What our customers are saying:
From the start to finish, we loved their work and communication. There were no nails, metal bits, or excessive noise. They listened to all questions and addressed our concerns. They were careful to make no promise of a start date that they could not fulfill. The rain this year made it hard to predict! I would do a commercial for them free to endorse their work and product!
Hi Peter, we wanted to convey to you how much we love our new Interlock roof! Several of our neighbors and friends have said they do, too! We love the look of it, and are so impressed with how beautifully finished it is integrated into the flashing materials. The Interlock scheduling staff was great to work with, and we are so happy with Jessie and his Interlock installation team. They are true craftsmen, and part artists! We loved how they treated our home with respect, and were always willing to address any questions we had. We watched as they worked on items until they had them just right; when we asked about some areas of concern multiple members of the installation team converged on the item and came down to explain and even illustrate with photographs how it was addressed. Again, we couldn't be happier and are enjoying our Interlock roof!
To: Peter Brylinke My Interlock Shake style system was installed in June of 2019. We have now had it for an entire year and experienced the roof through all season, climate and weather conditions. Not only do we value the new look of our roof but the performance of the new roof has been exceptional. In the winter we have seen the snow pile up on it only to slide off as soon as the sun warms it enough. We have noticed a difference in the summers also with a cooler house. The roof has met all of our expectations and we are extremely happy with our decision to install this roof. Last summer when the workers were working on the roof, we were so pleased with the time and effort the workmen put into making sure all aspects of our roof were taken care of. They were courteous, hard working, respectful and considerate of our needs as homeowners. Carlos was instrumental in making sure that we were happy with every aspect of the work that was being done. In closing, we are very impressed with our roof and have recommended this same system to many people we know and many people who just " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by and ask about it. We feel that we have made a great decision in putting this system on our home. ">" alt="Minneapolis MN 55409 Interlock Roof" width="2560" height="1920" />
Dear Peter, Thank you for your help with the installation and warranty transfer of our interlock roof. We have since sold our house and had good feedback about our roof from potential buyers. Neighbors loved our new roof and we had people drive by and actually snap pictures of it! You were right that the new roof would help sell our home! Thanks for all your help!
Dear Peter, I had Interlock Roofing install my black slate roof in the fall one year ago, and I couldn’t be happier! My roof still looks like new, and really stands out in my neighborhood. My old asphalt shingle roof was leaking. I had to shovel it every time it snowed because of " title="ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">ice dams in my older 1950’s house. I have had no issues at all with my new Interlock roof. It was so nice only to have to shovel my driveway this winter and not worry about snow on the roof. It all just slid off in only a few days after each snowfall. Also, the team that you had out to install my roof was exceptional. I was very impressed with the quality of the team that installed my roof. They were all very polite and worked well together as a team. They worked very hard, and got the job done, and completed in less than three days. I’ve never had to have anyone come back to fix or touch anything up. Thank you for the great job the Interlock team did to replace my roof. I would recommend Interlock to anyone needing a new roof without hesitation!
Dear Peter, We remain delighted with our new Interlock roof. It’s now been through 2 Minnesota winters, a hailstorm, and several rain deluges and is still the top-notch performer that you said it would be. Thank you for your and Interlock’s integrity throughout the sale, installation, and service of our roofing project. We remain convinced that Interlock is indeed “the Midwest’s Best Roof”.
Dear Peter, I Wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my new Interlock roof. It looks terrific, and I am anticipating that I will never have to roof rake my roof again now that your product has been installed. My house is small, a 3-bedroom rambler, but the visual impact the Interlock roof has added makes it look like a castle! All of the contact I have had with your personnel, from yourself to the lead foreman on the job and the men doing the install was pleasant and professional. The cleanup after the job was done was great and it only took 1-1/2 days for a complete tear-off to complete the installation. Please use this letter as a personal recommendation for your company and your product.
Dear Peter, Installing the Interlock roof on our home has completely transformed and improved our home’s appearance. The installation of the roof along with the greatly improved flashings have made a great difference. Because of that, our stucco was able to match our home so we look like new. An improvement I didn’t expect was the change in temperature of our second floor. Usually unbearable " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">hot on a 90-degree day. It’s now 10-15 degree cooler and livable. We also received a sizeable discount on our homeowners’ insurance because of the roof’s resistance to fire. We’re sure that having to “Never roof again” will help us sell our house should that be necessary. Thank you from two satisfied customers.
