Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Central Islip

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Central Islip, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Central Islip.

Will a metal roof handle Central Islip's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking or warping?

Aluminum expands and contracts with temperature swings, but it won't crack, warp, or degrade the way asphalt, wood, or ceramic do—aluminum has no fibers to split and no glue to fail. Central Islip experiences roughly 54 freeze-thaw days per year with an average winter low around freezing; aluminum's ductility (its ability to flex under stress) keeps it intact through repeated icing and thawing. The 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 alloys used in Interlock panels are specifically chosen for cold-climate durability. Over a 50-year roof life, that's 2,700 freeze cycles—something asphalt simply cannot endure without brittleness, curling, and failure.

How does a metal roof perform under Central Islip's winter snow loads?

Central Islip receives about 58 centimeters of snow annually, and aluminum's slick surface naturally sheds snow faster than asphalt or wood shingles, reducing ice-dam formation on valleys and gutters. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels lock together so tightly that snow melt cannot work its way through seams into the home. A professional installation can include snow guards to match your roof's profile if you prefer to manage melt more gradually. At weights under 0.6 pounds per square foot—roughly 96% lighter than ceramic tile—there's zero need for structural reinforcement, so the roof sits safely over existing structures without engineer review or expensive framing upgrades.

With Central Islip getting over 1,200 mm of rain yearly, how does metal roofing prevent leaks?

Rainfall of 1,222 millimeters annually demands a roofing system that sheds water reliably; the four-way interlocking aluminum panels overlap like fish scales, with each lock creating a mechanical bond that water cannot penetrate sideways. When installed to ICC-ES ESR-1790 specification over solid decking with proper underlayment, the system performs exactly like asphalt in wet conditions—water runs down the slope and into gutters, not into seams. Aluminum oxide forms naturally on the metal surface and self-heals when scratched, so even minor handling damage during or after installation doesn't invite rust or corrosion. The Guardian warranty covers leak-related failures for the life of the original owner.

Can a metal roof withstand the gust speeds Central Islip sees?

Central Islip's typical wind gusts reach 142 kilometers per hour (about 88 miles per hour), and Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The mechanical interlocking system—unique among metal roofs—resists uplift by distributing lateral forces across the entire panel assembly rather than relying on fastener shear alone. UL 2218 Class 4 hail testing actually measures impact durability and wind resistance in tandem, and panels that earn Class 4 rating have proven structural integrity under extreme weather. Over a typical 50-year lifespan, your roof will face hundreds of coastal nor'easters and summer storms; the warranty gives you confidence that gust speeds won't compromise the roof's seal.

Do metal roofs qualify for homeowner insurance discounts, and how does hail affect them?

Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many homeowner policies offer premium reductions (typically 5–15%) for Class 4 metal roofs because insurers know the replacement cost is zero under normal hail events. Central Islip's climate features occasional severe weather, and aluminum's non-denting, non-puncturing behavior under impact differs sharply from asphalt shingles, which degrade invisibly over time and become uninsurable after a single significant hail event. Contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 rating; documentation of the rating usually qualifies you for a discount within 30 days of installation.

Can an aluminum roof rust or corrode in Central Islip's damp climate?

Rust occurs only when iron oxidizes; aluminum contains zero iron, so it physically cannot rust no matter how long it sits in coastal air or road salt spray. Instead, aluminum develops a thin, transparent oxide layer within hours of exposure to air, and this layer continuously self-heals when scratched or abraded—a process called passivation that requires no maintenance from you. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish applied to both sides of every Interlock panel (a feature unique among lightweight metal roofing) adds 30 years of chalking and fading resistance, backed by ASTM D4214 and D2244 testing. Central Islip's 1,222 mm annual rainfall and occasional freeze-thaw cycling will never degrade the underlying metal; the coating simply extends the already permanent lifespan.

Will a metal roof help with cooling costs in Central Islip's summer?

Central Islip receives about 3,127 hours of annual sunshine, and energy-efficient Interlock colors achieve thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55—meaning they reflect the heat that dark asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into your attic. That reflectivity translates to 10–20% cooling savings depending on your HVAC system and insulation; Cool Roof Rating Council data show homes with reflective roofs experience measurable interior temperature reduction on sunny days. Unlike asphalt, which darkens over time and loses reflectivity within 3–5 years, the Alunar fluorocarbon coating maintains color and reflectance throughout its 30-year warranty term. Over a 50-year lifespan, the energy savings compound significantly, especially as electricity costs rise.

What's the actual lifespan of an Interlock metal roof, and what does the warranty cover?

The Guardian warranty is a non-prorated lifetime limited material warranty for the original owner—it covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance with zero dollar limit and no annual cap. When you transfer the home, the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from completion, which matters to resale. Interlock panels, manufactured since 1998 from roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy and installed from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station, demonstrate 25+ years of real-world performance. Central Islip's 54 annual freeze-thaw days and 58 centimeters of snow constitute moderate-to-severe cycling stress; the warranty confirms that aluminum's inherent durability (no wood rot, no asphalt breakdown, no steel rust) protects you for life.

Can I get a metal roof that looks like slate, shake, or tile in Central Islip?

Interlock offers five profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—each cast from aluminum so the texture replicates the original material's visual depth and shadow line. The Tile profile, for instance, weighs only 0.59 pounds per square foot (about 96% lighter than ceramic or concrete tile), so installers can retrofit it over your existing roof without structural reinforcement or engineer approval—a practical advantage in older Central Islip homes. Each profile receives the same Alunar 70% PVDF coating and four-way interlocking system, so you're choosing aesthetics, not sacrificing durability. Whether you prefer the classic look of slate or the rustic charm of cedar, the aluminum substrate guarantees a roof that won't split, rot, or fade for 50+ years.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or tile?

Aluminum roofing is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance: no algae growth (aluminum is not organic), no moss, no UV-induced brittleness like asphalt, and no mortar cracking like tile or slate. Central Islip's 1,222 mm annual rainfall and 58 centimeters of snow mean organic debris collects on any sloped roof; metal simply sheds leaves and pine needles faster than asphalt because water flows off the smooth Alunar-coated surface without adhesion. A professional inspection every 5 years (far less frequent than asphalt's 2–3 year cycle) and annual gutter clearing are your only tasks. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, so you won't see color loss or surface degradation. Over 50 years, the maintenance burden and cost are a fraction of asphalt's.
