Initial communication with staff unreliable. I left messages that were never answered. Too many times the person I needed to speak with was out to lunch and at unusual hours of the day.

Review: January 8, 2018 Completion: December 11, 2017

The crew was professional, from beginning to end. I would have felt much better about the closing of the project if anyone of the management team had stopped by and walked the project, looking for feedback and observing the finished product. As it is, I found one spot that is right up front over the front door that looks a little off, but nobody followed up, besides this survey, so I let it go. The crew was racing the sunset on Friday night and we never got the chance to review the job together upon completion. I gave high marks in all categories, not wanting to cast a shadow on an overall well done job. Thanks for asking.

The salesperson could have elaborated further on things like the appearance of the piping and ventilation. The pictures he showed me depicting the front side of the house featured much less stuff sticking out than the finished product. The pictures gave me the impression that nothing would be sticking out, when this did not end up being the case.

I cannot think of anything as everything from presentation to completion of the roofing project went smoothly! I do get compliments on my new roof from Interlock- the red color and the slate look get rave reviews! I do recommend Interlock to anyone I meet that gives a compliment or says they are considering a new roof.

Review: September 23, 2020 Completion: December 10, 2004

In 2004 my wife and I decided to purchase the lifetime Interlock Roof. I was fifty at the time and had been called over to my Father In Laws house several times to clean out his gutters and clean off his roof with a pressure washer. I told my wife I did not want our kids to have to do that for us in our later years. The situation with my in-laws provided the motivation to start the search for a permanent roof. We landed on the Interlock Roof at the Western Washington Fair in 2004. The roof was installed and have not had any problems afterwards. There are some idiosyncrasies with this type of roof: The roof is not made to be walked on When it snows the snow builds up for a 1 to 3-inch amount and then slides off the roof and onto the ground below The roof keeps its original look, never needs to be pressure washed off or any other maintenance. We are very satisfied with the roof and very glad we will never have to purchase another roof again.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Clover Creek

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Clover Creek, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Clover Creek.

Will a metal roof handle freeze-thaw cycles in Pierce County winters?

Yes—aluminum expands and contracts with temperature swings, but its oxide layer self-heals when scratched, and the material itself cannot rust or rot through repeated freezing. Clover Creek experiences about 46 freeze-thaw days per year with average annual snowfall near 30 cm. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloys (ASTM B209) are engineered for exactly these conditions; Interlock panels have been installed from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations without material failure from cycling stress.

Do metal roofs shed snow properly, or do ice dams form?

Metal roofs shed snow and ice more readily than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface offers less friction for buildup. With Clover Creek averaging 30 cm of snow annually and about 46 freeze-thaw days, the interlocking four-way panel design prevents water penetration at seams while the lightweight aluminum (Shake profile at ~0.58 lb/sq ft) bears the load without structural reinforcement. Snow guards can be added if you want to manage shedding onto walkways—the system was designed to handle your region's typical snow load without ice dam complications.

Why is aluminum better than steel for a rainy Pacific Northwest climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, it forms a thin oxide layer that self-heals when scratched. Steel roofs must be coated to prevent rusting and eventually fail when the coating wears. In Clover Creek's wet climate (1195 mm rain, gusts to 98 km/h), salt-laden winds can accelerate corrosion on steel. Interlock applies a 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (Alunar®) to both sides of every panel, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading—your aluminum roof stays corrosion-free and color-stable through decades of exposure.

Can a metal roof handle Pierce County windstorms?

Yes. The four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Clover Creek's typical daily-maximum winds are about 14 km/h with gusts reaching 98 km/h—well within the system's capacity. The locked seams prevent water infiltration and panel lift during gusts, and because the Shake profile weighs only ~0.58 lb/sq ft, wind forces have minimal structural load to overcome. Your roof stays secure without the uplift risk that affects heavier asphalt or tile alternatives.

Do I need to reinforce my roof framing to install a metal tile roof?

No. Interlock's Tile profile is approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile, installing at just ~0.59 lb/sq ft. Concrete tile weighs roughly 15 lb/sq ft, so the aluminum version eliminates the structural reinforcement that traditional tile demands. This means you avoid costly framing upgrades and can install the Tile aesthetic over most existing roofs without engineering work. For Clover Creek homes carrying the typical snow load of 30 cm annually, the lightweight aluminum distributes that weight safely across your existing framing.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost over a 40-year lifespan?

Metal roofing costs more upfront but eliminates the replacement cycle that asphalt requires every 20–25 years. With The Guardian's lifetime limited (non-prorated) warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and impact loss—you buy one roof, not two or three. Current financing offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. Clover Creek's wet climate (1195 mm rain annually) and freeze-thaw stress (46 days per year) accelerate asphalt failure; aluminum avoids both, making the long-term cost per year substantially lower.

What does the lifetime warranty on an Interlock metal roof actually cover?

The Guardian warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance—the main failure modes for roofs. It is one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years from completion, so the roof retains marketable value. The coating itself is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244 standards). For Clover Creek, where 46 annual freeze-thaw cycles and 1195 mm of rain create constant material stress, this warranty means you own a roof with no planned obsolescence.

How much maintenance does an aluminum metal roof need?

Aluminum metal roofing requires minimal maintenance—no sealing, no re-coating, no structural repairs from rot or rust. Asphalt roofs need regular inspection, gutter clearing, and eventual replacement. Interlock's CALGreen-verified design reduces maintenance burden compared to wood or tile, both of which require periodic upkeep in Clover Creek's wet climate. Periodic gutter cleaning (for any roof) is standard; the Alunar® coating (70% PVDF fluorocarbon) resists fading and chalking for 30 years, so your roof's appearance stays consistent through roughly 12,000 sunshine hours and 1195 mm of annual rainfall without additional finish work.

Who installs Interlock metal roofs in Clover Creek, Washington?

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the Pacific Northwest region since 1997 and is the local installer for Clover Creek. The company installs from the 1998-founded manufacturing plant in Delta, BC, giving you direct access to product expertise and warranty support. Interlock's installer network is familiar with Pierce County's climate—1195 mm of rain, 30 cm average snow, and gusts to 98 km/h—and installs systems over existing roofs to minimize disruption. Current offers include no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation.

Will a metal roof reduce cooling costs in summer?

energy-efficient Interlock colors with initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny) and thermal emissivity of 0.84 reflect heat that asphalt absorbs, reducing cooling demand. Clover Creek receives about 2943 sunshine hours annually, and while Pacific Northwest summers are moderate, the reflective coating helps during clear-sky periods. The cool-roof properties are verified by the Cool Roof Rating Council. In winter, the same thermal properties reduce radiant heat loss through the roof, lowering heating load during the 46 freeze-thaw days when temperature swings are greatest. The net energy benefit compounds over decades of ownership.
