Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Lake Grove

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Lake Grove, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Lake Grove.

Will a metal roof hold up to Lake Grove's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes. Aluminum expands and contracts with temperature changes, but it does so uniformly without cracking, splitting, or curling—problems that plague asphalt and wood in freeze-thaw climates. Lake Grove experiences about 54 freeze-thaw days per year, and Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) is engineered to cycle through those temperature swings indefinitely without degradation. The four-way interlocking system accommodates movement while maintaining a weathertight seal. This durability is why Interlock panels have performed flawlessly from salt-air coasts to Antarctic research stations.

How does a metal roof perform under Lake Grove's snow load?

Metal roofing sheds snow efficiently and supports the weight without sagging or leaking. Lake Grove averages about 58 cm of snow annually, creating ice-dam risk on darker roofs that melt snow unevenly. Interlock's lightweight design—the Cedar Shingle profile weighs only 0.41 lb/sq ft—eliminates the need for structural reinforcement, and its smooth, low-friction surface encourages snow to slide off naturally rather than accumulate. If you prefer to retain snow for insulation, optional snow guards are available. The four-way interlocking panels prevent any water infiltration, even when meltwater repeatedly freezes and thaws.

Can Interlock metal roofing handle Lake Grove's wind gusts?

Absolutely. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Lake Grove's typical gusts reach about 142 km/h, well within that rating. The interlocking design means each panel locks mechanically to its neighbors in all four directions—up, down, left, and right—creating a unified system that distributes lateral wind load across the entire roof rather than concentrating stress on fasteners. This engineered redundancy is why the system performs reliably in both coastal storms and inland wind events.

Will an aluminum metal roof rust in Lake Grove's humid climate?

No. Aluminum contains no iron—iron is what rusts in steel. Interlock panels are made from roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), which forms a self-healing oxide layer when exposed to air. If you scratch the coating, the aluminum underneath immediately begins forming a new protective oxide layer, sealing the scratch naturally. This is why Interlock has installed successfully for 27 years since 1998, from salt-air coastal homes where corrosion is a constant threat to inland regions like Lake Grove. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish adds another 30-year-warranted layer of protection against chalking and fading.

How does metal roofing protect against Lake Grove's annual rainfall?

The four-way interlocking system creates a rainproof barrier without relying on sealants or caulk. Lake Grove receives about 1222 mm (48 inches) of rain per year, delivered in frequent nor'easters and seasonal storms. Water runs off the smooth, sloped panels and drains through the interlocked seams, which are engineered so water flows down and outward—never inward. The panels are installed over a solid deck and underlayment, just like asphalt, so water that somehow breaches the outer layer has a secondary moisture barrier beneath. Homeowners report that metal roofing over a properly prepared substrate is as leak-free as any roof system available.

Does Interlock's hail rating help with insurance in Lake Grove?

Yes, potentially. Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While Lake Grove's hail risk is lower than storm-prone regions inland, severe weather does occur. Many insurance carriers recognize the Class 4 rating and offer discounts on homeowners policies for non-combustible, impact-resistant roofing. Contact your insurer with the UL 2218 Class 4 documentation; some will reduce your premium immediately, and others will credit the savings against your deductible. The peace of mind—and potential savings—make this a smart financial hedge.

What maintenance does a metal roof really need?

Very little compared to asphalt or wood. Asphalt shingles require regular inspections, gutter cleaning, moss treatment, and replacement after 15–20 years. Cedar shake and tile demand annual sealing, crack repair, and constant upkeep. Interlock metal roofing needs only occasional gutter cleaning and a visual inspection—perhaps once every few years. The aluminum doesn't rot, split, curl, or lose granules; the Alunar coating is warranted against fading and chalking for 30 years. Over Lake Grove's 54 freeze-thaw days and 1222 mm of annual rainfall, that means no surprises, no emergency repairs, and no Saturday mornings on a ladder with a caulking gun.

Is metal roofing more affordable than asphalt over time?

Yes, over the roof's full lifespan. Asphalt costs less upfront but requires replacement every 15–20 years, adding labor and disposal fees repeatedly. Interlock metal roofing costs more initially but lasts 50+ years (the Guardian Warranty is lifetime for the original owner and transfers 50 years to the next owner), requires minimal maintenance, and eliminates the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle. Over a 50-year period, you're paying for one roof installation instead of three asphalt replacements. Factor in avoided maintenance, no gutter damage from falling debris, and potential insurance discounts for the Class 4 hail rating, and the metal roof becomes the last roof you'll buy—a genuine cost advantage.

Can my house handle a metal roof without expensive structural work?

Yes. Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily lightweight—the Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft, roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This means no structural reinforcement is needed, and the roof installs directly over most existing structures, even legacy homes with older framing. For comparison, traditional tile can weigh 12–18 lb/sq ft; Interlock tile weighs less than 1. Lake Grove homes built in any era can accommodate it. Many homeowners save thousands by avoiding structural upgrades entirely. If your home currently supports asphalt shingles, it easily supports Interlock metal roofing—just faster, with superior durability.

Who installs Interlock roofing in Lake Grove?

Interlock Roofing of America has served Lake Grove and the Suffolk County region since 2014, with a decade of local expertise installing the four-way interlocking system across residential and commercial properties. They understand Lake Grove's climate—the 1222 mm of annual rainfall, the 58 cm of snow, the 54 freeze-thaw cycles, and the occasional nor'easter wind gust—and design installations to handle all of it. They're familiar with local building codes (ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance), homeowners association requirements, and the permitting process. Getting a local, experienced installer means faster scheduling, warranty support from someone who knows your roof, and peace of mind that the job is done right.
