What our customers are saying:
The communication is incredibly poor, mind-boggling poor. I would suggest improving the communication. I still haven't received my warranty or final payment statement. The sign is still in my yard. I don't want to throw it away. It's a nice big sign, and I'm sure they would like to use it. I didn't threaten them with anything.
From the start to finish, we loved their work and communication. There were no nails, metal bits, or excessive noise. They listened to all questions and addressed our concerns. They were careful to make no promise of a start date that they could not fulfill. The rain this year made it hard to predict! I would do a commercial for them free to endorse their work and product!
They were courteous and very efficient. They did a fine job.
They could have improved on the scheduling.
I have no feedback for this rating. I felt they could have improved in communication, specifically a few days notice before the start date. There is nothing else I would like to share.
Communication about the date of the project was difficult to ascertain. The crew was very hard working, courteous and kept the job site clean, but they cut down branches of a tree in my front yard that made me extremely upset.
Our new roof looks fabulous! We’re optimistic that we’ll be equally as pleased with its performance. The installers were professional, safety conscious, and courtesy to our dog. We appreciate how understanding they were of our dog needing a little time in his yard when they were working in that side of the house.
They could have improved on communication.
Interlock Roofing- Minneapolis is a very professional team for installation and quality of material! We are very happy! Considering the quality and endurance of the material, the cost isn't high in the long run. It absolutely makes the product much more feasible and reasonable than shingles!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Waterville Township
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Waterville Township, Minnesota. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Waterville Township.
Does metal roofing handle Minnesota snow and ice buildup?
Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to shed snow and resist ice damming in climates like Waterville Township, where you average about 94 cm of snow annually. The smooth, hard surface prevents snow from bonding; the lightweight design (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft) eliminates the structural strain that causes ice dams under heavy loads. Optional snow guards available for steep pitches. The aluminum's non-rusting composition means freeze-thaw cycling—you experience roughly 76 such cycles per year here—won't degrade the material or create rust streaks.
Will freeze-thaw cycles in Minnesota damage an aluminum metal roof?
No. Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, it forms a self-healing oxide layer that protects against corrosion year after year. With about 76 freeze-thaw days annually in Waterville Township, this matters: asphalt and wood absorb moisture that cracks under freezing, but aluminum's density prevents water ingress. The 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) used in Interlock panels maintains its structural integrity through repeated temperature swings. You won't see rust streaks, granule loss, or material failure from seasonal cycling.
Can metal roofing withstand Minnesota wind gusts?
Yes. Interlock panels resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, and Waterville Township's typical gusts reach about 96 km/h (60 mph). The four-way interlocking design prevents panel lift-off during high-wind events; the system is tested and warrantied for this region's wind load. The panels' light weight—about 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile—actually reduces structural stress compared to heavy slate or tile, so the roof moves with gusts rather than fighting them. This durability is backed by ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 compliance.
Does metal roofing hold up in hail, and can it lower insurance costs?
Interlock metal roofing achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer premium discounts; contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 certification and lifetime limited warranty details. Minnesota's hail season coincides with summer thunderstorms, and the aluminum's hardness resists impact that would dent or crack asphalt or wood. The non-combustible option (Class A fire rating) may further reduce your premium.
Why doesn't aluminum rust like steel roofing?
Aluminum roofing cannot rust because the material contains zero iron—rust is iron oxide, chemically impossible in pure aluminum. Instead, aluminum forms a microscopically thin oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, providing permanent protection against corrosion. In Minnesota's wet climate—about 860 mm of annual rainfall in Waterville Township—this is critical: steel rusts, asphalt absorbs and deteriorates, but aluminum's oxide barrier requires no maintenance to function. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (applied to both sides, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading) adds a second protective layer, but the material itself is inherently corrosion-proof.
Is aluminum roofing light enough to install over my existing roof?
Yes, in most cases. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so no structural reinforcement is needed. The Slate and Cedar Shingle profiles are even lighter. Most existing roof structures can support aluminum panels without modification. Installation directly over your current asphalt shingles eliminates tear-off labor and landfill waste. The four-way interlock ensures panels stay secured despite the light weight. A local installer will confirm your home's framing capacity during the consultation, but the aluminum's minimal load is a major advantage in older homes or where attic space is tight.
What warranty comes with Interlock metal roofing, and how long will it last?
Interlock offers The Guardian warranty—a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion. In practice, the aluminum's corrosion-proof composition and durable Alunar finish (30-year coating warranty per ASTM standards) mean decades of service. Waterville Township's 860 mm annual rainfall and frequent freeze-thaw cycles don't diminish this protection. You buy this roof once; it outlasts the home's mortgages.
Does metal roofing reduce cooling costs in summer?
energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect heat rather than absorb it, with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 in Aged Copper Penny and similar finishes. Waterville Township receives about 3,175 sunshine hours annually; reflective roofing means less heat transfers into your attic and living spaces, reducing air-conditioning demand during warm months. Cool Roof Rating Council testing confirms this effect. While Minnesota's winters are longer and snow cover limits summer cooling gains, the reflective properties still lower peak summer loads. Metal's superior thermal performance compared to dark asphalt means year-round energy efficiency.
How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?
Metal roofing requires far less maintenance than asphalt, wood shakes, or clay tile. Interlock aluminum panels don't absorb moisture, split, curl, or lose impact resistance over time—no annual inspections for damage, no re-sealing, no moss treatment. The CALGreen-verified design reduces maintenance obligations. In Waterville Township's climate, with 94 cm of snow and 860 mm of rain yearly, asphalt shingles degrade in 15–20 years; wood invites rot and mold. Aluminum sheds water and self-heals its oxide layer with zero intervention. Occasional gutter cleaning and inspection after severe wind (gusts to 96 km/h) are sufficient. One roof, one lifetime—no maintenance treadmill.
Is metal roofing environmentally better than asphalt shingles?
Yes. Interlock aluminum is roughly 95% recyclable at end of life; old panels become new aluminum products indefinitely. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, end up in landfills—and Waterville Township homeowners replace asphalt roofs every 15–25 years. Over a century, one aluminum roof replaces five or more asphalt roofs, saving thousands of pounds from the waste stream. Aluminum requires less energy to recycle than to mine virgin ore, so recycled content has real environmental value. The non-rusting composition means no rust-staining runoff or corrosion byproducts in Minnesota's wetlands. Installing over existing shingles (instead of tear-off) further cuts waste and transport emissions. A truly permanent roof is the greenest choice.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Waterville Township’s climate?
Yes. Waterville Township averages about 94 cm of snow, 860 mm of rain, roughly 76 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 96 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
