What our customers are saying:
I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.
I wasted 4 months of my time thinking i will have a beautiful metal roof just to learn that interlock will not be able to do it after all
Interlock Roofing could have improved their communication.
I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.
We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.
I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.
My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.
To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Patchogue
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Patchogue, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Patchogue.
Will metal roofing hold up through Patchogue winters with all the freeze-thaw cycles?
Yes — aluminum roofing is ideal for your climate's roughly 54 freeze-thaw days per year. Unlike asphalt shingles, which crack and curl when water seeps into the substrate and freezes, aluminum panels are solid and non-porous. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy doesn't expand or contract at freeze boundaries the way wood or composite materials do. The self-healing oxide layer resists the salt spray that's common near the coast, so freeze cycles won't accelerate corrosion. Combined with proper installation over a solid deck, you get a roof that actually strengthens under those repeated temperature swings.
How does a metal roof handle heavy snow and ice buildup?
Metal roofing sheds snow and ice more effectively than asphalt, especially with proper slope and drainage design. Patchogue receives about 58 cm of snow yearly, and your installer can add snow guards to your profile (Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, or Tile) to control sliding and protect walkways. The lightweight panels — the Shingle profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft — mean the structural load from accumulated snow is minimal compared to traditional slate or tile. Your existing framing won't need reinforcement. Ice dams are also less likely because the aluminum's thermal properties and continuous deck underneath allow proper ventilation, reducing the freeze-thaw cycle that creates dams.
Won't heavy rain find its way through the seams?
Patchogue averages 1222 mm of rain annually, and the four-way interlocking panel system is designed to shed water continuously without pooling. Each panel locks to its neighbors on all four sides, creating a unified weather barrier that overlaps like fish scales. Heavy rainfall flows directly off the standing seam or shingle profile without penetrating the joint lines. Installation over a solid deck with underlayment prevents water from ever reaching the substrate — even if a fastener were to loosen (which the interlocking design minimizes), water can't migrate sideways into the structure. This system has been proven from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station.
Can a metal roof survive Patchogue's coastal wind gusts?
Yes — gusts recorded here reach about 142 km/h, and the Interlock four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to spec. The interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors on all four sides, creating a unified structural system rather than independent shingles that can lift or separate. The aluminum alloy is non-combustible (Class A fire rating available per ICC-ES ESR-1790) and won't degrade under salt-laden wind stress like asphalt or wood. Local coastal installers have been using this system since 2014 without wind-related failures, even in storm seasons.
Will my homeowner's insurance recognize the hail rating on a metal roof?
Absolutely — the Interlock system carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, which is the highest available and often qualifies for insurance discounts. The warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. When you file a claim after hail damage, your insurer will see the Class 4 rating and recognize that the risk profile is far lower than asphalt shingles. Some insurers offer 10–20% discounts for Class 4 roofs because claims are rare. Contact your agent with the product specs — they'll have underwriting tables for metal roofing. Many Patchogue homeowners have recovered their premium savings within 5–10 years.
Why should I pick aluminum roofing instead of steel near the coast?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron — steel does, and salt air will corrode it in years, not decades. The 3105-H24 roofing-grade aluminum alloy forms a self-healing oxide layer that seals itself when scratched or dented. Interlock applies Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating to both sides of every panel, with a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading per ASTM standards. The double-sided coating is crucial in Patchogue's salt-spray environment. Over a 50-year roof life, steel would require repainting or replacement, while aluminum simply grows tougher. Coastal homes from British Columbia to salt-air zones worldwide have used this system since 1998.
How long will the roof last and what's actually covered?
The Guardian warranty is a lifetime limited non-prorated material warranty for you, the original owner — covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's also transferable one time, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion. That's genuinely rare in roofing. With Patchogue's 54 freeze-thaw days and 1222 mm annual rainfall, aluminum won't degrade like asphalt (which fails at 15–20 years) or wood (which splits after 10–15 seasons). The Alunar coating extends another 30 years of fade protection. Most owners never file a claim; the roof simply outlasts ownership cycles. That's why it's marketed as the last roof you'll buy.
Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for metal roofing?
No structural reinforcement is needed, thanks to aluminum's extraordinary light weight. The Tile profile, which replicates traditional slate or clay tile aesthetics, weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft — roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. The Shake profile is 0.58 lb/sq ft, and the Shingle just 0.41 lb/sq ft. Traditional slate weighs 10–15 lb/sq ft; most older Patchogue homes were never built for that load. With metal, you install over your existing roof without adding structural strain. The existing framing bears no additional stress, which means no expensive engineering or reinforcement work. This also reduces installation cost and timeline — another reason the system installs so quickly compared to slate or tile alternatives.
What's the maintenance schedule for an aluminum metal roof?
Virtually none — the system is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance. Unlike asphalt shingles, which require annual inspection and replacement of lifted tabs, aluminum panels don't curl, crack, or shed granules. Unlike wood shake, which splits and requires resealing, aluminum has no grain to weather or biological life cycle. The four-way interlocking design prevents debris from lodging in seams. In Patchogue's about 3127 sunshine hours and 1222 mm annual rainfall, the roof simply sheds water and light without deteriorating. Occasionally rinse salt spray residue off if you're within a mile of the coast. That's it. Over 50 years, the maintenance savings alone often exceed the installation cost difference versus asphalt.
Do the reflective coatings actually lower cooling costs in summer?
Yes — select Interlock colors are energy-efficient with thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile). Cool Roof Rating Council testing shows these colors reflect heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into the home. Patchogue receives about 3127 sunshine hours annually, so that reflection adds up. On a 90°F day, a reflective metal roof stays 20–30°F cooler than asphalt, reducing air-conditioning runtime and demand charges. The lightweight aluminum also allows proper ventilation under the deck, preventing the heat buildup that drives cooling loads. Over a 10-year period, energy savings typically offset 15–25% of installation cost depending on your cooling profile and utility rates.
