Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Yaphank

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Yaphank, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Yaphank.

Does metal roofing handle heavy snow and ice in Suffolk County winters?

Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to shed snow and ice without structural strain. Yaphank receives about 58 cm of snow annually over roughly 54 freeze-thaw cycles per year, which is exactly where aluminum's light weight and smooth profiles excel. Unlike asphalt, which can trap moisture in freeze-thaw stress, aluminum won't split, curl, or absorb water. You can add snow guards if you prefer controlled release. The panels are warranted to 120 mph wind speeds—well above Yaphank's typical gusts of 142 km/h—so winter storms won't tear them loose.

Why doesn't aluminum rust like steel roofing?

Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust—period. The moment it's exposed to air, aluminum naturally forms a microscopic oxide layer that protects the metal beneath. If that layer is scratched, it heals itself automatically. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) is coated with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon on both sides, giving you 30 years of warranty against fading and chalking. In a climate like Yaphank's—with 1222 mm of annual rainfall and seasonal salt-air exposure from the coast—this combination means your roof won't degrade the way steel or asphalt eventually does.

How do freeze-thaw cycles affect a metal roof over time?

Freeze-thaw cycles damage materials that absorb water and expand when frozen. Yaphank experiences about 54 freeze-thaw days per year—enough to crack asphalt, warp wood shakes, and stress traditional tile. Aluminum doesn't absorb water, so freezing temperatures don't expand it or create stress fractures. Its oxide layer and Alunar coating seal out moisture before it can penetrate. The panels interlock four ways, preventing water from pooling at seams. Combined with the 30-year fluorocarbon warranty and lifetime limited coverage, you're protected through decades of thaw-and-refreeze cycles that would compromise other roofing materials.

Can my house handle a metal roof without reinforcing the frame?

Almost certainly yes—that's one of aluminum's biggest advantages. The Interlock Slate profile installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft, and even the Mediterranean Tile (the heaviest) comes in around 0.59 lb/sq ft. That's about 96% lighter than real concrete or clay tile, so no structural reinforcement is needed. Most existing roofs can support it, and the lightweight design installs directly over your current shingles—no tear-off required unless you want it. Since Yaphank's wind gusts reach 142 km/h, the light weight actually helps: less mass for wind to push against, and the interlocking panels stay locked even in severe conditions. Have your local installer—Interlock Roofing of America—do a quick roof-frame assessment, but the answer is usually yes.

Will a metal roof reduce my insurance costs after hail?

Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 aluminum resists hail damage far better than asphalt, wood, or standard shingles. Some insurers offer discounts on homes with Class 4-rated metal roofs because claims are rare and smaller. Contact your agent to see if your policy qualifies; many do, and the savings can offset part of your roof cost over time. Even without a discount, knowing your roof won't be cratered by a summer storm gives real peace of mind, especially in a region with 3127 sunshine hours per year—clear skies can also bring sudden thunderstorms and hail.

How safe is a metal roof in coastal Suffolk County wind?

Interlock's four-way interlocking panels lock together tightly, and they're warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Yaphank's typical gusts reach 142 km/h (about 88 mph), well within that range, and even rare extreme gusts stay near the warranty threshold. The interlocking design prevents wind from lifting panel edges or separating seams—a common failure point for shingles. Code compliance is verified under ICC-ES ESR-1790 (updated 2025), so the installation meets or exceeds IBC and IRC wind-load requirements for New York. Your local installer, Interlock Roofing of America, has been serving the region since 2014 and knows how to secure panels for local wind patterns.

What maintenance does a metal roof actually need?

Virtually none compared to asphalt or wood. There's no granule loss, no algae or moss growth, no rot, and no seasonal repairs. After installation, you simply inspect gutters and flashing annually—the same as any roof. Interlock's aluminum won't split, curl, or require re-coating, and the Alunar finish is rated CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance. With Yaphank receiving 1222 mm of rain and 58 cm of snow yearly, heavy water runoff keeps the panels naturally clean. If debris collects in gutters, clear it. That's it. The lifetime limited warranty covers defects in material and workmanship, so you're not chasing leaks or patching holes like asphalt owners do every 15–20 years.

Does metal roofing really save money on cooling in New York?

Energy-reflective Interlock colors are energy-efficient and Cool Roof Rating Council rated, reflecting solar heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your attic. Select profiles like Aged Copper Penny reach initial solar reflectance of 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning they bounce heat away and release absorbed heat efficiently. Yaphank has about 3127 sunshine hours per year—plenty of opportunity for asphalt to cook your roof and jack up cooling costs. Metal reflects that energy, keeping attic temperatures lower and reducing air-conditioning load. Over a 50-year roof life, the cooling savings alone can offset material cost. The 30-year coating warranty maintains reflectivity, so the benefit doesn't fade.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt?

Over the roof's lifetime, yes—it's the only roof you'll buy. Asphalt costs less upfront but needs replacement every 15–20 years; Interlock's lifetime limited warranty covers the original owner forever, with one transfer to the next owner for 50 years. In Yaphank's freeze-thaw climate (54 cycles per year) and rainfall (1222 mm annually), asphalt deteriorates faster. Metal avoids tear-off fees, landfill costs, and repeated labor. Energy savings from reflective coatings reduce cooling expenses. Insurance may offer Class 4 hail discounts. No maintenance costs. Over 40+ years, most homeowners find metal 20–40% cheaper when all costs are totaled. Interlock Roofing of America can give you a full lifecycle estimate.

What does the Interlock warranty actually cover?

The Guardian warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion, adding significant resale appeal. The Alunar coating is separately warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 and D2244 testing). This structure means you're protected through Yaphank's entire climate spectrum: 58 cm of snow, 1222 mm of rain, 54 freeze-thaw cycles, and 142 km/h gusts annually. No other roofing material offers this level of long-term certainty. Full warranty terms are available from Interlock Roofing of America.
