Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Islandia

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Islandia, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Islandia.

How does a metal roof handle Islandia's snow and ice buildup?

Metal roofing sheds snow and ice far better than asphalt because its smooth, hard surface won't trap moisture the way granules do. Islandia averages about 58 cm of snow yearly plus roughly 54 freeze-thaw cycles per year—conditions that crack and curl asphalt but leave aluminum unaffected. The four-way interlocking panels lock moisture out at seams, and because aluminum won't rot or split even when saturated, ice dams that leak into other roofs cause no damage here. Adding snow guards is simple if you want to control slides.

Will freeze-thaw cycles in Suffolk County damage an aluminum metal roof?

No. Aluminum expands and contracts with temperature swings, but it won't crack, warp, or lose structural integrity the way asphalt, wood shakes, and concrete tile do. With 54 annual freeze-thaw days, Islandia's climate is exactly where material durability matters most. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy is engineered for this kind of cycling, and the Alunar coating—warranted 30 years against chalking and fading under ASTM D4214 standards—stays bonded even as the substrate moves. Wood shakes split; aluminum just keeps working.

Can aluminum roofing rust or corrode in a coastal climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—rust is iron oxide, and aluminum doesn't produce it. Instead, aluminum develops an oxide layer that actually protects it; when scratched, that layer self-heals. Islandia sits in salt-air territory where steel roofing oxidizes aggressively, but aluminum thrives there. Interlock applies the Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish to both sides of every panel for extra protection, and the material has been installed from coastal homes to an Antarctic research station since 1998. Steel would be rusting by now; this aluminum is still solid.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof in Islandia?

No structural reinforcement is needed. The Slate profile installs at roughly 0.41 pounds per square foot, and even the heavier Tile profile—which replicates the look of concrete or clay—weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it roughly 96% lighter than the real thing. Most existing roofs in Suffolk County can support that weight without modification. Because aluminum is so light, Interlock's systems often install directly over your current roof, cutting labor time and disposal costs. Steel or stone tile would demand structural upgrades; this won't.

Can an Islandia metal roof survive nor'easters and coastal gusts?

Yes. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to spec, and Islandia's typical gusts reach about 142 km/h—roughly 88 mph. The panels lock together so tightly that wind can't separate them, and the lightweight design means less force is transmitted to fasteners and framing. The system has been tested under far worse than seasonal storms, and the Guardian warranty backs the wind performance. Asphalt shingles tear and lift in these conditions; Interlock's panels stay put.

Could a metal roof lower my homeowner's insurance premiums in Suffolk County?

Islandia homeowners should ask their insurance agent whether a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—qualifies for a premium discount. That's what Interlock's roofing carries, and it means the panels withstand hailstones up to 1.5 inches without permanent denting or loss of impact resistance. The Guardian warranty even covers perforation from hail. While Islandia's historical hail events aren't extreme by Great Plains standards, insurance companies often reward Class 4 roofing with lower rates because claims are rare. Run the numbers with your agent before choosing a lower-rated product.

Will a reflective metal roof cut cooling costs in summer around Islandia?

Yes, if you choose an energy-efficient color. Interlock offers profiles with thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and initial solar reflectance as high as 0.55—meaning they bounce heat away instead of absorbing it like asphalt does. Islandia gets about 3,127 sunshine hours per year, so summer heat gain is real, and cooling costs add up fast. The Cool Roof Rating Council ratings on these finishes prove the performance, and over a 50-year roof life, energy savings compound significantly. Asphalt absorbs nearly all solar radiation; reflective aluminum keeps your home cooler without a premium for the coating.

How much maintenance does an Interlock metal roof really need?

Minimal compared to asphalt, wood, or tile. Aluminum won't degrade from UV exposure, rot from moisture, or split from freeze-thaw cycles. The system is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, meaning no seasonal inspections for granule loss, no moss treatment, no wood rot patches. Islandia's 1,222 mm of annual rainfall will rinse the roof clean naturally; the coating stays bonded for 30 years under ASTM D4214 standards. While asphalt shingles require gutter cleaning and regular inspections starting year five, this roof just works. That's why the Guardian warranty doesn't cap maintenance claims—there typically aren't any.

Is an Interlock metal roof worth the upfront cost over a 50-year lifespan?

Yes, when you total material, labor, and replacement cycles. A typical asphalt roof lasts 15–25 years and requires three replacements in 50 years; each tear-off, haul-away, and reinstall costs thousands. An Interlock roof carries a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, transferable to one subsequent owner for 50 years total. That covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and hail damage. Factor in energy savings from reflective coatings over 50 years, no maintenance labor, and the fact that asphalt ends up in the landfill while aluminum recycles—the math favors metal. You're buying your last roof.

Can I get a Class A fire rating on a metal roof in New York?

Yes. Aluminum is non-combustible, and Interlock's profiles are available with Class A fire classification. If your homeowner's or builder's insurance, HOA, or local code requires fire resistance—common in New York—metal roofing meets that requirement outright. The material is ICC-ES evaluated under ESR-1790 for compliance with the International Building Code and International Residential Code. Unlike asphalt shingles (which are combustible) or wood shakes (which are very combustible), aluminum doesn't burn and won't contribute to fire spread. If fire rating matters to your project, you'll meet code and potentially qualify for insurance benefits.
