Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Manorville

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Manorville, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Manorville.

Will a metal roof handle Manorville's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking or warping?

Yes—aluminum's molecular structure is immune to freeze-thaw damage that degrades asphalt and wood. Manorville experiences about 54 freeze-thaw days annually, where temperature swings expand and contract roofing material repeatedly. Aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without cracking, splitting, or curling, unlike asphalt shingles that become brittle in cold and soft in sun. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM standards) remains flexible through these cycles, protecting the panel underneath. This resilience is why Interlock panels installed since 1998 perform reliably from coastal climates to an Antarctic research station.

How does an aluminum metal roof perform under Manorville's snow load?

Interlock's lightweight aluminum design handles snow safely without burdening your home's structure. Manorville receives about 58 cm of snow per year over roughly 3127 sunshine hours, meaning snow stays longer but regular sun exposure helps melting. The panel weight ranges from 0.41 lb/sq ft (Shingle profile) to 0.59 lb/sq ft (Tile), so accumulated snow load poses no structural risk—even a 60 cm snowpack adds less weight than traditional slate. The four-way interlocking seams prevent wind-driven snow infiltration, and the smooth surface sheds melt efficiently. Snow guards are available if desired to manage avalanche risk on steep pitches, but the roof itself won't sag, leak, or require reinforcement under typical regional snowfall.

Does a metal roof leak in heavy rain, especially with Manorville's 1200+ mm of annual rainfall?

No—four-way interlocking aluminum panels create overlapping seals that shed water faster than it can pool, even during sustained downpours. Manorville averages about 1222 mm of rain yearly; the panel's standing ribs and the interlocking design channel water laterally and downward without creating ponding zones. When installed properly over a solid deck and underlayment (standard practice), the system is as watertight as asphalt—but without asphalt's gradual granule loss that eventually causes leaks. The interlocking mechanism itself prevents water from creeping sideways between panels. Your local installer, Interlock Roofing of America, has served this region since 2014 and understands Suffolk County's moisture patterns and installation requirements to ensure zero-leak performance.

Can an aluminum metal roof withstand Manorville's wind gusts?

Yes—Interlock aluminum roofs are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph, well above the typical daily-max winds of about 21 km/h (13 mph) and gusts to 142 km/h (88 mph) that Manorville experiences. The four-way interlocking panels resist uplift by overlapping on all edges, preventing wind from catching panel corners or lifting seams the way flat shingles do. Each panel locks into its neighbors horizontally and vertically, distributing gust forces across the entire roof rather than stressing individual fasteners. This engineered redundancy is why ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 (reissued 2025) approves Interlock panels for high-wind zones. Even during nor'easters typical of Long Island, your roof stays secure without the peeling, curling, or blow-off risks that plague asphalt in sustained gusts.

Will hail damage my aluminum roof, and could I get an insurance discount?

Interlock aluminum roofs carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 means the roof withstands 2-inch steel ball drops from 20 feet without cracking, far exceeding typical hail risk. Many insurers recognize this non-prorated durability and offer premium discounts; contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 certification. Manorville's climate includes occasional severe weather, but an aluminum roof's combination of light weight (no structural collapse risk) and impact resistance means your home stays protected and your claims risk drops. The warranty's perforation coverage is unique to metal roofing and reflects the material's genuine toughness—not marketing hype.

I've heard metal roofs rust. Does that apply to aluminum?

No—aluminum roofs cannot rust because aluminum contains no iron, the element that oxidizes into rust. When aluminum exposed to air, it forms a thin, invisible oxide layer that actually protects the metal underneath; if that layer is scratched, it self-heals. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating (applied to both sides) adds a second protective barrier, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. This dual protection is especially critical in regions with salt air or freeze-thaw cycles like Manorville, where asphalt and steel roofs corrode and degrade. Interlock panels have been installed in coastal salt-air homes for over 25 years without rust, and in freeze-thaw environments experiencing roughly 54 annual cycles. Aluminum's non-corrosive nature means your roof ages gracefully rather than deteriorating into holes and leaks.

What roof maintenance does an aluminum metal roof actually need?

Minimal—aluminum roofs don't require the ongoing maintenance that asphalt, wood shake, or tile demand. Asphalt shingles need granule replacement and nail-pop repairs every 5–7 years, especially after 54 annual freeze-thaw cycles. Wood shake splits and rots within 15–20 years. Tile cracks under impact. Aluminum doesn't split, rot, curl, or lose structural integrity. Seasonal debris clearing (leaves, pine needles) takes 30 minutes; no treatments, sealants, or re-coatings needed. The Alunar coating is maintenance-free for 30 years, and CALGreen building standards recognize aluminum as reduced-maintenance. Your only tasks are occasional gutter cleaning and removing debris—the same as any roof. This simplicity is why homeowners often choose aluminum: buy it once, install it right, and essentially forget about it until a successor owner inherits 50 more years of coverage.

Is an aluminum metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Yes—over the roof's lifetime, aluminum is almost always cheaper than repeated asphalt replacements. Asphalt roofs last 15–25 years in freeze-thaw regions; Manorville's 54 annual freeze-thaw days accelerate deterioration. Expect 2–3 asphalt replacements per 50 years, each costing $8,000–$15,000 plus labor and disposal. Aluminum costs more upfront but lasts 50+ years with zero replacement, zero major repairs, and minimal maintenance. The Guardian Warranty is lifetime non-prorated for the original owner and transferable to the next owner for 50 years—unmatched durability that survives market swings. Add in the 30-year Alunar coating warranty and energy-efficiency efficiency reducing cooling costs, and the total cost of ownership strongly favors aluminum. A roof is your home's largest expense; buying once and walking away for 50 years beats the asphalt treadmill.

Do aluminum roofs actually save money on cooling in Manorville?

Yes—energy-efficient aluminum colors reflect heat rather than absorbing it, lowering cooling costs. Interlock's Aged Copper Penny and other rated profiles have initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning they bounce infrared energy away from your attic instead of baking it like asphalt. Over Manorville's ~3127 annual sunshine hours, this reflection compounds. In summer, reflective aluminum roofs keep attics 10–15°F cooler than asphalt, reducing air-conditioner runtime and demand. The Cool Roof Rating Council rates these colors specifically for this benefit. Combined with the roof's light weight, which eliminates structural strain and allows better attic ventilation, you'll see measurable savings on June–August utility bills. This efficiency matters especially in transitional climates like Manorville, where mild mean temperatures (12.4°C annually) mask moderate summer heat that reflective roofing handles quietly and efficiently.

What does the Interlock warranty actually cover, and for how long?

The Guardian Warranty is lifetime non-prorated on material for the original owner, covering rusting (impossible with aluminum), rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—essentially every failure mode that plagues other roofs. It's transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years from installation completion. Non-prorated means no percentage deductions over time; if a panel fails in year 40, Interlock replaces it at no cost. This unmatched durability reflects aluminum's material science: panels manufactured since 1998 still perform flawlessly in extreme environments, from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station. The 30-year Alunar coating warranty adds layer-by-layer protection. Few roofing products offer this combination of lifetime coverage plus owner-to-owner transferability, which is why savvy homeowners see aluminum as the last roof they'll buy and a valuable selling point when you move.
