| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |

What our customers are saying:
I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.
I wasted 4 months of my time thinking i will have a beautiful metal roof just to learn that interlock will not be able to do it after all
Interlock Roofing could have improved their communication.
I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.
We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.
I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.
My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.
To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Southampton
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Southampton, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Southampton.
How does a metal roof handle Southampton's snow and ice buildup?
The smooth aluminum surface sheds snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt shingles, reducing ice dam formation along your eaves. Southampton averages about 53 centimeters of snow annually, and the four-way interlocking panels are warranted to resist wind gusts up to 157 kilometers per hour—well above typical winter storm conditions in the area. The lightweight Interlock design means no structural reinforcement is needed, even in heavy snow years, because the panels weigh just 0.41 to 0.59 pounds per square foot, compared to slate or tile that would require costly reinforcement. You can add snow guards if desired for architectural appearance or liability safety.
Why does freeze-thaw cycling in Southampton winters affect some roofs but not Interlock?
Aluminum cannot freeze-thaw crack or rot because it's a non-ferrous metal—water doesn't penetrate or expand within the material the way it does in asphalt, wood, or concrete. Your region experiences roughly 41 freeze-thaw days per year, which is harsh enough to destroy asphalt shingles and split wood shakes within 15 to 20 years. Interlock's 3105-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) has no iron content; its oxide layer self-heals when scratched, making it immune to the freeze-thaw cycle. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, maintaining its structural integrity through decades of Southampton winters.
Can an aluminum roof rust or corrode near the Atlantic coast?
No. Aluminum contains no iron, so it cannot rust under any circumstance—this is foundational chemistry, not a marketing claim. Steel roofs do rust in salt air; Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) has been installed in coastal salt-air homes and even at an Antarctic research station since 1998 without corrosion failure. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of every panel—an extra protection layer uncommon in the industry—and is warranted 30 years against fading and chalking. Southampton receives about 1173 millimeters of rain annually; Interlock's two-sided coating means the underside gets the same UV and salt-air protection as the exposed face.
What is Interlock's hail rating, and could it lower my insurance premium?
Interlock carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 impact resistance often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because claims are statistically rare; contact your agent with the UL 2218 rating to ask about eligibility. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels absorb impact differently than asphalt, which cracks and splits easily. Southampton's weather patterns include occasional severe thunderstorms; a Class 4 roof removes hail damage from your risk profile entirely, and many insurers recognize this by lowering premiums on a permanent, transferable basis.
Do I need to reinforce my roof framing for an Interlock metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. The Slate profile installs at just 0.41 pounds per square foot, and even the Tile profile—which replicates concrete or clay tile—weighs only 0.59 pounds per square foot, about 96 percent lighter than actual tile. Traditional clay tile runs 10 to 15 pounds per square foot and requires expensive roof-frame reinforcement; Interlock's aluminum avoids that cost entirely. The lightweight design also means Interlock installs directly over most existing asphalt roofs (subject to inspection), saving you the tear-off labor. In Southampton, where typical daily-max winds reach about 28 kilometers per hour with gusts to 157 kilometers per hour, the low weight combined with four-way interlocking and a 120 mph wind warranty keeps your roof secure without hidden structural upgrades.
Is a metal roof safe in Southampton's windstorms?
Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 miles per hour (193 kilometers per hour) when installed to specification, far exceeding Southampton's typical winter gusts of 157 kilometers per hour. The four-way interlock system—where each panel locks mechanically into its neighbors on all sides—prevents uplift or separation even in extreme conditions. Coastal winter storms and occasional severe thunderstorms are common across Suffolk County, but the panel geometry and interlock design were proven in service since 1998 in high-wind regions from coastal areas to mountainous terrain. Installation to spec by a certified local installer like Interlock Roofing of America (serving your area since 2014) ensures the warranty covers wind damage.
How does Interlock handle heavy rainfall without leaking?
Heavy rainfall and a solid deck with underlayment create a watertight system that performs like traditional roofing—no water finds its way into your attic. Southampton averages about 1173 millimeters of rain per year, and the four-way interlocking panels shed water horizontally without trapping it or allowing capillary moisture to enter the seams. Each panel overlaps its neighbor, and water runs down the slope without pooling. A solid wood deck beneath the panels (not the open purlins used on some metal roofs) plus quality underlayment eliminates noise and improves insulation, so your roof sounds and performs like an asphalt roof during heavy rain—not like a tin drum. The Guardian Warranty covers leakage from manufacturing defects, giving you peace of mind during Southampton's frequent wet weather.
Will an Interlock roof reduce my cooling costs during sunny weather?
energy-efficient colors with initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84 reflect heat that asphalt absorbs, lowering attic temperature and cooling demand on hot summer days. Southampton enjoys about 3207 hours of sunshine per year, making reflectivity valuable. Cool Roof Rating Council verification confirms these measurements. Asphalt shingles absorb solar heat and transfer it into your home; Interlock's reflective coating bounces that energy away. Over a 50-year roof life, the cumulative energy savings rival the material cost difference between metal and asphalt on many homes. In a climate with 41 freeze-thaw days and 53 centimeters of snow, you also retain winter heat more efficiently because the roof doesn't radiate stored warmth as fast as dark asphalt does.
What maintenance does an Interlock roof actually require?
Virtually none beyond routine gutter cleaning. Unlike asphalt shingles, which degrade, curl, and lose granules within 20 years, Interlock aluminum does not rot, split, crack, or lose impact resistance over time—the Guardian Warranty guarantees this for the original owner's lifetime, non-prorated, and transfers once to the next owner for 50 years from completion. You never pressure-wash, re-seal, or replace individual panels. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 and D2244 standards), so paint doesn't degrade like asphalt weathering does. In Southampton's 1173 millimeters of annual rainfall and 41 freeze-thaw days, traditional asphalt requires inspection, sealing, and repairs constantly—metal requires neither.
What does the Guardian Warranty actually cover, and how long does it last?
The Guardian is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—the six major failure modes of traditional roofing. It is also one-time transferable: the next homeowner receives full coverage for 50 years from the roof completion date. Non-prorated means there is no depreciation schedule; a leak in year 30 is covered as fully as one in year 1. This structure reflects Interlock's confidence in 25+ years of field data, manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, across climates from coastal salt-air to Antarctic research stations. Southampton's 1173 millimeters of rain and 41 freeze-thaw cycles per year would destroy asphalt in 15 to 20 years; the Guardian covers aluminum indefinitely for you and one successor owner.
