Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Huntington Station

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Huntington Station, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Huntington Station.

Will a metal roof handle freeze-thaw cycles in a New York winter?

Yes—aluminum's non-rusting composition makes it exceptionally durable through freeze-thaw cycling. Huntington Station experiences roughly 66 freeze-thaw days per year, where water trapped under asphalt expands, cracks shingles, and accelerates decay. Aluminum oxide never degrades from ice expansion or contraction. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 alloy (ASTM B209) and dual-sided Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating (30-year warranty against weathering) remain intact through thousands of seasonal cycles, making it ideal for your climate's typical daily-max winds and freeze patterns.

How does an Interlock metal roof perform under heavy snow and ice?

The four-way interlocking panels shed snow and ice efficiently while resisting the weight load. Huntington Station receives about 63 cm of snow annually across roughly 3115 sunshine hours, meaning snow melts faster on a reflective surface that doesn't absorb heat the way asphalt does. Snow guards are available to prevent sudden slides in high-roof situations. The lightweight aluminum design (Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement is needed, unlike slate or concrete tile, which would require expensive foundation work to handle identical snow loads.

Can an aluminum roof rust in a humid, rainy climate like New York?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes in steel. Instead, aluminum develops a microscopic oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, providing permanent protection even in humid or salt-air environments. Suffolk County's 1251 mm annual rainfall and coastal proximity mean exposure to moisture and occasional salt spray. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) has been installed from coastal homes to Antarctic research stations since 1998. The dual-sided Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish adds a 30-year weathering warranty for extra peace of mind in wet climates.

Is an Interlock metal roof strong enough for coastal New York wind gusts?

Yes—Huntington Station's typical gusts reach 135 km/h, and the roof is warranted to resist up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The four-way interlocking panel design locks each shingle to its neighbors, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than allowing individual shingles to lift or separate. This engineering is verified in ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (IBC/IRC, reissued 2025). The lightweight aluminum (about 0.5 lb/sq ft for most profiles) means less mass for wind to push against, compared to slate or clay tile, which are both heavier and more prone to individual piece failure in high-wind events.

How does the total cost of an Interlock metal roof compare to replacing asphalt shingles multiple times?

Asphalt typically lasts 15–20 years in climates with 1251 mm annual rainfall and 66 freeze-thaw cycles—Huntington Station's pattern. Over 60 years, that means 3–4 full tear-offs, each costing labor, hauling, and landfill fees. Interlock's lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty (The Guardian) covers the original owner forever and transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. One installation replaces multiple asphalt cycles, eliminating replacement labor costs and environmental impact of repeated landfill disposal.

Can a metal roof withstand hail, and will my insurance company care?

Interlock metal roofs carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 is the same standard that qualifies slate and concrete tile roofs for insurance discounts in high-hail regions. While Huntington Station doesn't face severe hail, the Class 4 rating provides extra protection and may reduce your insurance premium (verify with your carrier). The aluminum profile withstands impacts that would crack asphalt shingles or tile, reducing the risk of leaks and claims during unexpected weather events.

What maintenance does a metal roof actually require?

Minimal—the biggest advantage over asphalt, wood, or clay tile. Asphalt requires regular inspection for granule loss, algae, and curling, especially in humid climates like yours with 1251 mm of rain annually. Aluminum is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance because the Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish resists algae, moss, and discoloration for 30 years. Wood shakes split and rot in your freeze-thaw environment (66 cycles per year); tile cracks and requires individual piece replacement. Interlock panels simply need occasional debris clearing and can be safely walked on for inspection or repairs, unlike brittle tile.

What's the real lifespan of an Interlock roof, and what does the warranty actually cover?

The Guardian warranty is lifetime limited, non-prorated coverage of the original homeowner for rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once—the next owner gets 50 years from completion. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating carries a separate 30-year warranty against chalking and fading (energy-efficient for thermal properties). These terms reflect the roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy's proven durability: the company has manufactured panels since 1998 and installed them across climates from coastal salt-air to Antarctica. Real-world data, not marketing promises, backs the longevity.

Is a metal roof better for the environment than asphalt shingles?

Substantially—aluminum is about 95% recyclable at end-of-life, whereas asphalt shingles become landfill waste. Over a typical homeowner's tenure, asphalt generates multiple tear-offs: with Huntington Station's 1251 mm rainfall and 66 freeze-thaw days per year accelerating breakdown, you'd replace shingles 3–4 times in 60 years. Each replacement cycle means disposal, transportation, and landfill impact. Interlock's single installation lasts a lifetime (with 50-year transferability), eliminating the tear-off-to-landfill cycle. When the roof eventually reaches end-of-life, the aluminum scrap has genuine resale value and enters established recycling streams, unlike degraded asphalt.

How long does installation take, and can it be installed over my old shingles?

Most residential installations complete in 1–3 days depending on roof size and complexity. Interlock roofs can install directly over existing asphalt, composite, or metal, provided the deck is sound—no tear-off required, which saves labor and waste. A solid deck plus underlayment is installed beneath the panels, so the roof is acoustically comparable to asphalt in rain (contrary to the metal-roof-noise myth). Interlock Roofing of America has served the region since 2014 and handles local permitting and inspections. The lightweight aluminum panels (0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile) mean faster installation and no need for structural reinforcement, even over existing roofs in Huntington Station.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Huntington Station’s climate?

Yes. Huntington Station averages about 63 cm of snow, 1251 mm of rain, roughly 66 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 135 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
