Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in East Moriches

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in East Moriches, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in East Moriches.

Will a metal roof hold up to freeze-thaw cycles in East Moriches winters?

Yes—aluminum's non-porous structure actually makes it superior to asphalt in freeze-thaw environments. Your area experiences about 54 freeze-thaw days per year, which causes asphalt shingles to crack and curl as moisture penetrates and expands. Interlock's 3105-H24 aluminum alloy neither absorbs water nor develops stress points from ice expansion. The Alunar coating, warranted 30 years against cracking, protects the oxide layer that self-heals when scratched by winter debris or ice dams.

How does metal roofing handle East Moriches snow and ice buildup?

The four-way interlocking panels shed snow effectively due to their smooth surface and the steep pitch recommended for climates receiving about 58 cm of snow annually. The lightweight design—the Shake profile weighs only 0.58 lb/sq ft—means no structural reinforcement is needed, even where snow accumulates temporarily. Ice dams are prevented by proper attic ventilation and underlayment, not the roof material itself. Snow guards can be added if desired to direct melt away from walkways, and the durable interlocks prevent any ice-related panel movement.

Can metal roofing leak during heavy rain with East Moriches' 1,200+ mm annual precipitation?

No. The four-way interlocking design creates a continuous water barrier—each panel overlaps its neighbors at four edges, not two like traditional shingles. East Moriches receives approximately 1,222 mm of rain yearly; the interlocks are engineered per ICC-ES ESR-1790 to shed every drop. Installation over a solid deck with underlayment—which we handle on existing roofs—prevents water from ever reaching the substrate. Properly installed, the system outperforms shingles that deteriorate under sustained wet conditions.

Is a metal roof safe in East Moriches given coastal wind gusts?

Absolutely. Your area experiences typical gusts around 142 km/h (about 88 mph), but our warranty covers wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. The four-way interlocking panels are mechanically fastened to the deck and function as one continuous assembly rather than individual shingles that can lift or blow off. This design, combined with proper fastening patterns, resists the lateral stress that tears asphalt or wood shingles. The lighter weight of aluminum—roughly 0.41 lb/sq ft for the Shingle profile—actually reduces uplift forces compared to heavier materials.

Why should I choose aluminum over steel roofing in East Moriches' salty air?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; it instead develops a self-healing oxide layer invisible to the eye. Steel roofing requires coatings to prevent rust, and those coatings can fail in salt-air environments—Interlock's panels have been installed in coastal salt-air homes since 1998. The Alunar fluorocarbon coating is applied to both sides of every panel (extra protection in salt environments) and carries a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading per ASTM standards. Once the coating eventually ages, the aluminum substrate remains corrosion-proof indefinitely.

What hail protection does metal roofing provide, and can it lower my insurance?

Interlock's panels achieve UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This non-combustible aluminum won't dent like steel and won't crack like asphalt or tile. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer premium discounts for impact-rated roofing. When you contact your agent, reference ESR-1790 compliance and the Class 4 rating; some carriers provide 10–15% reductions. Combined with the lifetime limited warranty, the financial protection is substantial over the life of the roof.

How long will a metal roof last and what does the warranty actually cover?

Interlock's Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited (non-prorated) for the original owner and covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—conditions that plague asphalt, wood, and concrete tile. The next owner receives 50 years of protection, making the roof an asset that transfers with the home. With about 3,127 sunshine hours annually and an aluminum substrate that doesn't degrade, the roof typically outlasts the building itself. The Alunar coating alone carries 30 years of fading/chalking protection, after which the aluminum's integrity remains intact.

Can a metal roof actually lower my cooling costs on Long Island?

Yes. energy-efficient colors carry initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, reflecting heat that dark asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into the home. East Moriches receives about 3,127 sunshine hours per year, making reflective roofing a measurable advantage during warmer months. The Cool Roof Rating Council verifies these properties. Homeowners in similar climates report cooling savings of 10–20%, depending on attic insulation and ventilation. Over decades, reflective coating in energy-efficiency colors pays dividends, especially as asphalt absorbs more heat with age.

Can I install metal roofing over my existing roof without reinforcing the structure?

Yes, because Interlock's panels are extraordinarily light. The Mediterranean Tile profile—aesthetically similar to concrete tile—weighs approximately 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it about 96% lighter than actual clay or concrete tile. Most East Moriches homes can support this weight without structural modification. Installation over an existing roof is standard practice, saving tear-off labor and landfill costs. We've installed over asphalt shingles, wood shakes, and tar-and-gravel systems since 2014. The savings in structural engineering and demolition often offset a portion of the material cost.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or tile?

Minimal upkeep is required. Asphalt shingles need moss/algae treatment and seal-coating every 3–5 years and deteriorate under 54 annual freeze-thaw cycles; wood shakes split and require frequent repair. Interlock's aluminum panels resist moss and algae growth and never require re-coating or seal-coating. Occasional gutter cleaning is standard for any roof. The CALGreen program verifies reduced-maintenance properties of our metal roofing. With no wood to split, no asphalt to degrade, and no coating to reapply, a 30+ year service life involves only basic inspection and debris removal—dramatically lower lifetime cost than traditional materials.

Is a metal roof a good choice for East Moriches’s climate?

Yes. East Moriches averages about 58 cm of snow, 1222 mm of rain, roughly 54 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 142 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
