Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Bayport

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Bayport, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Bayport.

Will a metal roof survive Bayport's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes. Aluminum roofing thrives in freeze-thaw conditions because the material itself is inert—it expands and contracts without absorbing moisture, so it won't crack, rot, or delaminate. Bayport experiences about 53 freeze-thaw days per year, a serious threat to asphalt and wood shingles, but aluminum's non-porous structure means water cannot penetrate and refreeze inside the material. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is rated for 30 years against chalking and fading, protecting the aluminum's self-healing oxide layer through repeated temperature swings. Over your roof's 50+ year lifespan here, this resistance alone eliminates the most common failure mode in the Northeast.

Why won't aluminum roofing rust like steel?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Steel roofing corrodes when iron oxidizes; aluminum instead forms a microscopically thin, self-healing oxide layer that actually protects the metal beneath. Bayport receives about 1195 mm of rain annually, and the salt-laden air from coastal proximity accelerates corrosion in ferrous metals—yet this same environment is exactly where Interlock roofs have performed for decades. The Alunar coating is applied to both sides of each panel (extra protection in salt air) and is warranted for 30 years. This dual-layer defense—the oxide layer plus the fluorocarbon finish—means your roof will not deteriorate from moisture or salt exposure, even in a maritime climate.

How does a metal roof handle Bayport's snow and ice buildup?

Bayport receives about 55 cm of snow annually, and a metal roof's smooth, interlocking surface naturally sheds snow faster than asphalt shingles, reducing the weight load on your structure and lowering ice-dam risk. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels create a unified skin that prevents water infiltration even when ice dams form at the eaves. Snow guards are optional; many Bayport homeowners add them to control cascading snow from roofs over walkways or parked cars. The material's extraordinary light weight—the Shingle profile installs at just 0.41 lb per square foot—means your home carries a fraction of the snow load that slate or concrete tile would, protecting your framing through Bayport's typical winter weather.

Can an aluminum roof withstand Bayport's coastal wind gusts?

Yes. Bayport's typical daily winds average 24 km/h, but gusts can reach 145 km/h during storms—and Interlock metal roofing is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels lock together mechanically; once installed, they function as a unified system that resists uplift and lateral shear far better than shingles that can be peeled by wind. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms code compliance under the IBC and IRC, so your installation will meet or exceed local building standards for wind resistance. In a coastal region, this engineered holding strength is the margin between a roof that survives a nor'easter and one that requires emergency repair.

What's the hail rating, and could this lower my insurance?

Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 means the roof withstands impacts that would dent or puncture asphalt shingles and split wood shakes. Many insurance carriers recognize this durability and offer premium discounts for metal roofs; contact your agent for quotes. Bayport's climate history shows that hail risk, while not extreme, is present enough that impact resistance delivers real peace of mind and potential savings over the roof's 50+ year lifespan. Because the material is non-combustible (Class A fire rating available), some insurers offer additional discounts for fire resistance too.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum roofing weighs far less than traditional tile or slate—the Mediterranean Tile profile, for example, is about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most Bayport homes can support the Tile profile at just 0.59 lb per square foot, or the Slate profile even lighter. Because aluminum is so light, it installs directly over existing roofs in most cases, saving tear-off costs and debris hauling. This weight advantage is especially valuable if your home has older or lighter framing; a structural engineer will confirm compatibility, but typically no costly reinforcement is required. This is a key economic advantage over traditional tile, which would demand expensive reinforcement.

What's the installation timeline, and can you install over my current roof?

Most residential installs in Bayport complete in 2-5 days, depending on roof size and complexity. The four-way interlocking panels install faster than shingles because fewer fasteners are required and the mechanical lock system creates a continuous barrier. Yes, you can install over existing asphalt shingles in most cases, which eliminates tear-off labor, dumpster rental, and landfill fees—important given Bayport's approximately 1195 mm annual rainfall and 55 cm snowfall, where exposing bare decking mid-project poses weather risk. Interlock Roofing of America, serving this region since 2014, will assess your deck during a free estimate and confirm whether an overlay is safe and code-compliant under ESR-1790. If tear-off is necessary, they'll manage the entire process.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need?

Virtually none. Unlike asphalt shingles (which require periodic nail-popping repairs and seal-coat applications), wood shakes (which split, cup, and must be individually replaced), or ceramic tile (which cracks in freeze-thaw cycles), aluminum roofing requires no seasonal maintenance. Bayport's about 3181 annual sunshine hours keep the roof visible, but the Alunar 70% PVDF coating resists chalking and fading for 30 years, so color fading is negligible. Simply rinse debris off after storms if needed—that's optional, not mandatory. The CALGreen-verified reduced-maintenance rating reflects this simplicity. Over a 50-year lifespan, you'll spend almost nothing on upkeep, unlike asphalt or wood, which demand ongoing intervention to prevent accelerating deterioration.

Is aluminum roofing actually recyclable, or just greenwashing?

Aluminum roofing is about 95% recyclable and enters an actual, profitable recycling stream. When your roof eventually needs replacement—in 50+ years—the panels are worth money to recyclers and will be remade into new products rather than dumped in landfills. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, are difficult to recycle and typically end up in landfills; the tear-off waste from one Bayport home can weigh 3-5 tons. By choosing aluminum, you break the landfill cycle and reduce embodied carbon. The material was manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, and installed from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station—a supply chain optimized for durability and circular economy principles. At end-of-life, aluminum's scrap value means your roof has genuine environmental and economic value, not just cost at disposal.

Is the upfront cost worth it compared to asphalt over 50 years?

Yes, when you calculate total cost over the roof's lifespan. Asphalt shingles in Bayport typically last 15-20 years given the area's 53 annual freeze-thaw days, heavy rainfall (1195 mm/year), and coastal salt air—all factors that accelerate asphalt degradation. This means replacing them twice, or three times, over 50 years. Interlock's Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited (non-prorated material) for the original owner, then transferable 50 years to the next owner, covering rusting, rotting, cracking, and impact loss. No replacement, no tear-off waste, no re-roofing labor. Add the 30-year Alunar coating warranty, zero maintenance, and potential insurance discounts from the UL 2218 Class 4 hail rating, and the per-year cost of ownership favors aluminum decisively. This is the last roof you buy.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Bayport’s climate?

Yes. Bayport averages about 55 cm of snow, 1195 mm of rain, roughly 53 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 145 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
