I cannot think of anything as everything from presentation to completion of the roofing project went smoothly! I do get compliments on my new roof from Interlock- the red color and the slate look get rave reviews! I do recommend Interlock to anyone I meet that gives a compliment or says they are considering a new roof.

Review: September 23, 2020Completion: December 10, 2004

In 2004 my wife and I decided to purchase the lifetime Interlock Roof. I was fifty at the time and had been called over to my Father In Laws house several times to clean out his gutters and clean off his roof with a pressure washer. I told my wife I did not want our kids to have to do that for us in our later years. The situation with my in-laws provided the motivation to start the search for a permanent roof. We landed on the Interlock Roof at the Western Washington Fair in 2004. The roof was installed and have not had any problems afterwards. There are some idiosyncrasies with this type of roof: The roof is not made to be walked on When it snows the snow builds up for a 1 to 3-inch amount and then slides off the roof and onto the ground below The roof keeps its original look, never needs to be pressure washed off or any other maintenance. We are very satisfied with the roof and very glad we will never have to purchase another roof again.

Review: August 1, 2006Completion: July 18, 2006

We just wanted to let you know how thoroughly-pleased we are with our new Interlock Roof. It is absolutely beautiful and we have had a lot of people stopping as they walk or drive by to admire how nice it looks. Everything progressed on the job exactly as you had shared with us when we signed the contract. There were no surprises. From the beginning when we got the call to set up a start date, to the final clean up and retrieval of the waste bin everything was handled so professionally. Viktor and Alex were a dream to work with-so-pleasant and each day everything was left so tidy that it would have been hard for guests to tell that we were in the middle of a re-roofing job. We will highly recommend your product and doing business with such a professional and obviously well run company.

I want to thank you for a job well done on my new roof. The work was done on schedule in spite of winter weather, and Brian, your roofer, was very polite and responsive. Several neighbors have called to comment on how nice it looks.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Milton

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Milton, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Milton.

Can I get a metal roof that looks like slate or cedar shake?

Yes—Interlock offers five distinct profiles, including Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile, each finished with our Alunar 70% PVDF coating for color and UV protection. You get the authentic architectural character you want without the weight penalty that slate or tile imposes on your Milton home's frame. All profiles carry a lifetime limited warranty and install faster than traditional materials.

Is a metal roof really cheaper than asphalt over 30+ years?

A metal roof typically costs more upfront but lasts two to three times longer than asphalt shingles, meaning one Interlock installation replaces multiple asphalt reroofs over your home's lifetime. Given Milton's 1,195 mm annual rainfall and 46 freeze-thaw cycles, asphalt degrades faster here. Factor in zero rust maintenance on aluminum versus patching, and metal becomes the lower total-cost option. Our current promotion offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation.

What warranty comes with an Interlock metal roof?

Interlock metal roofs come with a transferable lifetime limited warranty—a guarantee that follows your home to the next owner, adding resale appeal. We've manufactured these systems since 1998 and installed them from coastal salt-air environments to an Antarctic research station, so longevity is proven across extreme climates. Milton's moderate conditions mean your roof will perform reliably for decades without the material degradation asphalt experiences in our rainfall and freeze-thaw patterns.

Do metal roofs rust in rainy climates like ours?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, it develops a self-healing oxide layer that protects against corrosion. Milton receives roughly 1,195 mm of rain annually, and aluminum handles that moisture year-round without the rust problems that plague steel roofing. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating adds another layer of protection, meaning your investment stays structurally sound through decades of Pacific Northwest weather.

Is a metal roof fire-resistant?

Interlock metal roofing is non-combustible and available with a Class A fire rating, the highest standard for fire safety. Unlike wood shakes or asphalt shingles, aluminum panels cannot ignite, making them a smart choice for homeowners prioritizing protection. Whether Milton experiences wildfire risk or you simply want peace of mind, a metal roof provides passive fire defense without any maintenance or special coatings needed.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need?

Metal roofs require far less maintenance than asphalt, wood, or tile. With no shingles to curl, crack, or shed granules, and no wood to rot after Milton's 1,195 mm annual rainfall, you'll mainly rinse debris a couple times yearly. Aluminum won't rust, crack in freeze-thaw cycles, or need patching. Most homeowners simply enjoy their roof for decades without repair calls—a stark contrast to asphalt, which typically needs attention every 5–10 years in our climate.

Will a metal roof help sell my Milton home?

Metal roofing is a visible, lasting upgrade that appeals to buyers seeking durability and low maintenance. Your home's curb appeal improves immediately with profiles like Slate or Mediterranean Tile, and buyers understand they're getting a roof that will outlast most mortgages. A transferable lifetime limited warranty sweetens the deal further. In a market where protection against 46 annual freeze-thaw cycles and 1,195 mm rainfall matters, a metal roof signals a well-maintained, future-proof home.

How does a metal roof handle Milton's snow and ice?

Milton averages about 30 cm of snow yearly, and metal roofing sheds snow and ice efficiently due to its smooth surface and thermal properties. The four-way interlocking panels distribute loads evenly, preventing ice dams from forming along seams. Lightweight aluminum (unlike slate or tile) needs no structural reinforcement, so your home supports snow loads without costly frame upgrades. For homeowners concerned about Milton's winter precipitation, metal roofing provides reliable performance without ice-dam repairs.

Can a metal roof withstand Milton's wind gusts?

Absolutely. Milton experiences typical daily winds around 14 km/h with gusts reaching 98 km/h, and Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are engineered to resist these forces without lifting, buckling, or separating. Each panel locks tightly to its neighbors, distributing wind loads across the entire roof system. This design eliminates the vulnerability of shingles or tiles that can loosen or blow off in sustained gusts—giving you confidence through Pacific Northwest storms.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Milton?

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served Pierce County and the surrounding region since 1997, bringing deep familiarity with Milton's climate and local building codes. Our local team understands freeze-thaw demands, heavy rainfall patterns, and wind exposure, and they install over existing roofs when possible to minimize disruption. With over two decades of regional experience and access to current promotions—no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation—we're your trusted partner for a lasting metal roof.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Milton’s climate?

Yes. Milton averages about 30 cm of snow, 1195 mm of rain, roughly 46 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 98 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
