Interlock roofing is a very professional group of people from the bottom up. They are patient, kind and understanding of all the problems with modern day roofing. Our entire experience working with interlock roofing has been amazing. I like to say they are faster than Amazon, we were told it takes about three days to complete, when the team got here they did a quick look and said we will be done in two days. It was done in two days just as we were told. They replaced all the damaged wafer board from vents not being properly installed. Fixed and properly installed all of our ventilation, which was just hanging in the crawl space before they replaced it. They cleaned up around the house at the end of each day and cleaned out the gutters. I would recommend them to anyone looking to have a long lasting metal roof and are tiered of trying to get a shingle roof contractor to even come out because shingles are so horrible they are backed up for over a year. Just think of it like this. shingle roofs have to be redone about every fifteen years so the contractors are always backed up and wouldn't give us the time of day. With interlock roofing it's one and done and gives them more time to move on and invest in your needs. They really took the time to listen and care about our situation and did everything they could to help us achieve a beautiful long lasting metal roof that we wanted.

I wanted to take a minute to tell you how happy we are with our new Interlock Roof. From working with you, in the beginning, the installation and not having to worry about a leaky roof ever again makes this one of the best investments we have made. We especially enjoyed working with your people. Angela in your office was such a pleasure to talk with, keeping us up to date on when we could expect the installation to begin. The installation crew (Peter, Art, and Victor) were very professional and so good about keeping the work area clean and worked around a barbecue we had planned with our neighbors. One of our initial concerns with a metal roof was what the noise level would be. Well, after all the rain that we have had in Oregon, we have to say that we think it is quieter than our old roof. Also, it is much more attractive than an asphalt roof. My wife and I are happy to have worked with you and will highly recommend you to anyone that needs to have a new roof on their home.

No Completing their projects on time. Their customer service and communication really lacks. Project managers need to be on site to address issues. Cleaning up after themselves to prevent accidents.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Mapleton

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Mapleton, Oregon. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Mapleton.

Does metal roofing handle heavy snow and ice in Lane County winters?

Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow effectively because of their smooth surface and steep-profile options like Slate and Shake, which break up ice buildup. Mapleton averages about 44 cm of snow annually with roughly 12 freeze-thaw days per year; these cycles are exactly where lightweight aluminum shines. At just 0.41 lb/sq ft, the Shingle profile won't trap heavy wet snow the way asphalt does, and it resists the repeated thaw-refreeze cracking that degrades conventional roofing. You can add snow guards if you prefer, but the material itself won't buckle or split under load.

Will a metal roof leak with Mapleton's 1,900 mm of annual rainfall?

Water is routed away by design, not pooled. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels create a unified surface where rain is shed laterally and downward through a sealed panel system; the interlocks themselves overlap in two directions, so water cannot enter horizontally. With about 1,893 mm of rain per year in Mapleton, traditional asphalt roofing degrades from constant moisture exposure, but aluminum's oxide layer resists corrosion entirely—it never develops the soft spots or separation points where leaks begin. Properly installed over solid decking with appropriate underlayment, an Interlock metal roof is as leak-proof as any alternative, and remains so for decades.

Why is aluminum better than steel roofing for Mapleton's wet climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element responsible for rust in steel roofing. When aluminum is exposed to air, it forms a protective oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, creating a barrier that actually improves with age. In Mapleton's 1,893 mm annual rainfall, this property is critical: steel roofs corrode from moisture cycling, but Interlock's 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloys maintain their integrity indefinitely. The dual-sided Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating adds 30-year warranty protection against chalking and fading, meaning your roof's appearance and function improve together, not degrade like asphalt in wet climates.

Can metal roofing withstand Mapleton's wind gusts and storms?

Yes. Interlock panels resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification—well above the ~119 km/h gusts recorded in Mapleton's climate history. The four-way interlocking system means each panel is mechanically fastened to the next in both directions; wind cannot find an edge to lift. This engineering is verified in ICC-ES ESR-1790, the building code evaluation that covers high-wind installation requirements. Many homeowners in coastal and mountainous regions experiencing similar gust patterns have trusted Interlock since 1997; the warranty covers wind failure, and in practice, the panel-to-panel mechanical bond distributes load so effectively that failure is rare.

