Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Kings Park

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Kings Park, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Kings Park.

How does a metal roof handle heavy snow in Kings Park winters?

Interlock's four-way interlocking panels shed snow safely without ice dam buildup, which matters when you're receiving about 63 cm annually. The aluminum's smooth profiles prevent snow from packing into edges, and you can add optional snow guards if desired. Unlike asphalt or wood shakes that trap moisture and freeze in your region's 66 freeze-thaw cycles per year, aluminum's non-porous surface resists the expansion and contraction damage that weakens traditional roofs over time.

Why do freeze-thaw cycles in Long Island winters affect some roofs but not aluminum?

When water enters asphalt, wood, or tile and freezes, it expands and causes cracking, curling, and splits. Aluminum doesn't absorb water, so freeze-thaw cycling cannot damage it from the inside—a critical advantage in Kings Park, where you experience about 66 freeze-thaw days annually. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years against degradation) seals the surface, and the material's oxide layer self-heals microscopic scratches, keeping moisture out year after year.

Can aluminum roofing rust or corrode in a wet climate like ours?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—rusting requires iron to oxidize. Instead, aluminum develops a thin, invisible oxide layer that actually protects the metal beneath and self-heals when scratched. For Kings Park's 1251 mm of annual rainfall, this matters: water runs off rather than pooling or corroding the substrate. Interlock uses 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 roofing-grade aluminum (ASTM B209) with a two-sided Alunar finish for extra durability in humid, wet climates.

With 1251 mm of rain annually, how does Interlock prevent leaks in heavy downpours?

The four-way interlocking panel design creates overlaps that direct water downward and outward, not inward. Each panel locks to its neighbors on all four sides, eliminating the gaps where water can penetrate. Combined with a solid deck and quality underlayment installed to ICC-ES ESR-1790 standards, the system channels rainfall away so quickly that standing water never forms. Even during Kings Park's heaviest rainy periods, the engineered slope and overlap geometry keep water moving toward gutters and drainage.

Is Interlock strong enough for the gusts we get here on Long Island?

Kings Park experiences wind gusts up to 135 km/h, and Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The interlocks create redundant mechanical fastening across all four panel edges, distributing wind load broadly rather than concentrating stress at a few points. This is why Interlock has been installed on coastal homes facing Atlantic salt-air and Antarctic research stations—the system was designed for extreme wind environments.

Will my homeowner's insurance recognize hail protection from a metal roof?

Interlock holds a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize UL 2218 Class 4 as a loss-prevention feature and offer premium discounts for roofs that exceed standard durability thresholds. Contact your carrier with the UL listing number (Intertek 33876) to inquire about your specific policy; many homeowners in high-hail regions have reduced their premiums after upgrading to Class 4-rated materials.

Do I need to reinforce my home's structure to support a metal roof?

No. Interlock's Shake profile installs at just 0.58 lb/sq ft and the Tile profile at 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This extraordinary lightness means no structural reinforcement is needed, and the panels install directly over most existing roofs without additional framing costs. For Kings Park homeowners, this translates to faster installation, lower labor expense, and no need for costly engineering reports or foundation work—you get a premium roof footprint without the structural burden.

What makes the Guardian Warranty different from what other roofing companies offer?

The Guardian is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—meaning it covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance for your entire ownership. It's also one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from the completion date. Unlike prorated warranties that pay less as the roof ages, this covers full replacement cost for material defects, no matter when they occur. For Kings Park homeowners planning long-term, that transferability adds resale appeal and genuine peace of mind.

Can I really lower cooling costs with a metal roof on Long Island?

Yes. Interlock's energy-efficient colors (available with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 in Aged Copper Penny) reflect heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt. Cool Roof Rating Council testing confirms the difference: while dark asphalt heats up in Kings Park's 3115 annual sunshine hours, reflective metal surfaces stay cooler and reduce the load on your air conditioning. The energy savings compound over decades, especially if you choose a high-reflectance finish suited to your home's orientation.

Is there an experienced installer serving Kings Park right now?

Yes. Interlock Roofing of America has served Suffolk County and the surrounding region since 2014, so they're familiar with Long Island's freeze-thaw cycles, salt air, heavy rainfall (1251 mm annually), and wind exposure (gusts to 135 km/h). Local experience means faster scheduling, continuity if warranty service is needed, and installers who understand how to prep your specific roof type for ice, snow, and coastal conditions. They're trained on the four-way interlocking panel system and ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance standards that protect your installation.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Kings Park’s climate?

Yes. Kings Park averages about 63 cm of snow, 1251 mm of rain, roughly 66 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 135 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
