| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |

What our customers are saying:
I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.
I wasted 4 months of my time thinking i will have a beautiful metal roof just to learn that interlock will not be able to do it after all
Interlock Roofing could have improved their communication.
I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.
We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.
I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.
My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.
To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Port Jefferson Station
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Port Jefferson Station, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Port Jefferson Station.
Will a metal roof hold up through Port Jefferson Station's freeze-thaw cycles?
Yes—aluminum's oxide layer actually strengthens rather than degrades through repeated freeze-thaw stress. Your area experiences about 54 freeze-thaw days yearly, plus roughly 58 cm of snow, which creates the exact conditions where asphalt shingles crack and curl. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) has no iron, so it expands and contracts without the brittleness that makes traditional materials fail. The four-way interlocking system handles seasonal movement without separating or leaking, and the 30-year Alunar coating resists the salt-laden freeze cycles common near coastal Suffolk County.
How does a metal roof handle heavy snow loads in Port Jefferson Station?
Metal roofing sheds snow efficiently because its smooth, hard surface resists accumulation compared to asphalt's friction. Port Jefferson Station averages 58 cm of snow annually across roughly 3127 sunshine hours, meaning snow melts predictably rather than sitting for weeks. Aluminum weighs extraordinarily little—the Cedar Shingle profile installs at only 0.41 lb/sq ft—so your structure bears a fraction of the load that slate or concrete tile would impose. The four-way interlocking panels lock snow loads uniformly across the roof, and optional snow guards can be installed where roof pitch demands them, protecting walkways and entry areas without overloading the frame.
Can a metal roof withstand the wind gusts that hit Port Jefferson Station?
Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), well above the gusts that reach 142 km/h in your area. The interlocking design prevents individual panels from lifting or separating during extreme weather, which is why the roof performs so well in coastal regions from Maine to British Columbia. With about 1222 mm of annual rainfall often driven by nor'easters, the system's sealed interlocks also prevent wind-driven water penetration. Installation to ICC-ES ESR-1790 specification ensures the warranty applies, and your local installer, Interlock Roofing of America, has been serving the region since 2014 and understands Suffolk County wind patterns.
Will my homeowners insurance cover hail damage to a metal roof?
Many insurers offer discounts for UL 2218 Class 4 roofing—the highest impact rating available—which Interlock aluminum roofs carry. Class 4 means the roof withstands hailstones up to 1.5 inches without perforation, and the Guardian Warranty covers that protection for life. Contact your agent with the UL 2218 rating to discuss potential premium reductions. Port Jefferson Station's exposure to Atlantic weather includes occasional severe thunderstorms, and a Class 4-rated roof often qualifies for lower rates than asphalt shingles, which typically max out at Class 3. The non-prorated material warranty covering impact loss for the original owner provides additional peace of mind that your insurance alone cannot match.
Do I need to reinforce my house to install a metal tile roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed because aluminum is extraordinarily light. The Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it installs directly over most existing roofs without frame upgrades. A traditional concrete tile roof adds thousands of pounds of dead load; Interlock's aluminum tile adds almost none. This lightweight design is especially valuable in Port Jefferson Station, where many homes were built decades ago and older frames cannot handle tile's structural demands. You can upgrade from asphalt shingles to the visual richness of tile without costly structural work, and the installation timeline shortens because no foundation preparation is required.
Will a metal roof keep my house cooler in summer?
energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect solar heat rather than absorb it, reducing cooling load on hot days. The Aged Copper Penny color achieves initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning it bounces heat away while radiating absorbed warmth back to the sky. Port Jefferson Station receives about 3127 sunshine hours yearly, so reflectance matters: asphalt absorbs that energy and transfers it indoors, while reflective metal roofing keeps interior temperatures lower and cuts air conditioning runtime. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating applies to qualifying colors, and some energy utilities offer rebates for energy-efficiency roofs. Over a 30-year roof life in your climate, energy savings compound significantly compared to dark asphalt.
What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover?
The Guardian Warranty is a non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—essentially every failure mode except installation error or acts of war. Non-prorated means there's no deductible or declining coverage over time; if a panel fails in year 25, it's replaced at no cost. The warranty is transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from the roof's completion date, which increases your home's resale appeal. Combined with the Alunar coating's 30-year fade and chalk warranty (ASTM D4214/D2244 measured) and aluminum's inherent non-rust property, this is genuinely a last-roof-you'll-buy guarantee for your family's tenure in the home.
How often do I need to maintain a metal roof in Port Jefferson Station?
Virtually never. Unlike asphalt shingles, which degrade from UV and temperature cycling over your 54 annual freeze-thaw days, aluminum requires no seasonal inspections, no resealing, no granule replacement, and no moss treatment. Unlike wood cedar or shake shakes, it doesn't split, curl, or rot despite 1222 mm of annual rainfall and coastal salt air. Unlike concrete or clay tile, it won't crack from freeze-thaw stress or require structural repairs from its weight. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating on both panel sides is factory-applied and warrants 30 years against fading, so recoating isn't needed. Occasional rinsing after severe weather removes salt deposits, but maintenance beyond that is rare—a significant difference when you're budgeting your home's operating costs over decades.
Is aluminum roofing better for the environment than asphalt shingles?
Yes. Aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable, meaning your roof can return to the material stream at end of life. Asphalt roofing, by contrast, ends the tear-off cycle in landfills: every 20 years, you remove millions of tons of shingles that decompose for centuries. Port Jefferson Station's annual 1222 mm of rainfall and 58 cm of snow mean typical asphalt roofs degrade faster here due to moisture and freeze-thaw stress, requiring earlier replacement. Interlock's aluminum roof lasts for your ownership and beyond, eliminating multiple tear-off events that your children might otherwise inherit. The lightweight design (no reinforcement needed) also reduces embodied carbon during installation. CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance burden, the aluminum roof represents genuine lifecycle sustainability rather than marketing language.
Can Interlock install a metal roof over my existing shingles?
Yes, in most cases. The lightweight design—Cedar Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft, Shake at 0.58, Tile at 0.59—means no structural reinforcement is needed and installation can proceed directly over existing asphalt, allowing faster completion and avoiding disposal costs. Your local installer, Interlock Roofing of America, has served the region since 2014 and can evaluate your specific roof's condition and fastening points to confirm compatibility. Installation follows ICC-ES ESR-1790 specification, ensuring the 120 mph wind warranty and Guardian Warranty apply. The process typically takes 2–4 weeks for a standard home depending on complexity, weather, and roof size. Over-roof installation also provides an additional insulation and air-sealing layer, which matters in Port Jefferson Station's climate with 54 freeze-thaw days annually.
