Review: June 10, 2016 Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in New Suffolk

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in New Suffolk, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in New Suffolk.

Will a metal roof hold up through New Suffolk's freeze-thaw cycles?

Yes—aluminum thrives in freeze-thaw environments because it expands and contracts uniformly without cracking or splitting. New Suffolk experiences about 41 freeze-thaw days per year, plus roughly 53 cm of snow and 1173 mm of rain, all of which stress traditional materials like asphalt and wood shakes. Aluminum's oxide layer remains stable through these cycles and never traps moisture. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 alloy (ASTM B209) used in Interlock panels has been installed from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations, where freeze-thaw is far more extreme than Long Island experiences.

How does a metal roof handle snow and ice buildup?

Metal roofing sheds snow and ice more effectively than asphalt because its smooth, hard surface prevents moisture from bonding. New Suffolk averages about 53 cm of snow annually with typical gusts reaching 157 km/h, meaning wind often clears accumulated snow naturally. The four-way interlocking panels and proper installation prevent water infiltration even when ice dams do form at the eaves. Snow guards can be installed if you prefer to retain snow for insulation or to prevent roof-to-ground slides. The lightweight design—Slate profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft—means no structural reinforcement is needed even if snow briefly accumulates.

Can a metal roof withstand nor'easters and coastal wind gusts?

Absolutely. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), and New Suffolk's typical wind gusts peak around 157 km/h—well within that limit. The panels lock together mechanically in four directions, so wind cannot lift or separate individual sheets. This design is why the roof performs in coastal and near-coastal areas where wind stress is constant. Suffolk County's exposure to Atlantic storms makes this durability especially valuable, and the interlocking system has been tested and verified under ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790.

Why won't aluminum roofing rust like steel does?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—only a self-healing oxide layer forms on the surface. If that layer is scratched during installation or maintenance, it automatically re-forms to protect the metal beneath. Steel roofing, by contrast, will rust and eventually rot if the coating is compromised. Interlock panels are coated with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides, and that two-sided protection is especially valuable in humid climates like New Suffolk, where average annual rainfall reaches 1173 mm and salt air from nearby water can accelerate corrosion in ferrous metals. The 30-year coating warranty against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214 / D2244) covers both sides, ensuring long-term integrity.

Does this roof protect against hail damage, and will my insurer care?

Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 performance often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because it demonstrates superior impact resistance compared to asphalt shingles or traditional tile. Many insurers recognize metal roofing as a loss-control upgrade. While New Suffolk's climate data does not highlight extreme hail frequency, the Class 4 rating provides comprehensive protection if severe weather occurs. Check with your insurer about discounts; the durability and impact resistance of Interlock roofing is well-documented and may lower your premiums.

How does metal roofing perform in heavy rain and coastal downpours?

Metal roofing is inherently leak-resistant because water runs off hard, smooth surfaces rather than pooling or soaking in. New Suffolk receives about 1173 mm of rainfall annually, and the four-way interlocking panels prevent water from entering seams or gaps. Installation over a solid deck with proper underlayment creates a redundant barrier—if water somehow breaches the metal, the decking and underlayment block it before reaching your attic. The panels themselves are manufactured to ICC-ES evaluation standards (ESR-1790) that govern water penetration and drainage. Because aluminum does not absorb moisture and the coating is warranted for 30 years, the whole system remains watertight decade after decade.

What's the real lifespan of this roof, and what does the warranty cover?

Interlock offers a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. The warranty is transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years of protection from completion, which appeals to homebuyers and strengthens resale value. Because aluminum does not rust, rot, or split, and the Alunar coating is warranted for 30 years against fading, the roof typically outlasts most other materials installed on homes in New Suffolk. The four-way interlocking design and impact rating (UL 2218 Class 4) protect against mechanical failure. This is genuinely the last roof you will need to install.

Will I need to reinforce my roof structure for metal shingles?

No reinforcement is needed. Interlock's Slate profile weighs just 0.41 lb/sq ft, and even the Tile profile—which visually replicates heavy clay or concrete—weighs only about 0.59 lb/sq ft, roughly 96% lighter than the real thing. Most existing roofs can support this weight without structural upgrades, which saves thousands in construction costs and keeps your project on schedule. Traditional tile or slate would require engineering review and often steel reinforcement; Interlock installs directly over most existing asphalt roofs. This lightweight advantage is especially valuable in New Suffolk, where older coastal homes may have aging framing that cannot bear heavy loads.

How much upkeep does a metal roof really need?

Minimal. Metal roofing requires far less maintenance than asphalt shingles (which degrade over time and shed granules), wood shakes (which split, curl, and harbor moss), or tile (which cracks and must be individually replaced). With Interlock's sealed, non-porous aluminum surface, there is no algae growth, no decomposition, and no seasonal debris accumulation in the way asphalt absorbs. Annual inspection and occasional gutter cleaning suffice. Because the coating is warranted for 30 years against chalking and fading, even color-fade maintenance is eliminated. The CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance compared to conventional roofing. Over New Suffolk's 41 annual freeze-thaw cycles and 1173 mm of rainfall, this durability translates to reliable performance and peace of mind.

Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt shingles?

Yes. Interlock aluminum panels are roughly 95% recyclable at end of life, and aluminum itself is infinitely recyclable without degradation. Asphalt shingles, by contrast, end up in landfills by the millions of tons annually and cannot be economically recovered. Because Interlock roofs last decades longer than asphalt (which typically lasts 15–25 years), you install fewer roofs over your home's lifetime, reducing resource consumption and landfill burden. New Suffolk's climate—with 1173 mm of rain, 53 cm of snow, and 41 freeze-thaw days—accelerates asphalt aging, so metal roofing makes even more environmental sense locally. At the end of your roof's life, aluminum retains significant scrap value and enters the recycling stream rather than a dump.