My Interlock ">Shake Style Roof in Aged Copper color was installed between December 21st and December 31st. Snow has covered most of the house and garage since it was installed, so I haven’t been able to enjoy the new look yet, but during the installation and before the snow it was obvious it I going to look great. I am glad I had them put Interlock ">Shakes on my 8ft x 16ft hip-roofed storage shed as well. There are a lot of huge oak trees close to my house and they had caused the heavy cedar hand-split shakes to deteriorate from moss growing on them. I knew I needed a roof that would not have this problem in the future. I am a retired mechanical engineer and had built the house and garage myself. I studied the specs on steel, stone coated steel and several aluminum style shakes, before finally settling on the Interlock product. I believe it will prove to be a good choice. I was very impressed with the quality and design of all the types of flashings, ridge vent, and fasteners that were expertly installed. I truly expect this roof to last and look great for generations. I was also very impressed with the crew who did the work under Juan and Carlos’ direction. They worked tirelessly in some difficult weather conditions and short daylight hours. A number of minor changes were made on the fly with gutters, snow guards and roof penetrations and they were all executed precisely. They were very careful in making sure the roofs were protected overnight, on weekends and during the Christmas holiday. They did a great job of cleaning up the difficult mess made removing the decayed shakes. I guess I won’t know for sure if there are any problems until we get some heavy rains in the spring and summer, but as of now, I would be happy to show the roof and talk to any prospective clients that are considering the Interlock product.
I love my new roof. It looks great and I know the house is in better shape without the heavy deteriorating asphalt shingles. My house is the only one on the block with no snow on the roof, and I can't wait to hear it in the rain
We are delighted with the workmanship and quality of our new roof. It has exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend an Interlock Roof to anyone looking to replace an old roof.
Dear Interlock Roofing, We are writing to share with you our experience with you, your employees, and the new roof. We built a brand new home and moved in January 1997. Within a few years, we were experiencing shingles that were curling and being removed by the wind. By the summer of 2007, it was imperative that we re-roof our home. Fortunately, we saw an ad in the local paper for your product. Below are just a few of the benefits we appreciate with the aluminum interlocking roofing shingles: The service and attention to our roofing project by Scott Bohnen from signing the contract to follow-up after the installation. The fact that the workforce followed safety procedures by wearing safety gear (we have a steep roof). Daily attention to our project until it was completed, about one week in total. Aesthetically pleasing roof, with numerous comments by friends and neighbors and those just passing by. EXCELLENT CURB APPEAL! The roof is quieter during rain storms than with regular asphalt shingles. We often have to verify that it is raining by visually looking or going outside. The roof reflects light so that we have experienced reduced air conditioning costs in the summer. In the winter, the heating bill is reduced as well and that may be in part to the aluminum shingle along with the polypropylene lining between the old and new shingles. No matter the reason, our heating and cooling bills are reduced. The fact that the roof is aluminum and it can be recycled at the end of its life expectancy. The 50-year, one time transferable, warranty. We could go on and on but we are very pleased with our roof and thankful that we will never have to re-roof again. Thank you.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Wanquay
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Wanquay, Minnesota. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Wanquay.
How does a metal roof handle heavy snow in Wanquay winters?
Interlock panels shed snow and ice efficiently because their smooth, interlocking aluminum surface prevents accumulation better than asphalt shingles. Wanquay receives about 101 cm of snow annually across 77 freeze-thaw days, which creates ideal conditions for ice dams on traditional roofs—but Interlock's aluminum oxide layer doesn't degrade under repeated freeze-thaw cycling the way asphalt does. Snow guards are available if you want to slow shedding. The lightweight design (Cedar Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement is needed, even when snow loads peak.
Will Minnesota's freeze-thaw cycles damage an aluminum metal roof?
