Review: June 14, 2025 Completion: May 16, 2025

Long wait on materials, installation was good, but not what I would call great (some dents, some uneven areas). The overall project had the potential to be fantastic (due to the construction of the house) and it fell short of that, but still looks great. Also dissappointed that they could not provide me with a certification letter for the wind, hail, and fire resistance. So installation had no effect on my homeowners insurance. At my previous home in Texas, that was standard for all roofing contractors. See previous comments

Review: May 14, 2025 Completion: November 19, 2024

This is the second review I have ever given. Absolutely couldn’t be happier about our new roof/skylights and the folks I dealt with during the whole process. Begins with the no pressure sales, support staff and ends with the people who did the work. Work was done in November and waited to give this review only because I wanted to see how it handled a Vermont winter and see if any issues came up. No issues, none! Not sure why, but I used a lot less oil this winter (colder and snowier winter than normal). Maybe my 30 years old skylights or something to do with the roof system? If you are on the fence about using Interlock Roofing or the Shake Shingle type of roof, my advice to you would be to get off the fence and pull the trigger!

Review: February 11, 2025 Completion: December 9, 2024

Communications with the office could be improved. Dropping and losing nails and scraps in the snow is understandable but not picking up excess nails dropped while filling nail pouches is not okay. Also as a non smoker cigarette butts on the ground are definitely not okay.

Review: November 21, 2024 Completion: October 29, 2024

We just put an Interlock metal roof on our house. We were very happy with Chris's presentation and and decided to move forward with them. They started when they said they would and the crew worked full days until it was complete. The install manager Paul stopped by multiple times and the crew chief, Nazar was very diligent. We look forward to many years ahead of trouble free living through Vermonts wind, rain, and snow. Thank you Chris, and the office staff.

Review: April 18, 2022 Completion: December 14, 2021

Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value We were looking to replace our shingle roof with a standing seam metal roof for our home in Vermont. We called over ten roofing contractors and received quotes from four of them. I had the best feeling about Interlock Roofing from the beginning, mostly due to my interactions with Mark. Additionally, they were the most competitive on price. Once we committed and signed a contract, we dealt with Jennifer and Paul to coordinate and complete the installation. They were incredibly responsive, and timely, and the entire project was completed in four days. Such a pleasure to work with. The entire process was seamless, and the roof looks phenomenal. Very pleased overall. Service: Roof installation

Review: April 18, 2022 Completion: May 6, 2019

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness, Value Professional, pleasant & responsive staff (Jonathan & Jennifer). The roof is beautiful to look at & highly functional. There was a delay in installation because of VT weather, but that was unavoidable. Jonathan reached out to us after two years to check on us & the roof, which we thought was very considerate & just good business practice. We are very happy with the roof & would recommend Interlock to any of our friends. Service: Roof installation

Review: January 21, 2019 Completion: December 1, 2018

I have two concerns/complaints about my new Interlock roof. A few places along the ridge cap appear raised - instead of being completely straight and level horizontally, there are a few places where two shingles meet in a slightly raised, A-shape. Also there are several places on the porch roof and on the roof between the garage and main house where the shingles are depressed - flattened or "crushed concavely". My guess is it's from being knelt on by the installers and I don't like how it looks. I was told the roof would be installed in October. It wasn't started until November and it wasn't finished until a week before Christmas. The installers endured terribly cold and wet weather and I'm concerned it affected the quality of the installation.

Review: January 13, 2019 Completion: December 22, 2018

Scheduling vs. actual appearance of crew (as above) could have been communicated more clearly. It seems the project was pushed into late December causing my concern as to low temperature (zero \*F) affecting product and installation. So far though, the workmanship and function appears to be at 100%. A few major wind storms since completion had no ill effect, and the intense rain storms have resulted in no penetration into the home. (I could not say that prior to installation!)

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in East Corinth

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in East Corinth, Vermont. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in East Corinth.

How does a metal roof handle East Corinth's heavy snow and ice buildup?

Metal roofs shed snow more effectively than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface prevents snow from bonding; with about 154 cm of annual snowfall here, that matters. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to 120 mph wind resistance, which means they hold fast when snow and ice load shifts. The lightweight design (Slate profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement is needed, even under snow accumulation. Snow guards are available if you want to manage roof runoff, but the aluminum itself won't buckle, crack, or curl like asphalt does through East Corinth's roughly 94 freeze-thaw cycles per year.

Will freeze-thaw cycles damage an aluminum metal roof in Vermont?

No—aluminum actually thrives through freeze-thaw cycling because it expands and contracts uniformly without cracking, splitting, or curling. East Corinth experiences about 94 freeze-thaw days annually, which destroys asphalt shingles and wood shakes over time. Aluminum's oxide layer, which forms naturally on the 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 alloy, actually self-heals when scratched—meaning winter salt and sand won't initiate corrosion. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating is warranted 30 years against degradation, and with roughly 858 mm of rain plus snowmelt each year, that protection pays off. This is why Interlock has been manufacturing since 1998 and installing from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctica.

