Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Holtsville

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Holtsville, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Holtsville.

How does a metal roof handle snow and ice in Holtsville winters?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice effectively because the smooth, hard surface resists adhesion compared to asphalt shingles. Holtsville receives about 58 cm of snow annually along with roughly 54 freeze-thaw cycles per year—conditions that cause asphalt to crack and curl. The aluminum's oxide layer doesn't degrade through these freeze-thaw cycles, and optional snow guards can be installed to manage snow discharge safely. The panels weigh only 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft, so no structural reinforcement is required even in heavy snow years.

Why won't an aluminum roof rust on Long Island's damp coastal climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, it develops a thin, self-healing oxide layer that protects it indefinitely. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) with a Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish applied to both sides of each panel. This dual-coat approach is especially valuable near salt air and in regions with high rainfall like Holtsville's ~1222 mm annually. The finish is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, and even if scratched, the aluminum's oxide layer continuously reforms beneath.

Does freeze-thaw weathering damage a metal roof over time?

No—aluminum is inherently immune to freeze-thaw damage because it has no porous structure that absorbs water and expands when frozen. With about 54 freeze-thaw days annually in Holtsville, materials like asphalt and wood shingles weaken as water penetrates and cycles, but aluminum's solid alloy structure simply does not degrade this way. The Alunar® coating provides additional long-term protection, and the four-way interlocking seams prevent water infiltration at panel joints. This durability is backed by the Guardian Warranty, which covers cracking and loss of structural integrity.

Can a metal roof withstand Holtsville's strong winds and coastal gusts?

Yes—Interlock's aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Holtsville experiences typical daily-max winds around 21 km/h with gusts reaching 142 km/h, well within the roof's rated capacity. The four-way interlocking system locks panels together, distributing wind loads across the entire roof plane rather than allowing individual shingles to lift or peel. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms compliance with IBC/IRC wind provisions, so your roof and insurance interests remain protected.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Metal roofing costs more initially but becomes the last roof you install, making it far cheaper over 30, 40, or 50+ years. Asphalt shingles typically last 15–20 years in climates with heavy rain (Holtsville averages ~1222 mm annually) and freeze-thaw stress (54 days/year), requiring replacement three or four times in a homeowner's tenure. Interlock's lifetime limited Guardian Warranty—non-prorated for the original owner and transferable 50 years to the next—eliminates repeated tear-off and landfill costs. When you factor in labor, disposal, and avoided business interruption, aluminum pays for itself.

What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover and for how long?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It is one-time transferable to the next owner, extending 50 years from completion—so a roof installed today protects the next buyer until mid-century. This breadth of coverage is unusual: it acknowledges that aluminum doesn't rust (unlike steel), doesn't rot (unlike wood), and maintains structural integrity through freeze-thaw cycling. Backed by Interlock's manufacturing heritage since 1998 and installations from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations.

Is a metal roof fire-safe for my home in Suffolk County?

Interlock aluminum roofing is non-combustible and achieves Class A fire rating, the highest classification available. The aluminum alloy itself does not ignite, and there is no fuel load, unlike asphalt or wood shingles. This non-combustible rating may qualify you for fire-related insurance discounts and is increasingly preferred by insurance companies in areas with wildfire risk or where building codes favor fire-resistant construction. The ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 confirms compliance with IBC/IRC fire provisions, giving homeowners, insurers, and municipalities confidence in your roof's safety performance.

How does a metal roof keep heavy rain out when Holtsville gets over 1200 mm annually?

Interlock's four-way interlocking panels and solid deck installation eliminate the leak pathways common in shingle roofs. The aluminum panels interlock on all four sides, creating a unified plane that sheds water continuously downward; there are no gaps or overlaps where standing water can pool and seep. With Holtsville receiving about 1222 mm of rain per year, shedding speed matters—the smooth aluminum surface (compared to porous asphalt) promotes rapid drainage. Installation underlayment and flashing at penetrations provide secondary defense. The Guardian Warranty's coverage for leak-related damage reflects Interlock's confidence in this system.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need?

Interlock aluminum roofing requires little to no maintenance beyond occasional debris removal—no sealing, no recoating, no treatment. Asphalt and wood roofs demand regular inspection, moss/algae removal, and sealant reapplication, especially in climates like Holtsville's with ~1222 mm rainfall and 54 annual freeze-thaw cycles that accelerate deterioration. The Alunar® 70% PVDF finish resists environmental damage for 30 years (ASTM D4214/D2244), so you do not chase coating renewal. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance requirements. Over a 50-year timeframe, the labor and chemical savings alone justify the aluminum choice.

Can a metal roof be installed over my existing asphalt shingles in Holtsville?

Yes—Interlock's remarkable lightweight construction (0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile) allows installation directly over most existing roofs without structural reinforcement or costly tear-off and disposal. This is especially practical in Holtsville, where avoiding landfill waste and the labor cost of removal saves time and money. Interlock Roofing of America, serving the region since 2014, will assess your existing roof during a consultation to confirm suitability. The process typically involves installing a batten or cleat system, interlocking the aluminum panels, and sealing penetrations. You avoid weeks of disruption and the environmental burden of shingle disposal.
