Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Speonk

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Speonk, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Speonk.

Will Speonk's freeze-thaw cycles damage an aluminum roof?

No. Aluminum's oxide layer self-heals when exposed to the freeze-thaw stress that cracks asphalt and wood shingles. Speonk experiences about 41 freeze-thaw days per year with roughly 53 cm of snow, conditions that accelerate traditional material failure. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating on both panel sides (rated 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM standards) protects the underlying 3105-H24 aluminum alloy—the same alloy used on Antarctic research stations where thermal cycling is severe. This durability is why the Guardian Warranty covers cracking and splitting at no cost for the original owner's lifetime.

How does an Interlock metal roof handle Speonk's snow loads and ice dams?

The four-way interlocking panels shed snow and ice far more efficiently than asphalt, which absorbs heat unevenly and creates ice dams. Speonk's 53 cm average annual snowfall stresses traditional roofing; the smooth, hard aluminum surface of Interlock's Slate, Shake, or Standing Seam profiles prevents snow from bonding and building up dangerous loads. At roughly 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft depending on profile, aluminum is about 96% lighter than slate or tile, so no structural reinforcement is needed even under peak snow weight. Optional snow guards maintain aesthetic control while allowing safe melt drainage.

Can a metal roof withstand Speonk's coastal wind gusts?

Yes. Speonk's typical gusts reach 157 km/h; Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The interlocking design distributes lateral force across the entire roof plane, not just fasteners. This engineering is documented in the ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790, which confirms compliance with the 2025 International Building Code and IRC. The warranty covers wind-related panel separation and fastener failure, giving homeowners confidence in coastal conditions where standard asphalt shingles often lift and tear.

Will heavy rain leak through an Interlock metal roof installed in Speonk?

Interlock's four-way interlocking seams are designed to channel water downslope before it penetrates the overlap. Speonk receives about 1173 mm of rain annually; the panel geometry is tested under heavy spray conditions and complies with ICC-ES ESR-1790 and IBC/IRC standards. Installed over a solid deck with underlayment (as per spec), the roof is as leak-resistant as asphalt, but the panels themselves never deteriorate from exposure to moisture—aluminum does not rot. The Guardian Warranty covers water intrusion from defects in the roof system for the original owner's lifetime, regardless of rainfall intensity.

Do I need to reinforce my home's frame for a metal roof?

No reinforcement is needed. The Interlock Tile profile, for example, installs at about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it can be installed directly over most existing roofs without structural modification. Speonk homes built before 1980 often have roof frames rated for asphalt or wood shingles; the aluminum alternative is significantly lighter. This advantage translates to faster installation (no tear-off required, lower labor costs), reduced waste going to landfill, and the ability to upgrade older homes that would be cost-prohibitive with traditional heavy tile. The installation process is straightforward because existing framing is already adequate.

Why choose aluminum roofing over steel in a coastal climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Steel oxidizes when exposed to moisture and salt air; aluminum forms a protective oxide layer that self-heals when scratched—a critical advantage in coastal Suffolk County. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating applied to both panel sides for extra salt-air protection and a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading. This dual-layer defense (self-healing oxide plus fluorocarbon finish) is why Interlock panels have been installed on salt-spray homes worldwide since 1998. Steel roofing requires sacrificial coatings and regular maintenance that aluminum simply does not.

Will a metal roof reduce my homeowners insurance or survive hailstorms?

Interlock metal roofs carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers hail perforation from stones up to 1.5 inches. Some insurers offer premium discounts for Class 4 rated roofing, though discounts vary by carrier. Speonk's inland location experiences fewer severe hailstorms than western regions, but the high impact rating provides peace of mind if severe weather strikes. The non-combustible aluminum (Class A fire rating available) may also qualify for fire-related savings. Contact your insurer directly with the UL rating and ESR-1790 compliance documentation to verify what discounts apply to your policy.

Can a metal roof lower cooling costs in summer?

Yes. Interlock offers energy-efficient colors with initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny profile) and thermal emissivity of 0.84, rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council. These reflective coatings bounce summer heat away rather than absorbing it like asphalt does. Speonk receives about 3207 sunshine hours per year; the energy benefit compounds over decades, especially if air conditioning is used. The Alunar finish maintains this reflectance for 30 years (ASTM D2244 testing), whereas asphalt reflectance degrades within 5 years. For homes in full sun, the cooling-cost savings can offset a portion of the roof investment, making energy efficiency a financial benefit, not just an environmental one.

What's the actual lifespan and warranty on an Interlock metal roof?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It is transferable once to the next owner, who receives a 50-year warranty from completion. This dual-term structure reflects the product's proven durability: aluminum does not rust, the 30-year Alunar coating resists chalking and fading, and four-way interlocking panels resist wind speeds up to 120 mph. Unlike asphalt (15–20 years) or wood (25–40 years with maintenance), aluminum roofs installed since 1998 have reached 25+ years with minimal degradation. You are buying your last roof, not a roof you will replace in 20 years.

Who installs Interlock roofs in Speonk, and how long does installation take?

Interlock Roofing of America has served the Speonk area since 2014, with expertise in residential and commercial installations across Suffolk County and Long Island. The installation timeline depends on roof size and existing conditions, but because Interlock panels can install directly over most existing roofs (no tear-off required), projects typically take 3–7 days rather than the 1–2 weeks asphalt replacement demands. The local crew is familiar with Speonk's coastal humidity, salt-air exposure, and building code requirements (ESR-1790 compliance confirmed by the 2025 ICC-ES evaluation). Contact them for a site inspection and timeline quote; they handle permitting and warranty registration.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Speonk’s climate?

Yes. Speonk averages about 53 cm of snow, 1173 mm of rain, roughly 41 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 157 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
