Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Sagaponack

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Sagaponack, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Sagaponack.

Will metal roofing hold up through Sagaponack's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum actually improves with freeze-thaw stress because it has no grain structure to crack. Sagaponack averages about 41 freeze-thaw days per year, and that cycling can shatter wood shakes and cause asphalt to curl; aluminum's oxide layer flexes and self-heals instead. The 3105-H24 alloy was designed for coastal climates where temperature swings are frequent. The Alunar coating on both panel sides protects against salt-air corrosion during those freeze-thaw transitions, with a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading.

How does a metal roof handle Sagaponack's snow and ice buildup?

The smooth, interlocking four-way panel design sheds snow and ice far more readily than asphalt shingles. Sagaponack receives about 53 centimeters of snow annually, and that weight matters—but an Interlock roof at 0.41 to 0.59 pounds per square foot handles typical snow loads without stress, while concrete or clay tile would require expensive structural reinforcement. You can install snow guards if you want to manage runoff on a steeply pitched roof. The sealed, interlocking seams prevent meltwater from finding its way into the attic, which is the real ice-dam risk in a freeze-thaw climate.

Can heavy rain or coastal storms leak through the interlocking seams?

The four-way interlocking panels are engineered so water runs off or sheds downslope—it cannot back up into the seams. Sagaponack gets about 1173 millimeters of rain annually, and that volume flows across the panels and out the gutters. The seams are mechanically locked, not glued; the overlap design means water always flows downhill away from openings. A solid deck underneath and proper flashing at valleys and penetrations handle the rest. When installed to spec by a qualified crew like Interlock Roofing of America, the roof meets ICC-ES ESR-1790 requirements for rain protection—you won't see water inside.

Do metal roof panels stay secure in Sagaponack's coastal wind and gusts?

Yes. Sagaponack's typical daily winds average about 28 kilometers per hour with gusts reaching 157 kilometers per hour, and the four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its neighbors—wind can't get underneath and lift them. The system is warranted to resist sustained wind speeds up to 120 miles per hour when installed per spec. The mechanical locking means no fastener creep or panel separation even after years of seasonal cycling. Coastal Atlantic gusts that might tear asphalt shingles clean off a roof keep Interlock panels secure.

What's the impact rating, and could it lower my homeowner's insurance?

Interlock carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Sagaponack's freeze-thaw cycles and ocean exposure mean hail events, though rare, do happen. Many insurers offer premium reductions for Class 4 roofing because the risk of a costly claim drops dramatically. Aluminum's non-brittle nature means it dents but doesn't splinter or puncture like wood or slate. Check with your carrier about a discount; some reduce premiums 5 to 15 percent for impact-rated metal roofs, which can cover a meaningful portion of the installation cost over time.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Over the roof's full life cycle, metal wins on both durability and replacement cost. Asphalt lasts 15 to 25 years; you'll tear off and haul away multiple roofs before Interlock needs replacement. The Guardian warranty is lifetime limited for the original owner and transferable 50 years to the next owner—that's the last roof you buy. Sagaponack's 1173 millimeters of rain and 41 freeze-thaw days annually accelerate asphalt deterioration. Metal avoids the labor and landfill fees of repeated tear-offs, and resale value typically recovers 60 to 80 percent of install cost. Over 50 years, the math strongly favors metal.

How much maintenance does a metal roof require compared to asphalt or wood?

Virtually none. Asphalt requires regular inspections, resealing, and patching; wood shakes need treatment against rot and insects; slate and tile need periodic re-fastening. Interlock metal sheds debris, resists algae growth, and the Alunar fluorocarbon coating (30-year warranty) is self-cleaning in rain. Sagaponack's 3207 hours of annual sunshine and 1173 millimeters of rain keep the roof naturally clean. No fungicide treatments, no missing-shingle calls after storms, no granule loss to gutters. A twice-yearly gutter cleaning is all you need. The CALGreen-verified reduced-maintenance profile saves time and money year after year.

Will metal roofing rust in Sagaponack's salt-air environment?

No. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy, which contains no iron and therefore cannot rust chemically. In coastal salt air, steel would corrode within years; aluminum instead forms a self-healing oxide layer that protects the metal underneath. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of the panel—extra insurance against salt spray. That dual-side coating carries a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading. Since 1998, Interlock has installed roofs on coastal salt-air homes and even an Antarctic research station. Sagaponack's ocean proximity is exactly where aluminum performs best.

Can a metal roof with reflective coating actually lower cooling costs?

Reflective coatings reduce cooling loads in summer and can lower your energy bill. Interlock's energy-efficient colors achieve solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84, meaning the roof reflects heat that asphalt absorbs and re-radiates into the attic. Sagaponack averages about 3207 hours of annual sunshine, so summer heat gain is real. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms the cooling effect. On a sunny day, an asphalt roof can reach 80°F hotter than an energy-efficiency metal roof—that difference translates to fewer air-conditioning hours and lower bills, especially as Sagaponack summers warm. The energy payback typically shows up within 5 to 10 years.

Can you install a metal roof over my existing shingles without tearing off?

Yes, and that saves substantial labor and disposal cost. Interlock panels are extraordinarily light—the Shingle profile installs at 0.41 pounds per square foot—so most existing asphalt roofs carry the extra weight without structural reinforcement. Your contractor installs proper underlayment and flashing over the old roof, then fastens the interlocking panels on top. Interlock Roofing of America has served this region since 2014 and routinely does over-roof installs in Sagaponack. A typical residential project takes 3 to 5 days. The process keeps your home occupied and avoids a dumpster on the lawn. Of course, if structural issues or rot are present, removal is necessary—your local installer will assess during the estimate.
