financial advantage.
Will a metal roof reduce cooling costs in summer?
energy-efficient Interlock colors reduce cooling costs by reflecting heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt shingles do. Cool Roof Rating Council-rated finishes achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning they bounce solar radiation away and emit absorbed heat quickly. Plymouth averages about 3134 sunshine hours per year, so this reflective benefit compounds across thousands of hours annually. On a typical summer day, an asphalt roof can reach 65–75°C while a reflective metal roof stays 15–25°C cooler, reducing the heat load entering your attic and living spaces. Your air conditioning system runs less, lowering energy bills. Metal also cools rapidly at dusk, whereas asphalt and tile radiate stored heat into the night. The energy savings typically appear within the first year and accumulate over the roof's 50+ year lifespan.
What warranty comes with a metal roof, and is it transferable?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner, who receives 50 years of coverage from completion, making it a powerful resale asset. This structure reflects the product's actual lifespan — Interlock has been manufactured since 1998 and installed in climates ranging from salt-air coastal regions to Antarctica, proving durability across 25+ years. By comparison, asphalt shingles carry 20–25 year warranties and typically require replacement after that window closes; you'll likely buy asphalt three times during an Interlock roof's life. The non-prorated element means you're not paying a percentage of repair costs — Interlock covers defects entirely. This warranty, combined with Plymouth's 72 annual freeze-thaw cycles and moderate weather, means your roof will outlast three generations of typical alternatives.
Can metal roofing be installed over my existing roof?
Yes — most existing roofs can be covered without removal, saving time and landfill impact. Interlock's lightweight panels (Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft, Mediterranean Tile at 0.59 lb/sq ft — about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile) exert minimal additional load on your home's structure, so reinforcement is typically unnecessary. The local installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc., will assess your existing roof's condition to confirm it's stable enough to serve as a base. The installation process involves securing a solid deck and underlayment (which also eliminates rain noise), then fastening the interlocking panels in sequence. Installation typically takes 2–5 days depending on roof size and complexity. The solid deck and underlayment provide both the structural base and a secondary water barrier, making the system robust even in Plymouth's 1232 mm annual rainfall. Avoid roof removal unless the existing surface is severely compromised.
Are metal roofs really more sustainable than asphalt?
Yes — Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, whereas asphalt shingles are typically landfilled. Over a 50-year span in Plymouth (with its 65 cm annual snowfall and 1232 mm rain promoting earlier asphalt degradation), a homeowner installing asphalt will tear off and landfill three roofs; the same homeowner installs Interlock once and recycles it. The aluminum alloy (ASTM B209 3105-H24) retains its material properties indefinitely through recycling cycles, whereas asphalt degrades during manufacturing and cannot be recovered. Interlock's non-prorated lifetime warranty also reduces unnecessary replacement cycles driven by perceived end-of-life, further reducing waste. The product is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, meaning no periodic seal-coating or shingle replacement strips asphalt shingles require. By choosing aluminum, you eliminate three roof tear-offs, three landfill deposits, and decades of maintenance chemicals — a tangible reduction in your home's lifetime environmental footprint.
Is a metal roof fire-resistant?
Interlock aluminum is non-combustible and Class A fire-rated, the highest fire classification available. Aluminum cannot burn because it lacks the carbon and hydrogen compounds that fuel combustion; it's the same material used in aircraft fuselages and high-rise building exteriors. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025) documents this non-combustible status for code compliance. In Connecticut's building codes, a Class A roof significantly reduces fire-spread risk across a structure and may lower homeowner's insurance premiums — contact your insurer to confirm. By contrast, asphalt shingles are Class C or B rated and can propagate flames during wildfires or severe external fire exposure. Although Connecticut's climate is not arid, this protection becomes valuable if you live near forested areas or during dry summer periods. The non-combustibility also means Interlock is the preferred choice for homes in high-risk zones or where insurance requirements demand superior fire resistance.
How much maintenance does a metal roof require compared to asphalt or wood?
Metal roofs require virtually no maintenance — no annual seal-coating, no shingle replacement, no fungicide treatments. Asphalt shingles demand sealing every 3–5 years and individual shingle replacement as they curl and crack under Plymouth's 72 annual freeze-thaw cycles. Wood shakes require fungicide and preservative reapplication every 5–7 years to resist mold and rot in the region's 1232 mm annual rainfall. Interlock's hard-anodized aluminum surface is self-cleaning; rain naturally washes debris away, and the Alunar 70% PVDF finish (30-year warranty against chalking) resists algae and weathering. The CALGreen-verified design formally documents reduced maintenance needs. Over 50 years, asphalt or wood homeowners invest thousands in labor and materials; Interlock owners invest essentially nothing. The non-prorated warranty covers any defects that might arise, so you'll never pay out-of-pocket for manufacturing issues. This maintenance-free reality translates directly to lower lifetime cost and peace of mind.
