What our customers are saying:
I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.
I wasted 4 months of my time thinking i will have a beautiful metal roof just to learn that interlock will not be able to do it after all
Interlock Roofing could have improved their communication.
I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.
We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.
I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.
My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.
To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Mastic Beach
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Mastic Beach, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Mastic Beach.
Will a metal roof handle freeze-thaw cycles in Mastic Beach winters?
Yes. Aluminum's crystalline structure withstands freeze-thaw cycling without cracking or splitting. Mastic Beach experiences about 54 freeze-thaw days per year and roughly 58 cm of snow, both of which cause wood and asphalt shingles to degrade. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) and Alunar PVDF coating remain flexible across temperature swings—they contract and expand uniformly without material failure. The 30-year coating warranty (ASTM D4214/D2244) covers fading and chalking through winter-into-spring transitions.
Why choose aluminum roofing instead of steel if I'm near salt water?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Instead, it forms a self-healing oxide layer that instantly re-seals if scratched, which is why Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloys. For added coastal protection in Mastic Beach's salt-laden air, both sides of every panel receive the Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish—standard on only one side for most competitors. This two-sided coating is rated for 30 years against corrosion-related fading and chalking, giving you corrosion immunity plus aesthetic durability across roughly 3127 annual sunshine hours.
How does a metal roof perform with heavy snow and ice buildup?
Metal roofing sheds snow and ice more effectively than asphalt due to its smooth, sloped surface and low thermal mass. Mastic Beach receives about 58 cm of snow annually alongside roughly 1222 mm of rain. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels (ESR-1790 approved) lock together to prevent water seepage when ice dams form. Snow guards can be added to prevent avalanching where desired. The lightweight construction—the Shingle profile installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft—means no structural reinforcement is needed, unlike slate or concrete tile roofs that would require expensive foundation work in wet, heavy-snow conditions.
Can a metal roof withstand Mastic Beach's coastal wind gusts?
Yes. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h). Mastic Beach typically experiences gusts around 142 km/h, well within that range. The interlocking design distributes wind load across all four edges of each panel rather than relying on fasteners alone. This engineering meets ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 for IBC/IRC wind load requirements. The warranty covers wind-related damage from 120 mph gusts, and insurance companies often recognize the superior performance of four-way locked systems.
Will hail damage my metal roof? Do I get an insurance break?
No—hail won't damage it. Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, the highest available. The warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer premium discounts compared to asphalt shingles, which dent and leak from hail. Mastic Beach's annual hail risk is lower than inland regions, but when storms strike, your roof's impact resistance is verified and warranted. Class 4 impact resistance is measured by drop-testing steel balls from increasing heights—Interlock passes the most demanding standard.
Can I install a tile-look metal roof without reinforcing my house?
Yes. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. No structural reinforcement is needed. Because aluminum is so light, it installs directly over most existing roofs without removal, saving thousands on labor and landfill costs. Mastic Beach homes built for asphalt can safely support metal tile without engineers evaluating the structure. Compare this to real tile or slate, which demand foundation and framing upgrades. The lightweight design is one reason the Guardian warranty transfers to the next owner for 50 years—the roof won't overload or settle.
Does heavy rain leak through metal roofing?
No. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels prevent water penetration even during Mastic Beach's typical 1222 mm annual rainfall. Each panel locks on all four edges, eliminating gaps where water can enter. Installation includes a solid deck and underlayment—the same practice as asphalt roofs—so rain noise is identical to conventional roofing, not loud. The interlocking seam design means water runs off rather than pooling at fasteners or overlaps. ESR-1790 approval confirms the system meets IBC/IRC water-shedding standards. The Guardian warranty covers leaking, so any defect is fully protected.
Will a metal roof lower my cooling costs in summer?
Yes, if you choose an energy-efficient color. Interlock offers colors with thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny). These reflective coatings bounce heat away rather than absorbing it like asphalt. Over Mastic Beach's roughly 3127 annual sunshine hours, this difference compounds month after month. The Cool Roof Rating Council certifies these values. In summer months, lower roof-surface temperatures reduce cooling demand, lowering electricity bills. energy-efficiency certification also qualifies you for potential rebates. Dark or matte finishes absorb more heat; choose reflective colors to maximize energy savings.
Is a metal roof more expensive than asphalt over 50 years?
No—it's the last roof you'll buy. Asphalt shingles typically last 15–20 years in Mastic Beach's 54 annual freeze-thaw cycles, meaning two or three replacements over 50 years, each requiring tearoff and landfill disposal. Interlock's Guardian warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner, then transfers once for 50 years on the next owner. Metal roofing resists cracking, splitting, curling, and rust—conditions asphalt succumbs to. Initial cost is higher, but you eliminate replacement labor, disposal fees, and roof-off disruptions. Over five decades of 1222 mm rain and 58 cm snow annually, one durable metal roof outpaces repeated asphalt cycles financially and environmentally.
Who installs Interlock roofing near Mastic Beach?
Interlock Roofing of America has served Suffolk County since 2014 and covers Mastic Beach's service area. They handle the full process: inspection, design selection from five profiles (Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, Mediterranean Tile), installation over existing roofs, and warranty registration. Local experience with coastal conditions—salt air, heavy rain, gusts, and freeze-thaw—ensures proper panel sealing and ventilation. The installer manages ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance and Guardian warranty paperwork. Call them for a site visit; they'll assess your roof's readiness and timeline, typically completing projects before winter weather intensifies.
