Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Sayville

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Sayville, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Sayville.

Will metal roofing handle Sayville's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking or warping?

Aluminum won't crack, warp, or degrade from freeze-thaw cycling because it has no wood fibers to swell and no brittleness to fracture. Sayville experiences about 53 freeze-thaw days per year, plus roughly 55 cm of snow, which means your roof endures constant temperature swings. Aluminum's oxide layer actually self-heals when scratched, so expansion and contraction from the 10-year average temperature swings won't compromise the material. That's why Interlock panels have been installed from coastal Canadian homes to Antarctic research stations without freeze-thaw failures.

Why doesn't aluminum roofing rust like steel, and does that matter on Long Island?

Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust. Instead, it forms a protective oxide layer that self-heals when scratched. On Long Island, where salt air and coastal moisture corrode steel constantly, this difference is critical. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy and applies Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish to both sides of every panel—extra defense against salt spray. That dual-coat approach, backed by a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading, means your roof handles Sayville's humid maritime climate without the degradation that weakens ferrous metals.

Can my house support a metal roof, or do I need expensive structural upgrades?

You almost certainly don't need structural work. Interlock's Tile profile weighs just 0.59 pounds per square foot—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it installs over most existing roofs without reinforcement. Even the heavier Shake profile at 0.58 lb/sq ft is negligible compared to asphalt's ongoing load. Sayville receives about 55 cm of snow annually, but aluminum's light weight distributes that load more efficiently than heavy materials. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms compliance with building codes, so your contractor can verify that no upgrades are needed before installation.

How does a metal roof perform in Sayville winters with snow and ice buildup?

Metal roofing handles snow and ice well because the smooth, slippery surface sheds snow faster than asphalt, reducing ice dam buildup—and Interlock's four-way interlocking seams prevent water infiltration even when ice and snow accumulate. Sayville averages about 55 cm of snow annually with 53 freeze-thaw cycles per year, creating conditions where ice dams commonly form. The tight panel interlocks, installed to spec, warrant wind resistance to 120 mph (193 km/h), which means they won't lift or separate under the pressure of sliding snow or ice expansion. Snow guards are available if you want extra control over where snow slides.

Do metal roofing panels stay attached during Sayville's gusty weather?

Yes, when installed to specification. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), which exceeds typical Sayville conditions. Local 10-year normals show mean daily-maximum winds around 24 km/h with gusts to 145 km/h—well within the panel's rated performance. The interlocking system creates multiple fail-safes: each panel seats into its neighbors, and fasteners pull panels down into the deck rather than just through it. That's why the ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation and the warranty stand behind that 120 mph claim even in salt-air regions where corrosion might weaken other fasteners.

Will hail damage my metal roof, and can I get an insurance discount?

No. Interlock panels earn UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Because aluminum is non-combustible and can't be punctured by typical hail, many insurers offer premium discounts. Sayville's climate history suggests hail isn't frequent, but the Class 4 rating protects you regardless. Unlike asphalt shingles or slate, which dent or crack, aluminum's density and resilience absorb impact without structural damage. That combination of durability and low maintenance sometimes translates to lower homeowner insurance costs—ask your agent whether switching to a UL 2218 Class 4 roof qualifies you for a credit.

Will a metal roof keep my house cooler in summer and lower my cooling bills?

energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat rather than absorb it, thanks to coatings with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55. In Sayville's roughly 3181 annual sunshine hours, that reflectivity means less heat entering your attic on sunny days. The difference matters most in summer: while asphalt absorbs heat and radiates it into your home, reflective metal stays cooler and cuts cooling load. You won't see dramatic savings in a cloudy climate, but the Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms the measurement. Over a 30-year roof life, the energy savings add up, especially paired with the 30-year coating warranty that keeps reflectivity from fading.

What's the real lifespan of an Interlock metal roof, and what does the warranty cover?

The Guardian warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for you as the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. One-time transferable to the next owner for 50 years from completion. That structure means you never buy another roof if you stay in your home; the next owner gets half a century of coverage. Because aluminum is immune to rust and rot, and the Alunar 70% PVDF finish is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, real-world lifespans routinely exceed 50 years. Interlock has manufactured panels since 1998, so installed roofs from 1998–2014 are still performing—proof that the product delivers on its promises.

How long does it take to install a metal roof in Sayville, and can it go over my existing shingles?

Installation typically takes 1–3 days depending on roof size and complexity; Interlock Roofing of America can give you a precise timeline during the estimate. Yes, metal roofing installs over most existing roofs because Interlock panels weigh so little (the Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft, Tile at 0.59). Your existing structure doesn't need reinforcement, so removal costs and landfill fees vanish. The contractor will inspect deck integrity, add underlayment if needed, and fasten panels to the existing surface. Because no heavy slate or tile removal is required, labor is faster and cleaner than a tear-off. That efficiency cuts installation hassle while you keep your home's weather-tight envelope intact throughout the work.

Is metal roofing actually better for the environment than asphalt shingles?

Aluminum roofing breaks the asphalt cycle: when your shingle roof fails after 15–20 years, it goes to landfill. Metal roofing lasts 50+ years and is about 95% recyclable at end of life. Over a century, that means one metal roof versus five asphalt roofs in the landfill. Sayville residents' roughly 1195 mm of annual rainfall and frequent freeze-thaw cycles (53 days per year) accelerate asphalt degradation, so the lifecycle waste multiplies locally. Interlock's ICC-ES ESR-1790 report even includes CALGreen verification for reduced maintenance, reflecting the product's lower environmental footprint. Choosing metal means one installation, no tear-offs, and aluminum that returns to the recycling stream—a tangible way to reduce your home's waste impact.
