Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Lake Ronkonkoma

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Lake Ronkonkoma, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Lake Ronkonkoma.

Does metal roofing handle heavy snow and ice buildup in Lake Ronkonkoma winters?

Yes—the four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow efficiently and resist ice dam formation. Lake Ronkonkoma averages about 58 cm of snow annually with roughly 54 freeze-thaw cycles per year, creating ideal conditions for ice-dam problems on conventional roofs. The smooth, non-porous surface of Interlock's profiles prevents water absorption and thermal bridging that traps melt. The panels are warranted to 120 mph wind, which easily handles the region's typical gusts near 142 km/h that break ice dams loose. Metal's light weight—the Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft—eliminates snow-load stress that conventional roofing systems can't shed.

Will freeze-thaw cycles in New York damage an aluminum metal roof?

No. Aluminum is fundamentally immune to the freeze-thaw damage that destroys asphalt and wood. With 54 freeze-thaw days annually in Lake Ronkonkoma, traditional shingles absorb water during the thaw cycle, freeze solid when temperatures drop below 0°C, and crack or curl under the expansion stress. Aluminum contains no iron and cannot rust; its oxide layer self-heals when scratched. The 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 alloy and dual-sided Alunar 70% PVDF coating are engineered for coastal and cold climates—the product has been installed from salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations since 1998. The Guardian warranty covers cracking, curling, and splitting for the original owner's lifetime.

Can aluminum metal roofing rust like steel roofing does?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—rust is iron oxide, and aluminum is a different metal entirely. Instead, aluminum develops a microscopic self-healing oxide layer that protects it from corrosion. In Lake Ronkonkoma's climate, with about 1,222 mm of rainfall annually and seasonal salt air exposure from coastal proximity, this is a decisive advantage over steel. Interlock panels use roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both sides—extra insurance in salt-laden air. The 30-year coating warranty against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 / D2244 measured) ensures long-term protection without corrosion-driven deterioration.

How does a metal roof handle Lake Ronkonkoma's annual rainfall?

The four-way interlocking panel design and sealed seams prevent water infiltration even under the region's 1,222 mm of annual rainfall. Each panel locks to its neighbors on all four sides, creating a continuous water-shedding surface with no exposed fasteners. Proper installation over a solid deck with underlayment and ice-and-water shield ensures water flows to gutters rather than pooling or backing up under panels—the same principle that keeps asphalt roofs dry. Interlock's ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms compliance with IBC/IRC water-resistance standards. The Guardian warranty covers perforation, which addresses the remote possibility of impact puncture; UL 2218 Class 4 rating handles hailstones up to 1.5 inches without compromising the roof's leak-resistance.

Can a metal roof withstand Lake Ronkonkoma's strong gusts and nor'easters?

Yes. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h)—well beyond the region's typical maximum gusts of about 142 km/h. Lake Ronkonkoma's mean daily winds run about 21 km/h with occasional severe gusts that test conventional roofing. Each panel locks to its neighbors on all four sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof system rather than relying on fasteners alone. When installed to specification, this interlocking geometry passes the high-wind standards embedded in ICC-ES ESR-1790 (IBC/IRC, reissued 2025). The lightweight design—Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft—reduces the aerodynamic load that makes heavy roofing vulnerable to peeling or blow-off during nor'easters.

What's the hail rating on metal roofing, and can it lower my insurance?

Interlock metal roofing carries the UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This is relevant in Lake Ronkonkoma, where severe thunderstorms occur and hail is an occasional risk. Many homeowners' insurers recognize Class 4 impact resistance and offer premium discounts because claims are far less likely. You'll want to contact your agent with the UL 2218 rating and ICC-ES report ESR-1790 in hand; some carriers explicitly credit Class 4 roofing. The aluminum alloy's hardness and the multi-layered panel profile absorb impact energy that would crack or crack asphalt. Unlike traditional roofing, impact damage doesn't create entry points for water penetration—the interlocking seams remain intact.

Do I need to reinforce my home's structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock metal roofing is extraordinarily light—the Tile profile installs at just 0.59 lb/sq ft, about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most homes' existing frames easily support this weight load. Because aluminum is so light, Interlock panels install directly over most existing asphalt roofing without removal or structural work—a significant cost and waste advantage. Lake Ronkonkoma's roughly 58 cm of annual snow adds weight that a lightweight roof handles efficiently; the roofing structure itself doesn't become a burden during winter. The four-way interlocking design distributes any load (snow, wind pressure) across the entire roof plane, preventing stress concentration on fasteners or framing points. This is one reason ICC-ES ESR-1790 allows installation over existing roofs—no reinforcement required.

Does a metal roof keep my house cooler and reduce air conditioning costs?

Yes, if you choose an energy-efficient color. Interlock offers energy-efficient colors with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny and lighter finishes), meaning they reflect heat rather than absorb it like dark asphalt. Lake Ronkonkoma averages about 3,127 sunshine hours annually—enough that reflective roofing meaningfully reduces cooling demand on hot days. Cool Roof Rating Council ratings confirm that energy-efficiency aluminum reflects solar radiation that asphalt absorbs and converts to attic heat. The light weight also allows better attic ventilation without structural penalty. During the region's warmer months, this translates to lower air conditioning runtime and utility bills. Darker Interlock colors (like Slate or Cedar Shingle profiles) prioritize aesthetics and thermal mass; energy-efficiency options prioritize energy savings.

What does the Interlock metal roof warranty really cover?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's also one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from the completion date. In Lake Ronkonkoma, where freeze-thaw cycles (54 annually) and salt air stress roofing, this covers the specific failure modes that destroy conventional materials. The 30-year coating warranty against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 / D2244 measured) is separate and ensures the Alunar 70% PVDF finish resists weathering. Non-prorated means if a panel fails in year 25, you get a replacement at no cost—not a depreciating refund. This warranty structure reflects aluminum's durability; the product has performed since 1998 without the material degradation that forces conventional roofs into replacement cycles every 15–20 years.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need versus asphalt or tile?

Metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance compared to asphalt, wood, or tile. Unlike asphalt shingles, which require periodic patching and replacement of failed sections every 15–20 years, or cedar shake that needs chemical treatment to resist rot and insect damage in wet climates, aluminum has no substrate to decay. Lake Ronkonkoma's 1,222 mm annual rainfall and 54 freeze-thaw cycles would accelerate rot in wood and water absorption in asphalt. Interlock's aluminum alloy and Alunar coating are inert—no granule loss, no cupping, no moss growth on the smooth surface. Tile roofing, by contrast, requires periodic mortar repointing and is fragile. Interlock panels shed debris, ice, and snow naturally without fastener corrosion or seal failure. Routine gutter cleaning and occasional visual inspection are all that's needed. This maintenance-free profile qualifies the roofing as CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, lowering your long-term ownership costs dramatically versus any traditional material.
