Review: June 10, 2016Completion: March 1, 2016

I am very disgusted with what happen in terms of what the salesperson told me I was going to get. My neighbor has the same roof and said that he had a good job Interlock was over sold and under delivered in terms of what they promised. I think they could have improved on customer service, follow up, letting the customer know when the start dates change, and the installers should be more prideful in their work. I called back several times about when they were going to start the work. I was told by the contractor that my problems would be forward to the office but no one in the office knew about my problems. I know foresee that I will have issues down the road because it was not put on properly. I think they should do it right the first time and do exactly what they say they will do. Some of my concerns and issues are based on what I have gone through. I don't want anyone else to go through this. I feel that there might be some customers who don't speak up and will just let things slide by and that isn't right. The owner doesn't know what the people are costing his company by the lack of workmanship and quality of work and customer service. When people get this kind of service they will never use that company again. I told Jennifer that they gave me a Mercedes roof but had installers for Ikea install it. My neighbor feels bad for recommending them to me.I work at home and I am most of the time. The last day they completed the job no one told me that it was going to be the last day. I was two hours away when I got the call that it was the last day and they were done and I needed to sign paperwork. He wanted me to walk around the property to look at the work but by the time I got home the sun had already set and I couldn't see anything. I refused to sign off on the work.

I would love to do it, but I can't justify spending that much money. I love the product, but I'd have to win some money to afford it. I like the sales pitch, and the salesman, but it cost too much. They have a unique product, and the design is good.

We are writing to thank your company for the wonderful new roof installation that we have. It is refreshing in today's business world to be able to have a company say and do exactly what is expected of them. Your sales representative, Robert Allen, was very knowledgeable and informative about the product and the installation of it. He was not an aggressive salesman, which we appreciated. The installers were the BEST! Dmitry, Leonid and Danny were the hardest working men we have ever had work on anything that we have ever had done at our house. They worked every moment that they were here, and the most severe conditions. The job was finished in a timely manor. We definitely will recommend your company to our friends.

I’m not sure who to best direct this letter of appreciation to but I’m assuming it will be shared with Interlock officials. As briefly mentioned in an email to you we are thrilled with everything. From our initial deliberations in choosing Interlock to the completion of the project we have been impressed. We have completed many remodeling projects in our home. Replacing a roof certainly would be considered major. To know that we will not need to worry about replacing it is very comforting, not to mention the impressive appearance and worth it has added to our home and neighborhood. We would be remiss if we didn’t mention the extraordinary work and work habits of Nazar. Committed, exacting, attention to detail, particular are words that immediately come to mind. His knowledge and work ethic are off the scale – long work days, mindful of what needs doing next (particularly with vagaries of spring weather) are noteworthy. He’s a gem you can absolutely depend on. We await our first major nasty weather event to put this all to test – one that we were very confident about. Thank you once again. It is reassuring to know we will benefit so nicely from the superior workmanship and quality of the roofing products.

My wife and I wanted you to know that we are very pleased with the new Interlock shingle roof recently installed on our twenty year old home. The color matches the rest of our home and the shingles look tremendous. While we knew we needed a new roof and we we looked at a number of different options and contractors, we believed that selecting your company was without a doubt a winner in every respect. We became aware of your product through the website of the ">Metal Roofing Alliance that led us to your company's own web page. Subsequently, we met with Mr. Robert Allen, Regional Marketing Coordinator of New York's Best Roof, Inc., who fully addressed all of our questions and was readily available throughout the process. Installation was also handled in a very professional manner, and we could not ask for better assistance from either Mr. Allen or the installation crew of New York's Best Roof, Inc. We look forward to many happy years under the security of our new aluminum shingle roof, and would gladly recommend your product and the team from New York's Best Roof, Inc. to anyone. We are also very pleased with the energy savings, maintenance free characteristics and environmentally friendly aspects of our new ">aluminum roof.

To: Interlock / New York's Best Roof My husband and I wanted to write to you to let you know how pleased we are with our entire experience working with Interlock. We now have a beautiful new roof and the process was totally professional and first rate. We first learned about Interlock from information received in the mail. However Mr. Robert Allen, our sales coordinator, gave a very thorough, knowledgeable presentation of the roofing product, answering our questions, showing samples and leaving us with written materials we could look over at our leisure. Mr. Allen was always a phone call away to answer our questions, returning our calls if not the same day certainly with a 24-hour period. Once we decided to purchase an Interlock roof, the time frame spelled out in the contract was adhered to. Financing was available and Mr. Patrick Doyle worked very diligently to get us the best rate of interest available to us. Whatever concerns we had were addressed and the paperwork was simple and straightforward. The installment crew was professional, courteous and hardworking. Our roof was done in 2 1/2 days and clean-up was always done at the end of each day. The crew always spoke with my husband in a polite, unobtrusive manner and did whatever it took to make the installation as easy as possible. Now not only do we have a great looking roof with a 50-year " title="warranty" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">warranty, we also bought a great product. The roofing itself creates minimal waste and is recyclable. It reflects the sun in the summer so our air conditioning works more efficiently. In the winter we no longer have to snow rake the roof, the snow melts off automatically. Our house now seems quieter, even our 14 year old son remarked he didn't know it was raining until the rain hit the windows. Our new roof gives our house a more finished look and according to our tax expert, ">metal roofs are tax-deductible! My husband and I can not only say enough positive things about interlock. We would highly recommend their product and company to anyone considering a new roof. Drive by and see the finished product!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Westhampton

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Westhampton, New York. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Westhampton.

