Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Mattituck

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Mattituck, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Mattituck.

Will an aluminum metal roof handle Mattituck's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum actually thrives in freeze-thaw conditions. Unlike asphalt shingles, which crack and curl as they expand and contract through Mattituck's roughly 41 freeze-thaw days per year, aluminum has a consistent coefficient of thermal expansion. The material doesn't absorb water, so ice formation won't cause delamination or rot. Interlock's 3105-H24 alloy was engineered for coastal and freeze-heavy climates and carries a 30-year warranty against cracking and splitting—the exact degradation modes that plague conventional roofing here.

How does a metal roof perform with Mattituck's annual snowfall?

Mattituck averages about 53 centimeters of snow annually, and metal roofs shed it efficiently. The smooth interlocking panels prevent snow from bonding to the surface the way asphalt does, reducing ice dam buildup and the structural load from trapped snow. Interlock panels are rated for standard snow load per ESR-1790 building code compliance (IBC/IRC, 2025 reissue). If you're in a higher-snow-load pocket or prefer extra protection, snow guards are available. The lightweight design—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—means no structural upgrades needed, even with seasonal accumulation.

Does a metal roof leak in heavy rain like Mattituck gets?

Not when installed correctly. Mattituck receives approximately 1173 millimeters of rain yearly, and Interlock's four-way interlocking panel system is engineered to shed water before it reaches the fastener line. The panels overlap and interlock on all four sides, directing water downslope. Combined with a solid deck and underlayment—applied the same way as asphalt—the system performs identically to conventional roofing in heavy rain. The Guardian warranty covers any water intrusion from workmanship defects, giving you peace of mind through wet New England winters.

Can a metal roof survive Mattituck's coastal wind gusts?

Absolutely. Mattituck experiences typical daily winds around 28 km/h with gusts reaching 157 km/h, and Interlock roofs are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The four-way interlocking design creates a unified panel system that doesn't lift or separate like individual shingles. Independent testing under UL standards validates this performance. For homes near the coast or in wind-exposed locations, the engineering margin between typical gusts and the 120 mph warranty limit provides substantial safety—especially important in Suffolk County's Atlantic-facing exposure.

Why is aluminum better than steel for a roof near salt air?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and deteriorates in salty environments. Instead, aluminum forms a transparent oxide layer that actually protects the metal beneath, and this layer self-heals when scratched. Interlock panels use roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) with a Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish applied to both sides, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Steel roofs, by contrast, require continuous coatings to prevent rust; once breached, corrosion spreads. Mattituck's proximity to salt air makes aluminum's inherent non-corrosive nature a major durability advantage.

What's the hail rating on Interlock metal roofing, and could it lower my insurance?

Interlock panels achieve UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers offer discounts for Class 4 roofing because the claims risk is substantially lower than asphalt shingles. Check with your agent, but discounts of 10–20% are common in Suffolk County. Since hail events are unpredictable but costly, the combination of superior impact resistance and potential premium savings makes this a genuine financial hedge over the roof's 50+ year lifespan.

What does Interlock's warranty actually cover, and for how long?

The Guardian lifetime limited warranty is non-prorated for the original owner and covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—the failure modes that plague conventional roofing. It's transferable once: the next owner receives 50 years of coverage from completion. With Mattituck's 41 annual freeze-thaw days, 53 centimeters of snow, and 1173 millimeters of rain, you're exposing the roof to all the stressors that asphalt shingles fail against in 15–20 years. A lifetime warranty on the original owner reflects confidence in aluminum's durability and eliminates the psychological weight of knowing you'll replace the roof again in your lifetime.

How much maintenance does an aluminum metal roof really need?

Far less than asphalt, wood, or tile. Aluminum doesn't rot, split, curl, or require re-coating every 10–15 years. Twice yearly, clear debris from gutters and valleys—the same maintenance any roof needs. Snow occasionally requires gentle removal if it accumulates beyond your comfort level, but the smooth surface sheds rain and melt water on its own. No algae or moss growth. No missing-shingle repairs. Interlock panels are CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, meaning fewer service calls and repair costs over the roof's life. Across Mattituck's wet winters and coastal humidity, this translates to savings measured in thousands of dollars.

Do I need to reinforce my house structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement required. Interlock's Tile profile installs at approximately 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—while the Shingle and Shake profiles are even lighter. Most existing roofs can support the weight without modification, meaning you can install over your current asphalt shingles, avoiding expensive tear-off costs. This lightweight design is a huge advantage in older Mattituck homes where rafter capacity may be modest. A structural engineer can confirm your home's capacity in minutes, but in the vast majority of cases, the aluminum panels simply sit on your existing deck with no upgrades needed.

Can an aluminum roof reduce cooling costs in summer?

Yes. Interlock's energy-efficient colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it the way dark asphalt does. Reflectance values reach up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) with thermal emissivity of 0.84, reducing the cooling load on hot days. Mattituck enjoys approximately 3207 sunshine hours annually, so summer heat rejection compounds over the season. While Mattituck's mean temperature of 12.2°C keeps summers mild, the reflective coating still delivers measurable energy savings and extends air-conditioning equipment life. Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms the performance. Over 50 years, energy savings—however modest in this climate—add to the total cost-of-ownership advantage.
