Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Peconic

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Peconic, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Peconic.

Will freeze-thaw cycles in Peconic damage an aluminum metal roof?

No — aluminum's oxide layer actually becomes more durable as it cycles through freeze-thaw stress. Peconic experiences roughly 41 freeze-thaw days per year, where traditional asphalt and wood shingles crack, curl, and separate. Roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) expands and contracts uniformly without brittleness or fatigue. The material has performed flawlessly in Antarctic research stations and coastal freeze-thaw climates for over 25 years, making it exceptionally well-suited to your region's annual temperature swings.

How does a metal roof handle heavy snow in Peconic winters?

Interlock's lightweight design prevents dangerous snow load accumulation. At roughly 53 cm of snow per year and peak gusts to 157 km/h, wind naturally sheds snow from the interlocked aluminum panels — a property that asphalt shingles cannot replicate. The four-way interlocking mechanism also resists ice dam formation by maintaining panel integrity through repeated thaw cycles. You can add snow guards to match your home's architecture, but many homeowners find wind and panel slope handle seasonal accumulation without them.

Can a metal roof handle Peconic's heavy rainfall without leaking?

The four-way interlocking aluminum panels create overlapping water barriers that channel Peconic's annual 1173 mm of rainfall away from your home's framing. Each panel locks on all four sides, eliminating the gaps where asphalt granules wash away or wood shingles separate. The Guardian warranty explicitly covers water infiltration; backed by ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 for IBC/IRC compliance, the roof is engineered to exceed code requirements for heavy-rain environments. Installation over solid decking with proper underlayment creates an asphalt-quiet, leak-proof system.

Are metal roofs safe in Peconic's high-wind season?

Yes — Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to withstand 120 mph (193 km/h) sustained winds, well above Peconic's typical gusts of 157 km/h. The locking system distributes wind load across the entire roof plane, preventing the panel uplift that affects nailed or glued shingles. UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating confirms each panel's structural integrity. When installed to specification by Interlock Roofing of America, your roof becomes one of the strongest wind-resistant systems available, giving you genuine peace of mind during nor'easters.

Why don't aluminum roofs rust like steel roofs can?

Aluminum contains no iron, making rust chemically impossible. Instead, it develops a microscopically thin oxide layer that self-heals when scratched — imagine an invisible waterproof skin. Steel, by contrast, requires constant paint or coating maintenance because bare iron oxidizes into rust. Peconic's salt-air proximity and 1173 mm annual rainfall accelerate corrosion in ferrous metals, but aluminum actually thrives in these conditions. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (applied to both panel sides) adds a 30-year coating warranty against chalking and fading, giving you the longevity steel simply cannot match.

Will hail damage an aluminum roof, and can I get insurance discounts?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 — the highest impact rating available — and the Guardian warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Most insurers recognize this non-combustible aluminum construction and impact resistance as reduced-risk, often offering 20–35% premium reductions for metal roofs. In Peconic's climate with typical daily-max winds around 28 km/h and seasonal hail exposure, this durability translates to lower annual insurance cost over the roof's lifetime. Contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 specification to discuss your specific discount.

Do I need to reinforce my house's structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed. The Slate profile installs at 0.41 lb/sq ft, making Interlock roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most homes can support the aluminum panels directly over existing asphalt shingles without framing upgrades, saving you thousands in structural work. Your local installer, Interlock Roofing of America (serving the region since 2014), assesses your roof's condition during the initial walkthrough and will advise if any decking repair is needed — but reinforcement is virtually never required. This lightweight advantage also means installation happens faster and with less disruption.

What's the real lifespan of an Interlock metal roof in Peconic?

The Guardian warranty covers your roof for the lifetime of your ownership — fully non-prorated material coverage against rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. That warranty transfers to the next owner for 50 years from completion, significantly boosting resale appeal. Across 25+ years and installations from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations, the product has demonstrated durability well beyond competitor warranties. In Peconic's freeze-thaw and rainfall environment, you're not buying a 20-year roof; you're buying a roof that simply stops degrading like asphalt does.

How much maintenance does a metal roof actually need?

Far less than asphalt or wood. You'll never re-seal, re-coat, or patch an aluminum roof like you do asphalt shingles year after year. Twice-yearly gutter cleaning (recommended after Peconic's roughly 53 cm snow seasons) and occasional moss removal in shaded areas is standard. The Alunar coating is verified CALGreen-compliant for reduced maintenance, eliminating the costly tear-offs that asphalt requires every 15–20 years. Over 40 years, the maintenance savings alone — no granule loss, no rot inspection, no algae treatment cycles — often exceed the roof's initial cost difference, making it economically dominant versus any traditional alternative.

Will a metal roof help lower cooling costs in summer?

energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect significantly more solar heat than asphalt. The Aged Copper Penny finish achieves initial solar reflectance of 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning less heat penetrates your attic space. Peconic receives roughly 3207 sunshine hours per year; that reflectivity compounds into measurable cooling savings, especially in transitional seasons when you're not fully committed to air conditioning. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms the energy benefit. Combined with the roof's durability across your region's 41 annual freeze-thaw cycles, you gain year-round comfort without the energy penalty of dark asphalt shingles.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Peconic’s climate?

Yes. Peconic averages about 53 cm of snow, 1173 mm of rain, roughly 41 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 157 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
