Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Orient

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Orient, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Orient.

Will a metal roof handle Orient's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes — aluminum's crystalline structure actually improves with thermal cycling, and the oxide layer that protects it from corrosion self-heals after every scratch. Orient experiences about 41 freeze-thaw days per year across its 12.2°C mean temperature, which is exactly the kind of repeated expansion and contraction that degrades asphalt and wood shingles. Aluminum panels rated to ICC-ES ESR-1790 standards move minimally and won't crack, curl, or split like traditional materials do under these conditions.

Why doesn't aluminum rust like steel roofing?

Aluminum contains no iron — the element that oxidizes into rust. Instead, aluminum forms a thin, self-healing oxide layer that instantly seals any scratch or damage. In coastal or salt-laden environments, this distinction matters enormously, which is why Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy is backed by a 30-year Alunar fluorocarbon coating on both panel sides. That dual-layer protection keeps the roof immune to the corrosion cycles that steel would face, especially important in Suffolk County's moisture and wind-driven salt spray from the Atlantic.

How does an aluminum metal roof perform with Orient's snow load?

Snow sheds cleanly from the interlocked panel edges because aluminum's smooth surface and slight pitch prevent adhesion — the Cedar Shingle, Shake, and Slate profiles all angle water and snow downward efficiently. Orient receives about 53 cm of snow annually plus 1173 mm of rain, so shedding speed matters for ice dam prevention. Because Interlock's panels weigh only 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft (the Tile profile is roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile), deep snow loads never stress your structure, and installation over your existing roof requires no costly reinforcement.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is necessary with Interlock panels. The Tile profile installs at just 0.59 lb/sq ft — about 96% lighter than actual concrete or clay tile — while the Shingle weighs only 0.41 lb/sq ft. Most homes can accept this load without modification, and the panels install directly over your existing roof in most cases, saving thousands on structural work. This matters particularly in regions like Orient that receive substantial snow and wind gusts up to 157 km/h — the lightweight design means your home's frame never bears a crushing burden, even in heavy weather.

Can this roof withstand Orient's coastal wind and gusts?

Yes — the four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Orient's typical daily winds average 28 km/h, but gusts can reach 157 km/h, placing the region in a moderate coastal exposure zone. The interlocking design distributes uplift forces across the entire roof rather than concentrating stress on fasteners alone, which is why UL testing and ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirm the system's integrity in high-wind conditions. Coastal homeowners particularly value this passive resistance.

With 1173 mm of annual rain, how does the roof prevent leaks?

The four-way interlocking seams create a labyrinth that sheds water downward and outward faster than it can penetrate — each panel overlaps its neighbors on all sides, and the geometry forces any water that enters a seam immediately back to the surface. Combined with a solid deck and underlayment, this system performs identically to asphalt in wet climates while eliminating the rot and deterioration asphalt suffers. Orient's 1173 mm annual rainfall (about three-quarters of the continental average) means your roof endures nearly constant moisture exposure; the aluminum's oxide layer and sealed fasteners resist the galvanic corrosion that would eventually compromise steel or steel-fastened systems.

What protection does the roof offer in a hailstorm?

Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest available — and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This real-world durability often qualifies homeowners for insurance premium reductions because underwriters recognize that Class 4 metal roofs rarely file damage claims. Orient's climate brings occasional severe thunderstorms, so impact resistance translates directly to peace of mind and lower long-term insurance costs. Asphalt shingles typically rate Class 1 or 2, meaning they'd require replacement after the same hail event that leaves your aluminum roof unharmed.

How much maintenance does a metal roof actually need?

Essentially none — no algae cleaning, no shingle replacement, no wood rot inspection. Aluminum won't split, curl, or decay, and the 30-year Alunar coating (both sides) resists chalking and fading per ASTM D4214 and D2244 standards. Asphalt shingles typically require moss removal, gutter clearing after granule shedding, and localized repairs within 15–20 years; wood shakes demand annual treatment and splitting repair. Orient's 3207 annual sunshine hours and 41 freeze-thaw days accelerate traditional material degradation, but aluminum's oxide layer simply maintains itself. Most owners rinse debris twice yearly — that's it.

Can the roof reduce cooling costs in summer?

Yes — Interlock's energy-efficient color options reflect up to 0.55 of incoming solar radiation (Aged Copper Penny), with thermal emissivity at 0.84, meaning they shed far more summer heat than asphalt's dark absorptive surface. Orient's 3207 annual sunshine hours mean significant cumulative cooling load, and reflective coatings reduce air-conditioning runtime measurably. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms these gains independently. While winters are cool (mean 12.2°C), spring and fall weeks still reward heat reflection, and the lifetime durability means you reap energy savings for decades without the coating degradation that darkens asphalt over time.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost in Orient?

Metal roofing typically costs 20–30% more upfront than asphalt, but the math shifts dramatically over time. Asphalt requires replacement every 15–20 years; Interlock's lifetime limited warranty on material (non-prorated for the original owner) plus a one-time 50-year transferable term means you genuinely buy your last roof. After 40 years, Orient homeowners who chose asphalt have replaced it 2–3 times; you've replaced it zero times. Factor in zero maintenance, no algae treatments, no moss cleaning, and a roof that performs identically in the region's heavy rain (1173 mm/year), snow (53 cm/year), freeze-thaw (41 days/year), and coastal wind (gusts to 157 km/h), and the lifetime cost-per-year favors aluminum decisively.
