Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Riverhead

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Riverhead, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Riverhead.

Will a metal roof handle Riverhead's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking?

Aluminum roofing withstands freeze-thaw cycling because the material expands and contracts without brittleness—it won't crack, split, or curl as wood and asphalt do. Riverhead experiences about 41 freeze-thaw days per year, plus roughly 53 cm of snow, which accelerates degradation in conventional roofs. Interlock's 3105-H24 aluminum alloy and two-sided Alunar coating remain flexible across temperature swings. The material's self-healing oxide layer also resists the corrosive salt spray common near Long Island's coastal influence. This durability is why the Guardian Warranty covers splitting and cracking with no time limit for the original owner.

Why don't aluminum roofs rust like steel ones, especially near the coast?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes into rust. Instead, aluminum forms a thin, invisible oxide layer that actually protects the underlying metal and self-heals when scratched. This is why Interlock applies Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating to both sides of every panel: the underside protection is crucial in salt-air environments. Suffolk County's maritime influence means corrosive salt can settle on roofing; the dual-sided coating and rust-proof aluminum work together to ensure 30-year color and chalking protection (ASTM D4214/D2244 tested). Steel roofs require constant vigilance in these conditions—aluminum simply does not.

How does a metal roof handle Riverhead's snow and ice buildup?

Interlock's smooth, interlocking aluminum panels and low profile allow snow and ice to shed naturally without pooling, which prevents ice dams that trap water and damage wood decking. Riverhead receives about 53 cm of snow annually across roughly 41 freeze-thaw days; ice dams are a genuine risk on low-slope roofs. The four-way interlocking design and Class 4 hail rating (UL 2218) mean the system handles the weight and impact stress of seasonal snow loading. Optional snow guards can be installed where code or slope requires extra control. Aluminum's light weight—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—means no structural reinforcement is needed, so installation is faster and safer even in winter conditions.

Can Interlock metal roofing stand up to Riverhead's nor'easter winds?

The four-way interlocking panel system is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, well above Riverhead's typical gust exposure. Local 10-year data shows mean daily-maximum winds around 28 km/h with gusts reaching 157 km/h—within the roof's rated envelope. The interlocking mechanism creates a unified surface that prevents individual panels from lifting, peeling, or separating. Proper fastening and deck attachment are essential, and Interlock's local installer, Interlock Roofing of America, has served this region since 2014 and understands local wind patterns. The warranty covers wind-related failures, so installation by a certified local contractor is your guarantee of durability.

Does Interlock roofing qualify for hail-damage insurance discounts in Suffolk County?

Yes. Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest hail classification available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize Class 4 impact resistance and offer premium discounts because the roof is far less likely to require a claim. Riverhead's climate includes summer thunderstorms typical of Long Island; the aluminum construction and high-impact rating reduce your exposure. Contact your insurance agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 specification and Interlock's ICC-ES evaluation (ESR-1790) to explore discount eligibility. Over a 50-year lifespan, impact protection and potential insurance savings significantly improve the roof's cost-value.

Will I need to reinforce my home's structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is required. Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light—the Slate Shingle installs at about 0.41 lb/sq ft, and even the Mediterranean Tile profile weighs only ~0.59 lb/sq ft, roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. This light weight means the roof can install directly over most existing asphalt or wood shingles without adding load to framing. Riverhead homes built with standard framing are easily capable of supporting the minimal additional weight. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms compliance with code load requirements. This advantage speeds installation, reduces labor costs, and allows you to avoid costly structural modifications that traditional tile would demand.

How much maintenance does an aluminum metal roof require in Riverhead?

Aluminum roofing requires minimal maintenance. Unlike asphalt (which needs periodic sealing and shingle replacement), wood shakes (which require treatment and rot prevention), or clay tile (which cracks and needs repair), Interlock aluminum resists cracking, splitting, curling, and rotting by design. The two-sided Alunar coating is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance. Annual gutter cleaning is recommended in any climate with 1173 mm of rainfall and deciduous trees nearby. Occasional rinsing removes salt spray residue in coastal areas. The 30-year coating warranty against chalking and fading ensures aesthetic durability with no refinishing. Over 50 years, maintenance costs for aluminum are a fraction of asphalt or traditional materials.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost over the life of my home?

Yes—Interlock is the last roof you'll buy. While initial cost is higher than asphalt, the lifetime limited warranty (non-prorated for the original owner, transferable 50 years to the next owner) eliminates the cycle of tear-off, disposal, and replacement every 15-20 years. Asphalt contributes to landfill waste; aluminum is ~95% recyclable. Over 50 years, you'll replace asphalt 2-3 times at escalating labor and material costs. Interlock's durability, minimal maintenance, insurance discounts (UL 2218 Class 4), energy savings (energy-efficiency reflectance), and transferable warranty build equity in your home. Appraisals increasingly recognize metal roofing as a premium feature. The total cost of ownership—not just installation price—strongly favors aluminum.

How does a metal roof handle Riverhead's 1170 mm of annual rainfall?

The four-way interlocking panel design, proper underlayment, and solid deck underneath create a unified water-shedding surface that outperforms asphalt in heavy rain. With Riverhead averaging about 1173 mm of rainfall per year, leak prevention is critical. The tight interlocking seams—each panel locks mechanically to its neighbor—prevent water from penetrating between courses. Professional installation by Interlock Roofing of America (serving the region since 2014) ensures proper slope, flashing, and fastening that comply with ICC-ES ESR-1790 code requirements. The Guardian Warranty covers leaks and water intrusion. Unlike asphalt, which deteriorates and develops gaps as it ages, aluminum panels maintain their seal indefinitely.

Is there a local installer for Interlock metal roofing in Riverhead?

Yes. Interlock Roofing of America has served Riverhead and the surrounding region since 2014, providing installation, warranty support, and knowledge of local conditions. The local team understands Riverhead's climate—1173 mm annual rainfall, 53 cm snow, 41 freeze-thaw days, and coastal salt influence—and tailors installation to these specifics. Local service means faster response times, familiarity with municipal code inspectors, and accountability in your community. When you choose a certified local installer, you receive genuine warranty coverage, proper panel interlocking and fastening, and the expertise to maximize the roof's 50+ year lifespan. Contact Interlock Roofing of America directly for a no-obligation inspection and estimate.
