Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Greenlawn

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Greenlawn, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Greenlawn.

How does a metal roof handle Greenlawn's heavy snow and ice buildup?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow efficiently because the smooth surface and panel overlap prevent ice damming—the leading cause of water damage in climates like Greenlawn, which averages about 63 cm of snow annually. The panels' lightweight design (the Shingle profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft) means snow load poses no structural risk, and the roof can be installed over your existing structure without reinforcement. Snow guards are optional and easily added if you prefer controlled shedding; the real advantage is that snow doesn't trap moisture against your home for the 66 freeze-thaw days per year typical here.

Will freeze-thaw cycles in New York damage aluminum roofing?

No—freeze-thaw cycles actually favor aluminum over traditional materials. Greenlawn experiences roughly 66 freeze-thaw days annually, and while asphalt becomes brittle and cracks, wood shakes split, and tile cracks under expansion stress, aluminum's crystalline structure flexes without permanent deformation. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy used in every Interlock panel is ASTM B209 roofing-grade, tested for exactly these conditions. The oxide layer that forms on aluminum naturally self-heals when scratched, sealing micro-damage before it propagates—a property steel simply cannot match.

Can an aluminum roof rust like steel roofing does?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—iron oxidation is what causes rust. Instead, aluminum develops a protective oxide layer that's self-healing; when scratched, it reforms automatically. This matters in Greenlawn's wet climate, which receives about 1251 mm of rain per year. Interlock panels use roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) with a two-sided Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish, which adds a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214). Steel roofs, by contrast, require constant vigilance against rust in high-rain environments.

Will my metal roof blow off in Greenlawn's nor'easters?

No. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, and Greenlawn's typical gusts reach about 135 km/h (84 mph). The four-way interlocking design—each panel locks to its neighbors on all four sides—distributes wind load across the entire roof plane rather than allowing panels to lift individually. This interlocking geometry, combined with proper fastening, is why the panels are trusted on coastal Antarctic research stations where winds far exceed Greenlawn's typical 18 km/h average. Your roof won't move.

Does Interlock metal roofing qualify for hail damage discounts?

Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest classification available—and the Guardian warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize this and offer material discounts; contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating. Greenlawn's risk is moderate but real, and homeowners who upgrade to a hail-resistant roof often recoup part of the investment through lower premiums over time. The aluminum's rigidity means it resists deformation and crater-forming that would compromise asphalt shingles.

Can a metal roof reduce cooling costs in summer?

Yes, if you choose an energy-efficient color. Interlock offers reflective finishes with initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84, both Cool Roof Rating Council rated. Greenlawn receives about 3115 sunshine hours per year, making heat reflection meaningful during warm months. These coatings reflect solar energy that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your home. The difference is measurable on your cooling bill, especially for south- and west-facing roofs. energy-efficiency certification backs the performance claim—it's not marketing, it's third-party verification.

What makes the Guardian warranty better than typical roofing warranties?

The Guardian is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—meaning you never pay a percentage increase for a claim, regardless of age. It covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance, and it's transferable once to the next owner for 50 years from completion. Most asphalt warranties are prorated and expire in 20–25 years; this one outlasts the house. Because aluminum cannot rust and the PVDF coating carries its own 30-year fade guarantee, the odds of claiming against manufacturing defect are extraordinarily low—but the promise is absolute.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need?

Minimal. Asphalt requires moss treatment, gutter cleaning from granule debris, and inspection every 3–5 years; wood shakes need annual treatment and resealing; tile cracks and requires individual replacement. Interlock aluminum requires only occasional gutter cleaning and a visual inspection every few years—that's it. The CALGreen-verified durability means no staining, no chemical treatments, no scheduled maintenance. Greenlawn's 1251 mm annual rainfall and salt-air exposure are exactly where aluminum excels because the Alunar coating is applied to both sides of the panel, protecting against corrosion from above and below. You literally own a roof that doesn't demand your attention.

Is metal roofing worth the higher upfront cost compared to asphalt?

Metal roofing costs more upfront than asphalt—typically 2–3 times the material price—but over the roof's life, it's the last roof you buy. Asphalt requires replacement every 15–25 years; a 50-year occupancy means 2–3 tearouts and 2–3 landfill contributions. Interlock, with its lifetime limited warranty and non-prorated coverage, typically lasts 50+ years with zero replacement. When you factor disposal costs ($1–2 per sq ft), labor for future reroof, and the certainty of never replacing again, aluminum becomes the lower total-cost choice. Add potential insurance discounts (UL 2218 Class 4 hail rating) and energy savings from energy-efficiency colors, and the payback accelerates.

Can a metal roof be installed over my existing roof?

Yes—one of aluminum's practical advantages. Because Interlock panels are extraordinarily light (the Tile profile is approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile), most existing roofs can support the installation without structural reinforcement. Interlock Roofing of America, serving this region since 2014, can install directly over your current shingles if they're structurally sound, eliminating costly tearout and landfill fees. The process typically takes 2–4 days for a standard residential roof. The installer removes the ridge cap and flashing, lays the aluminum panels, interlocks them four-way, and reseals the perimeter. Most homeowners stay in their house during installation.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Greenlawn’s climate?

Yes. Greenlawn averages about 63 cm of snow, 1251 mm of rain, roughly 66 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 135 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
