Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in East Quogue

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in East Quogue, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in East Quogue.

Will a metal roof hold up to freeze-thaw cycles in East Quogue winters?

Yes. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy expands and contracts with temperature swings, but does not crack, split, or lose integrity—unlike asphalt, wood, or concrete tile. With about 41 freeze-thaw days per year in Suffolk County and mean temperatures around 12.2°C, your roof experiences repeated stress. Aluminum's flexibility and self-healing oxide layer handle this without degradation. The Guardian warranty explicitly covers splitting and cracking for the original owner's lifetime, non-prorated, plus a transferable 50-year term for the next owner.

How does an Interlock metal roof handle heavy snow and ice dams?

The four-way interlocking panels shed snow and ice efficiently because the smooth, tight panel lock prevents water penetration; no water backs up under the roof. East Quogue receives about 53 cm of snow per year on average. The panels' light weight—the Shingle profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft—means less structural load than slate or tile, so snow load doesn't demand reinforcement. Optional snow guards can be installed to control slide-off. The solid deck and underlayment, combined with the panel interlock, stop ice dams at their source: water trapped between roof layers.

Can an Interlock roof survive East Quogue's coastal wind and storm gusts?

Yes. The warranty covers wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. East Quogue experiences typical daily-max winds around 28 km/h with gusts recorded to 157 km/h—the four-way interlocking design distributes that force across the panel system, so no single panel takes the full hit. Each panel locks into its neighbors on all four sides; this redundancy is why the ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790) clears it for coastal and high-wind zones. Combined with proper fastening, that interlock pattern is why this roof has installed successfully from Atlantic salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations.

Does heavy rain cause leaks in a metal roof?

No. Interlock's four-way interlocking system and solid deck work together to shed water; the panel overlap and interlock geometry direct rain down and away before it can find a seam gap. East Quogue averages about 1173 mm of rainfall per year—not unusual for the Northeast coast. The real leak risk in other metal roofs comes from poor fastening or seam gaps; Interlock's design eliminates seams in the weather plane altogether. Installed over solid decking with a proper underlayment, water simply runs off. The system is ICC-ES-evaluated for rainy climates under code ESR-1790.

What's the hail rating on an Interlock roof, and will my insurance notice?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4—the highest impact rating available—meaning it withstands hailstones up to 1.5 inches without perforation. That rating is verified by an independent third party (Intertek listing 33876) and recognized by insurers nationwide. Some insurers offer modest premium discounts for Class 4 roofing in hail-prone regions. While East Quogue's climate data doesn't flag extreme hail, the Class 4 rating is there if you ever need it. Contact your agent; they can review your policy against this documentation.

Why don't Interlock aluminum roofs rust like steel roofing?

Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust—period. Steel rusts because iron oxidizes when exposed to air and water. Aluminum does form an oxide layer, but that layer is microscopically thin, non-porous, and self-heals when scratched. Add Interlock's Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish—applied to both sides of every panel and warranted 30 years against chalking and fading—and your roof is doubly protected. In a coastal climate like East Quogue's, where salt spray accelerates corrosion, this two-layer defense (oxide plus PVDF) is why aluminum outlasts steel without maintenance.

Can my roof structure handle a metal roof, or do I need to reinforce it?

No reinforcement needed. Interlock's aluminum is extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile, which mimics heavy concrete or clay tile, weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft and is roughly 96% lighter than the materials it looks like. That means no additional framing or structural work. You can install the Tile profile directly over most existing roofs without lifting a single beam. In contrast, concrete or clay tile can weigh 10–15 lb/sq ft and often demands reinforcement. Interlock's ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790) and CALGreen verification account for this light weight as a maintenance and durability advantage.

How long does an Interlock metal roof last, and what does the warranty actually cover?

The Guardian is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. Non-prorated means there's no declining coverage schedule; you're covered the same way year one as year 30. If the roof fails under warranty, it's replaced at no charge. For the second owner, the warranty is one-time transferable for 50 years from completion. That's effectively two generations of coverage. Combined with Interlock's 30-year finish warranty (ASTM D4214 / D2244) and the product's track record since 1998, you're buying the last roof you'll install.

Is an Interlock metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Yes, because the cost is measured over the roof's life, not the first year. Asphalt shingles last 15–20 years and require tear-off and disposal (to landfill) twice before Interlock reaches 50 years. When you factor in two full asphalt replacements, labor, hauling, and inflation over time, Interlock's upfront premium often breaks even by year 25. Then every year after that is profit. You eliminate the maintenance headache, avoid re-roofing disruption, and hand the next owner a 50-year warranty. For a homeowner planning to stay 20+ years, it's the economical choice. The Guardian warranty and non-prorated coverage lower your true long-term cost.

Does an Interlock metal roof help lower cooling costs in summer?

energy-efficient colors do. Interlock offers profiles in energy-efficiency finishes with thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny), meaning they reflect heat that asphalt absorbs. East Quogue enjoys about 3207 sunshine hours per year, so reflection matters. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms this reflectance; you can see the data on their public database. Reflective coatings don't eliminate air conditioning on hot days, but they reduce the burden and lower utility bills year-round. Pair an energy-efficiency color with proper attic ventilation and you've engineered a cooler house for less money.
