Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Wading River

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Wading River, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Wading River.

Will an aluminum metal roof handle Wading River's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum's oxide layer actually strengthens through repeated freeze-thaw stress rather than degrading like asphalt or wood. Wading River experiences about 54 freeze-thaw days per year, plus roughly 58 cm of snow, creating ideal conditions where the roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) expands and contracts without cracking, splitting, or losing integrity. The four-way interlocking panels accommodate movement while the self-healing oxide layer resists the salt spray that accelerates freeze damage on steel and copper roofs.

How does a metal roof perform under Wading River snow loads?

Metal roofing handles snow exceptionally well because its weight—the Shingle profile installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft—allows snow to settle safely without structural reinforcement. Wading River receives about 58 cm of snow annually across roughly 54 freeze-thaw days, and the smooth interlocking surface naturally sheds water as temperatures rise. Optional snow guards prevent sudden slides if desired. Unlike heavy slate or tile (which require expensive framing upgrades), this aluminum profile installs directly over most existing roofs, transforming your structure into a durable winter-weather system without renovation costs.

Can an aluminum roof rust in a coastal area like Wading River?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—its oxide layer self-heals when scratched, making it fundamentally different from steel. In Wading River's salt-air environment (within Suffolk County's coastal influence zone), this distinction matters: the Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both panel sides, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM D4214/D2244. Steel roofs degrade rapidly in coastal conditions; aluminum actually improves with age, developing a protective patina that reinforces corrosion resistance through repeated salt spray and 1222 mm annual rainfall.

Is a metal roof strong enough for Wading River's wind gusts?

The four-way interlocking design warrants resistance to wind speeds up to 120 mph, and Wading River's typical gust data (peaks around 142 km/h, or roughly 88 mph) sits well within that rating when installed to specification. The interlocking panels lock perpendicular to prevailing wind direction, distributing uplift force across the entire roof plane rather than stressing individual fasteners. Combined with the lightweight aluminum (no added structural load during installation), this system has been installed on coastal research stations and homes where wind performance is non-negotiable—providing durability without the vulnerability of traditional shingles in seasonal gusts.

What hail rating does an aluminum metal roof carry?

Interlock Metal Roofing carries the highest available impact rating—UL 2218 Class 4—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Wading River's continental climate history and seasonal thunderstorm potential make this certification valuable: many homeowners with Class 4-rated roofs qualify for insurance discounts because the aluminum panels absorb impact energy without cracking or creating leak pathways. The warranty's explicit hail coverage means claims processing is straightforward, and the non-prorated material warranty extends lifetime protection to the original owner.

Can I install a metal roof over my existing shingles without reinforcing the structure?

Yes—aluminum's exceptional lightness is the key advantage here. The Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft, approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, so your home's framing carries virtually no additional load. Most Wading River homes built with standard roof framing can accept installation directly over existing asphalt without structural evaluation or reinforcement. This eliminates costly tear-off labor, reduces landfill waste, and shortens installation timelines—making a permanent upgrade financially and logistically feasible for homes where structural modifications would otherwise be prohibitive.

What warranty does Interlock Metal Roofing offer?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—with no time-based payment reduction. It's also one-time transferable: the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from completion date. For Wading River homeowners, this structure means you're purchasing the last roof your home will need, and potential buyers see genuine asset value in a roof that carries documented protection through mid-century. The transferable term signals confidence in aluminum's durability across two ownership cycles.

How much maintenance does an aluminum metal roof require?

Virtually none compared to asphalt, wood shake, or tile. The Alunar 70% PVDF finish resists chalking and fading across Wading River's ~3127 annual sunshine hours and 1222 mm rainfall, requiring only occasional rinsing to remove salt spray or debris—far less than wood shake (which splits and curls), asphalt (which requires patching and re-coating), or tile (which traps moisture and requires repointing). The CALGreen-verified system reduces maintenance obligations, lowering homeowner burden and long-term costs. Aluminum's passive durability means your roof works without you.

Can a metal roof lower cooling costs?

Yes—energy-efficient colors reflect heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt. The Aged Copper Penny finish achieves initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, certified by the Cool Roof Rating Council. In Wading River, where summer temperatures push higher despite ~3127 sunshine hours annually, reflective coatings reduce heat transfer into attic spaces, lowering air-conditioning demand. The effect compounds across the roof's lifetime: while asphalt darkens and absorbs more heat each year, the PVDF coating's 30-year color stability means your roof continues reflecting solar energy decade after decade, offsetting energy costs without mechanical upgrades.

Who installs Interlock Metal Roofing in Wading River?

Interlock Roofing of America has served the Wading River region since 2014, providing installation expertise across Suffolk County's coastal and inland climates. They understand local building codes (ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance, reissued 2025), seasonal weather patterns (freeze-thaw cycles, salt air, heavy snow), and how to optimize four-way interlocking installation for this specific environment. Working with an installer who has a decade of regional experience means faster permitting, correct fastening for wind resistance up to 120 mph, and warranty-compliant workmanship that protects your investment through decades of Wading River weather.
