Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Commack

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Commack, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Commack.

How does a metal roof handle heavy snow in Commack winters?

Interlock's four-way interlocking panels shed snow and ice efficiently because the smooth, hard aluminum surface prevents adhesion that traps moisture on asphalt. Commack averages about 63 cm of snow annually with roughly 66 freeze-thaw cycles per year—conditions that cause asphalt shingles to cup and curl. Aluminum's self-healing oxide layer resists degradation from repeated freezing, thawing, and salt spray. Snow guards are available if you prefer controlled shedding. The lightweight design (Cedar Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural upgrades needed, even under peak snow load.

Will freeze-thaw cycles crack or damage a metal roof?

No—roofing-grade aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) has no iron content, so it cannot rust, and its oxide layer actually self-heals when scratched, making it immune to the spalling and micro-cracking that plague asphalt and concrete tiles in freeze-thaw environments. Commack experiences about 66 freeze-thaw days per year with annual snowfall near 63 cm, yet Interlock panels installed here since 2014 show zero freeze-related failures. The Guardian warranty explicitly covers cracking and curling over the original owner's lifetime. Aluminum expands and contracts uniformly, without the brittleness that develops in older roofing materials.

Does Interlock metal roofing get damaged by hail, and will my insurance cover it?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian warranty explicitly covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 ratings often qualify for homeowner insurance discounts because the roof resists damage that would total asphalt shingles. Ask your insurer about impact-resistant credits; many carriers provide them for UL 2218 Class 4 roofs. Commack's typical wind gusts reach about 135 km/h, and hail often accompanies severe wind events. This durability, combined with the non-prorated lifetime limited warranty, eliminates the financial exposure homeowners face with conventional roofing after impact events.

Can Interlock metal roofing withstand Commack's wind gusts?

Yes—the four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Commack's typical daily winds average about 18 km/h, with gusts recorded to about 135 km/h, so Interlock's design exceeds your local gust history with a substantial safety margin. The interlocking seams distribute lateral load across all four edges of each panel, preventing the uplift and flutter that damage conventional shingle roofs. This engineering has been proven since 1998 across installations from coastal sites to Antarctic research stations, where wind pressures are extreme.

How does metal roofing perform in heavy rain?

Commack receives about 1251 mm of rainfall annually, and metal roofing's solid aluminum surface sheds water faster than asphalt because it has no absorption. The four-way interlocking seams overlap on all sides, creating a labyrinth that blocks water from migrating upward under wind-driven rain. Installation over solid decking with underlayment—standard practice at Interlock Roofing of America since 2014—adds a secondary water barrier. The Guardian lifetime warranty covers leaking, so if water intrusion ever occurs, it is your permanent guarantee. Metal roofs have zero maintenance compared to asphalt, which deteriorates as rainfall accumulates in shingle valleys.

Is Interlock metal roofing worth the cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Interlock costs more upfront but eliminates the asphalt cycle of replacement every 15–20 years. The Guardian provides a lifetime limited, non-prorated warranty to the original owner and is transferable to the next owner for 50 years—making this your last roof purchase. Over 50 years, a typical home replaces asphalt shingles 2–3 times and sends tons to landfill; Interlock installs once and is 95% recyclable. Because aluminum is so light (Cedar Shingle at 0.41 lb/sq ft), installation often proceeds over your existing roof with no tear-off labor or disposal costs. Your local installer, Interlock Roofing of America, can model the true lifecycle cost for your property.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for metal roofing?

No structural reinforcement is required. Interlock aluminum panels are extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft, roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most homes can handle this weight on existing framing without modification. This lightness also means installation over your current roof is feasible in most cases, eliminating expensive tear-off labor. Interlock Roofing of America has installed thousands of roofs since 2014 without reinforcement costs. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms compliance with IBC/IRC structural code, giving your inspector confidence that no upgrades are needed.

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt?

Yes—Interlock aluminum panels are approximately 95% recyclable at end-of-life, ending the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle that buries tons of old shingles. Because panels install over most existing roofs without tear-off, you eliminate that disposal burden immediately. Commack's 1251 mm annual rainfall means your current asphalt roof absorbs water and degrades, eventually requiring removal and landfill. Interlock's solid aluminum surface sheds water instead, extending service life and deferring waste. The panels are verified by CALGreen standards for reduced maintenance, meaning no chemical treatments or frequent repairs. After 50+ years, aluminum retains value as a recyclable commodity; asphalt shingles do not.

What maintenance does Interlock metal roofing require?

Virtually none. Unlike asphalt shingles, which crack, curl, and lose granules in Commack's 66 annual freeze-thaw cycles, metal panels require no inspection, no granule replacement, and no sealant reapplication. After rain or snowmelt, the solid aluminum surface dries completely, preventing the moisture retention that rots wood shakes and promotes algae growth. No de-icing chemicals are needed because snow slides off easily. The Guardian warranty is non-prorated for the original owner's lifetime and transferable for 50 years—eliminating worry about unexpected damage. Once installed by Interlock Roofing of America, your roof performs with zero scheduled maintenance cost.

Who installs Interlock roofing in Commack?

Interlock Roofing of America has served the Commack and Suffolk County region since 2014, installing metal roofs that handle local winters with 63 cm average snowfall, about 66 freeze-thaw cycles, and wind gusts to 135 km/h. They understand the salt-air and rain exposure (1251 mm annually) that affects roofing durability here. The installer manages the entire process—from structural assessment to installation over your existing roof—and stands behind every job with The Guardian warranty. Contact Interlock Roofing of America for a site visit; they can answer regional questions, review your current roof, and model your specific lifecycle costs and timeline.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Commack’s climate?

Yes. Commack averages about 63 cm of snow, 1251 mm of rain, roughly 66 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 135 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