Does metal roofing handle heavy snow and ice in Westhampton winters?

Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are engineered to shed snow and ice safely. Westhampton receives about 53 cm of snow annually, and the roof's smooth, sloped surfaces naturally slide accumulation rather than trap it like asphalt. The panels are warranted to resist wind gusts up to 120 mph, which easily handles the typical gusts of 157 km/h that can accompany nor'easters. Snow guards are available if you want to control runoff patterns on multi-story sections.

How does aluminum handle freeze-thaw cycles?

Aluminum thrives in freeze-thaw environments because it contains no iron and cannot rust or rot when its oxide layer is intact. Westhampton experiences roughly 41 freeze-thaw days per year—a cycle that splits asphalt and wood shingles. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy expands and contracts uniformly without cracking or delaminating. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is bonded to both panel sides, so salt spray from Atlantic proximity and thermal cycling won't degrade the finish. That's why Interlock panels are installed from coastal homes to Antarctic research stations.

Can an aluminum roof rust, especially near the ocean?

No. Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Instead, it forms a thin, self-healing oxide layer that protects the underlying metal—even when scratched. Westhampton's maritime climate means salt air from the Atlantic, but the roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) and Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides are specifically engineered for salt-air exposure. Steel metal roofs do rust; aluminum does not. This is why the Guardian Warranty explicitly covers rusting—because it won't happen.

Will a metal roof blow off in a nor'easter?

No. The four-way interlocking panels lock together to form a unified structure and are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Westhampton's typical gusts reach 157 km/h (about 98 mph), well within that threshold, and the UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating demonstrates the panel strength. Proper fastening to the underlying deck and adherence to Interlock Roofing of America's installation protocol—they've served this region since 2014—ensure the roof stays put during coastal storms.

Does hail damage a metal roof, and can it lower my insurance?

Interlock panels hold the highest hail impact rating available: UL 2218 Class 4. That means the roof resists impacts equivalent to 2-inch ice balls, and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Because metal roofs reduce damage claims, many homeowners qualify for insurance discounts. Ask your agent whether your carrier offers credits for a Class 4-rated roof. Westhampton's thunderstorm activity and occasional hail risk make impact resistance a practical advantage over asphalt, which dents and punctures easily.

Does an aluminum roof reduce cooling costs in summer?

Yes. energy-efficient colors reflect solar heat rather than absorbing it like asphalt. The coating achieves thermal emissivity of 0.84 and solar reflectance up to 0.55 on lighter finishes, reducing roof-surface temperatures and cooling load. Westhampton receives about 3207 sunshine hours annually, so reflective performance pays dividends during warm months. The Cool Roof Rating Council certification confirms measurable energy savings. Over a 50-year roof life, lower air-conditioning demand significantly offsets the initial investment, especially in a home with south or west-facing roof exposure.

Can I install metal roofing over my existing asphalt shingles without reinforcing the roof structure?

Yes—if you choose a lightweight profile. The Shingle installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft, and the Tile profile (which mimics concrete or clay tile) is about 96% lighter than actual tile. This means no structural reinforcement is required; the roof deck bears the same load as asphalt. A real slate or clay tile roof would demand costly beam and rafter upgrades. With Interlock, you get the authentic appearance of premium materials without rebuilding your structure. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation report confirms load compliance under IBC/IRC codes.

How long does a metal roof last, and what's covered by the warranty?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years from completion. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating is separately warranted for 30 years against chalking and fading. In practice, aluminum roofs installed 25+ years ago still perform; paired with Westhampton's 53 cm annual snow and 1173 mm rain, the roof endures cycles that shorten asphalt life to 15–20 years. This is your last roof.

Is an aluminum metal roof better for the environment than asphalt?

Yes. Aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable, so at end of life the panels return to the supply chain rather than a landfill. Asphalt shingles are not recyclable and contribute billions of tons to landfills annually. Interlock metal roofing eliminates the tear-off-and-dump cycle every 15–20 years. Over Westhampton's 1173 mm of annual rainfall and 41 freeze-thaw days, which accelerate asphalt degradation, metal roofing also reduces the frequency of replacements—fewer trucks, fewer roofing crews, lower embodied carbon. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance needs and environmental burden.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Westhampton, and how long does installation take?

Interlock Roofing of America, based locally, has served Westhampton and Suffolk County since 2014 and is the authorized installer for this region. They handle everything from assessment through final inspection and warranty registration. Installation timeline depends on roof size, complexity, and weather; a typical residential roof takes 3–7 days. Interlock can install over most existing roofs, so demolition time shrinks compared to a full tear-off. The team applies ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliant installation protocols to ensure your roof meets code and warranty terms. Contact them for a site-specific quote.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Westhampton’s climate?

Yes. Westhampton averages about 53 cm of snow, 1173 mm of rain, roughly 41 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 157 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