Can aluminum metal roofing rust or corrode in a snowy Vermont climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, it develops a protective oxide layer that self-heals when scratched. That's a fundamental advantage in East Corinth's wet climate—about 858 mm of rain annually plus 154 cm of snow means constant moisture exposure. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum is specified to ASTM B209, and Interlock applies Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating to both sides of every panel, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Even when road salt and winter sand scour the roof, the aluminum simply cannot initiate the corrosion cycle that steel roofing does. This dual-layer protection (material plus coating) is why the Guardian Warranty covers rusting—because it won't happen.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof in East Corinth?

No structural reinforcement is needed because Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light. The Slate profile installs at 0.41 lb/sq ft, and even the heaviest profile, Mediterranean Tile, comes in at 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most existing roof structures in East Corinth can support this weight without modification, which means you can often install a new Interlock roof directly over your current roof, avoiding the cost and landfill waste of a tear-off. The four-way interlocking design handles the region's gusts up to 111 km/h without requiring additional bracing. This simplicity and speed make installation straightforward compared to slate or tile, which do demand structural upgrades.

Will hail damage a metal roof, and can it help my insurance rates?

Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. While East Corinth's climate record doesn't show frequent hail, the robust impact resistance means your roof is protected against the severe weather events that do occur in the region. Many homeowners find that Class 4 impact resistance qualifies them for homeowners insurance discounts, which can offset part of the roof cost over the warranty period. Ask your insurance agent about available credits; the documentation is straightforward. This protection also means you won't face unexpected perforation damage during rare severe storms.

How well does metal roofing resist Vermont wind and ice storms?

Interlock metal roofing is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. East Corinth's typical gusts reach about 111 km/h, so you have a substantial safety margin. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels lock together mechanically, preventing wind from lifting or separating panels during the ice storms and winter gales common to Orange County. This interlock design means no fasteners are exposed to wind shear, and no single panel failure cascades into roof failure. The lightweight panels (0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft) also mean wind forces are distributed across a lower mass, reducing structural stress. Unlike asphalt shingles, which can blow off or curl in sustained wind, Interlock stays secured for decades.

What warranty does Interlock offer, and how long will the roof actually last?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once to the next owner, who receives 50 years of coverage from completion. Unlike asphalt roofing, which typically lasts 15-20 years and requires complete replacement, Interlock's aluminum is designed for multi-decade durability. The Alunar coating is separately warranted 30 years against chalking and fading per ASTM D4214/D2244. In East Corinth's challenging climate—154 cm of snow, 858 mm of rain, and 94 freeze-thaw cycles yearly—this means your last roof purchase is truly your last one.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?

Metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance beyond occasional gutter cleaning, whereas asphalt shingles and wood shakes demand regular inspection, sealing, and repairs. Interlock's aluminum panels don't rot, don't need algae treatment, don't require re-sealing, and don't splinter or curl even after East Corinth's roughly 94 freeze-thaw cycles per year. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy with Alunar 70% PVDF coating resists weathering that degrades asphalt and wood; you won't be replacing damaged shingles or paying for professional moss removal. With about 2920 sunshine hours yearly and 858 mm of rain, traditional roofing materials deteriorate steadily. Interlock's CALGreen-verified design means reduced maintenance cost over the roof's lifetime—no professional sealing, no emergency patching, no recurring repairs.

Can a metal roof really save money on cooling costs in Vermont?

Yes, if you choose energy-efficient colors. Interlock's reflective coatings achieve up to 0.55 initial solar reflectance (Aged Copper Penny) and 0.84 thermal emissivity, meaning they reflect heat that asphalt shingles absorb and re-radiate into your home. In East Corinth, with about 2920 annual sunshine hours, this reflectance reduces cooling load during summer months and offsets part of your air-conditioning cost. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating verifies this performance independently. Vermont winters don't require cooling, but spring and fall shoulder seasons benefit from reduced solar heat gain, lowering your HVAC cycling. Over 50+ years, the energy savings compound, especially if you're replacing an older, dark asphalt roof that absorbs the region's strong solar radiation during clear days.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in East Corinth, and how quickly can they schedule?

Interlock Metal Roofing (New England) Inc. has been serving this region since 1999 and is your local installer for Orange County and East Corinth. They understand the local climate—154 cm of annual snowfall, 858 mm of rain, and the specific installation challenges of Vermont's freeze-thaw cycles—and can schedule your project to work around weather windows. Right now, there's a regional promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. Contact them directly for a timeline; most metal roof installations complete in a few days because the panels install quickly and can go over existing roofing without tear-off delays. Because Interlock has been manufacturing in Delta, BC since 1998 and the local team has 25+ years' regional experience, you're working with installers who know the material and the climate.
