Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in East Setauket

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in East Setauket, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in East Setauket.

Will a metal roof handle East Setauket's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy contains no iron and cannot rust—a critical advantage where you experience about 54 freeze-thaw days annually. The oxide layer that forms on aluminum self-heals when scratched, meaning salt spray and repeated freezing do not degrade the material. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating, warranted 30 years against chalking, protects the substrate through winter's temperature swings, while the four-way interlocking panels shed water before it can collect and refreeze.

How does a metal roof perform under East Setauket's annual snow load?

Metal roofs shed snow more readily than asphalt because the smooth, slippery surface and tight seams prevent water from pooling and refreezing into ice dams. With about 58 cm of snow typical here, this matters: snow doesn't stick and accumulate as it does on textured shingles. Interlock's four-way interlocking system keeps moisture out entirely, and the panels install over your existing roof, so no tearoff is needed—avoiding winter weather delays. Optional snow guards preserve snow where you want it and direct slides safely.

Can metal roofing handle heavy rain in Suffolk County?

Absolutely. East Setauket receives about 1222 mm of rain annually, and Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to shed water instantly. The seams lock vertically and horizontally, channeling water away from the panel edges and into gutters. A solid deck plus underlayment beneath the metal—installed to ICC-ES ESR-1790 standards—creates two independent water barriers. This overlap is why metal roofs have virtually zero leak rates even during sustained downpours.

Why doesn't aluminum metal roofing rust like steel?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—rusting is an iron-only process. Instead, aluminum naturally forms a thin oxide layer that protects the base metal and actually self-heals when the surface is scratched or abraded. Interlock adds an additional shield: a Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both sides, warranted 30 years. This dual-layer approach means your roof resists the salt air and humidity typical of Long Island while staying structurally sound for decades, not years.

Is a metal roof safe in East Setauket's high winds?

Yes. Typical daily winds here reach about 21 km/h, with gusts recorded to 142 km/h, and Interlock's panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The four-way interlocking design—each panel locked on all four edges—distributes wind load across the entire roof structure. Combined with the lightweight construction (the Shingle profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft), there's no excess weight for wind to lift, and the mechanical fastening grips through your existing sheathing.

Can my home's frame handle a metal roof, or do I need reinforcement?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light—the Tile profile, which visually replicates concrete or clay, weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft and is roughly 96% lighter than real tile. The Shake profile comes in at 0.58 lb/sq ft. Because the metal roof installs directly over your existing sheathing and can even be placed over your current asphalt roof, your home's frame experiences virtually no additional load. This compatibility means faster, cleaner installation and lower labor cost.

Does Interlock metal roofing hold up to hail, and can it lower insurance costs?

Yes on both counts. Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many homeowners in Suffolk County have seen insurance premiums drop after installing a Class 4-rated roof because the material proves itself resistant to the hail events that damage asphalt shingles. Request a quote from your insurer; the documented impact rating is often enough to qualify for a discount that helps recover your roofing investment.

Will an Interlock metal roof reduce my cooling costs?

Select Interlock colors do lower cooling demand. energy-efficient options deliver thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning the roof reflects rather than absorbs heat that an asphalt shingle would trap. With about 3127 sunshine hours annually in East Setauket, this reflectance accumulates. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms measurable performance. The lighter colors stay cooler on hot days, reducing air-conditioning load over the roof's 50+ year lifespan and lowering your total energy outlay.

How long does an Interlock metal roof last, and what's covered?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. The Alunar coating itself carries a separate 30-year warranty against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 standards). If you sell your home, the warranty transfers once—the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from completion. This combination means you buy the last roof you'll ever need and can confidently transfer protection to future buyers, directly strengthening resale appeal.

Where can I find a qualified installer in East Setauket?

Interlock Roofing of America has installed Interlock metal roofs throughout Suffolk County and East Setauket since 2014, giving them a decade of experience with local freeze-thaw cycles, wind events, and seasonal rain patterns. They understand the code pathway (ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance), handle permits, and coordinate installation timing to avoid winter weather delays. A local installer also means faster warranty service and familiar relationships with local building departments—reducing back-and-forth and approvals. Reach out to confirm current service area and obtain a no-obligation site inspection.