No. Aluminum's oxide coating actually strengthens under freeze-thaw stress; it doesn't absorb moisture like asphalt or wood, so ice expansion won't crack it. Your region experiences roughly 77 freeze-thaw days per year—a genuine test—yet Interlock's 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy and Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years against degradation per ASTM D4214) maintain their integrity through this cycle indefinitely. The four-way interlocking seams prevent water penetration that would otherwise cause internal rot or delamination.
Can an aluminum metal roof rust?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—rust requires iron oxide. Instead, aluminum develops a thin, self-healing oxide layer that protects the metal permanently. Even if the coating is scratched, this oxide reforms automatically. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides of every panel adds a second defense, especially valuable in Wanquay's 557 mm annual rainfall. Over 27 years of installations from coastal salt-air environments to Antarctic research stations, Interlock aluminum has never corroded through—a fundamental material advantage over steel roofing systems.
Will a metal roof blow off in a Minnesota windstorm?
Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Wanquay's typical wind gusts reach about 103 km/h, well within that safety margin. The interlocking design distributes uplift forces across multiple panels rather than relying on fasteners alone, which is why the system maintains structural integrity in severe weather. ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms the installation method meets IBC/IRC codes. Your roof will stay put.
Does metal roofing hold up to hail, and can it lower my insurance costs?
Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This non-combustible aluminum construction (Class A fire rating available) often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because insurers recognize the reduced claims risk. Wanquay's climate includes occasional severe weather; a roof that won't dent or perforate appeals to underwriters. Contact your insurer with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating and ICC-ES documentation to discuss potential premium reductions.
What's the real lifespan of an Interlock metal roof, and what does the warranty cover?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years from completion. Unlike prorated warranties that diminish over time, this one doesn't. Combined with aluminum's inherent non-corrosive nature and the 30-year Alunar coating guarantee (ASTM D4214 / D2244), you're purchasing a roof that will outlast multiple asphalt cycles and most mortgages without material degradation.
Is a metal roof worth the higher upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?
Over a 50+ year horizon, metal roofing is the final roof you'll buy, while asphalt requires replacement every 15–20 years in Minnesota's climate. Factoring in three asphalt tear-offs, disposal, and reinstallation labor against one Interlock installation, the lifetime cost (materials, labor, and environmental cleanup) favors metal. Interlock's lightweight design (Shake at 0.58 lb/sq ft) installs over most existing roofs, reducing labor compared to tear-offs. Add the non-prorated Guardian Warranty, potential insurance discounts from UL 2218 Class 4 hail rating, and zero maintenance, and the premium becomes an investment, not an expense.
How much maintenance does a metal roof require?
Essentially none. Aluminum doesn't rust, rot, split, or curl; the Alunar coating resists chalking and fading (30-year warranty per ASTM D2244) with zero chemical treatment needed. Rain and snow shed naturally. Compare this to asphalt shingles (require algae treatment, granule inspection, and replacement every 15–20 years), wood shake (needs sealing and replacement), or tile (requires regrouting and cracked-tile repairs). Wanquay's 3098 annual sunshine hours and 557 mm rainfall keep your aluminum roof clean. CALGreen verification confirms reduced-maintenance performance. This is the lowest-maintenance roof available.
Can my house's frame support a metal roof, or do I need structural reinforcement?
No reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum construction is extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile, which replicates the appearance of heavy clay or concrete tile, weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft—approximately 96% lighter than the tile it imitates. Your existing framing can support this easily. Because weight isn't a concern, Interlock often installs directly over asphalt shingles without tear-off, saving labor and landfill waste. ICC-ES ESR-1790 confirms the system meets structural requirements for residential installation. You avoid the $3,000–$5,000+ cost of rafter upgrades that concrete or clay tile would demand.
Will an aluminum metal roof help cool my home in summer and save on energy costs?
Yes. energy-efficient Interlock colors offer thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning they bounce heat away rather than absorbing it like dark asphalt. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms this performance. Wanquay receives about 3098 annual sunshine hours; lighter colors reflect this solar load, reducing air-conditioning demand and peak demand charges. Metal roofs are also durable enough to keep reflective coatings intact for decades—unlike asphalt shingles, which lose reflectance as granules degrade. Over 25 years, the cooling savings compound significantly.