Do I need to reinforce my home's structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is required. The Mediterranean Tile profile, the heaviest offering, weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, which would demand substantial structural upgrades. Even homes with aging timber framing can safely carry Interlock's Slate (0.41 lb/sq ft) or Shake (0.58 lb/sq ft) without modification. This lightweight advantage means installation can occur directly over most existing roofing, avoiding costly decking removal and waste, while delivering the visual depth and dimension of traditional materials. For older homes in Mapleton, this eliminates a major expense and construction disruption that would otherwise make a roof replacement prohibitive.

Will a metal roof reduce hail damage and insurance costs?

Interlock achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This non-combustible aluminum construction resists impact far better than asphalt, which fractures, or wood shake, which splits. While Mapleton's climate history doesn't flag hail as frequent, the durability profile means your roof won't degrade from the dozen freeze-thaw cycles and 3,083 sunshine hours that prematurely age conventional materials. Insurance carriers increasingly recognize metal roofing as lower-risk; many offer premium reductions that offset installation cost over 10–15 years. Contact your insurer with the UL 2218 Class 4 certification for a quote adjustment.

What's the real lifespan of an Interlock metal roof?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and impact resistance loss. One-time transferable, it extends 50 years of protection to the next owner from completion. This structure exists because Interlock roofs routinely outlast 50 years; aluminum's corrosion resistance means no degradation from Mapleton's 1,893 mm annual rainfall, and the 30-year PVDF coating warranty ensures color and finish stability long after asphalt has chalked to gray. Real-world installations from 1998 still perform flawlessly. The warranty simply reflects the material's actual behavior: asphalt fails at 15–20 years; an Interlock roof is typically the last one you'll install.

Does a metal roof reduce cooling costs and heat gain?

energy-efficient colors reflect solar heat rather than absorb it, lowering cooling demand during warm months and reducing peak temperatures on the roof surface. Thermal emissivity reaches 0.84 in some finishes, with aged solar reflectance up to 0.55, meaning less radiant heat enters your home compared to dark asphalt. Mapleton receives about 3,083 annual sunshine hours; even in the Pacific Northwest's temperate climate, this reflective property compounds year-round. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating quantifies this advantage: you're replacing a surface that absorbs heat with one that rejects it. Summer energy savings are modest but real; more important, you're protecting your interior from the thermal cycling that asphalt undergoes daily, extending insulation and structural integrity.

How much maintenance does a metal roof require?

Interlock aluminum roofing requires minimal maintenance—no annual inspections, no patching, no coating renewal. Unlike asphalt, which cracks and re-coats every 10 years, or wood shake, which splinters and requires fungicide treatment, aluminum won't rot, split, or curl despite Mapleton's 44 cm annual snow and 12 freeze-thaw cycles. Occasional leaf debris clearance from gutters is typical for any roof; that's all. The CALGreen-verified design acknowledges this reduced-maintenance advantage: you avoid the chemical treatments and labor that conventional materials demand. Over 30 years, the cost and environmental impact of avoiding repeat repairs and recoating far exceeds any upfront premium.

Can metal roofing look like slate, cedar shake, or tile?

Yes. Interlock offers five profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—each with authentic visual depth and texture matched to traditional materials. The interlocking four-way design means panels overlap seamlessly in multiple directions, creating shadow lines and dimension that replicate hand-laid roofing from a distance. Each profile is available in multiple finishes that age naturally over 10–15 years, developing character rather than degradation the way asphalt does. Homeowners in Mapleton can choose the architectural character that matches their home's style while gaining aluminum's 1,893 mm rainfall durability, Class 4 hail protection, and non-prorated lifetime warranty—attributes that slate, cedar, and tile cannot deliver.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Mapleton’s climate?

Yes. Mapleton averages about 44 cm of snow, 1893 mm of rain, roughly 12 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 119 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
