Review: October 14, 2025

We recently had our roof replaced with interlock aluminum shingles and we love how it made our house stand out in our neighborhood. I would have given 5 stars but there were few things that I wanted to point out. Ross arrived on time and did an excellent presentation. I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.

Review: August 23, 2025

We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Harrah

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Harrah, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Harrah.

Does metal roofing handle Harrah's winter snow loads and ice dams?

Yes. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice effectively because the smooth surface prevents buildup that leads to dams. Harrah receives about 112 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 101 freeze-thaw cycles per year—conditions that crack asphalt shingles and wood shakes. Aluminum's oxide layer self-heals when scratched by ice and won't split or curl. The lightweight design (Slate profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) eliminates structural concerns even during heavy accumulation, and you can add snow guards if desired for safety.

Why does freeze-thaw cycling in Harrah damage other roofs but not aluminum?

Freeze-thaw cycles—about 101 per year in Harrah—force water into material cracks, where expansion breaks asphalt and wood from inside. Aluminum cannot absorb water and has no pores for ice to exploit. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209) specified by Interlock resists this cycle indefinitely because its oxide layer is inert and self-healing. The 30-year Alunar PVDF fluorocarbon coating (applied to both sides for extra protection) maintains flexibility across seasonal temperature swings without checking or peeling.

Can a metal roof rust in Harrah's wet climate?

No. Interlock uses roofing-grade aluminum alloy, which contains no iron—the element that rusts. Steel roofs corrode over years; aluminum forms a microscopic oxide layer that is non-porous and actually protects the metal beneath. If scratched during installation or weather events, this layer self-heals automatically. Harrah receives about 336 mm of rain annually and experiences gusts to 87 km/h, but the Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish (warranted 30 years) adds a second defense against moisture and oxidation, ensuring decades of protection without rust staining or structural decay.

Will my homeowner's insurance cover hail damage, or does the metal roof warranty?

Interlock's aluminum panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers offer discounts for Class 4 roofing because claim frequency drops sharply. Your homeowner's policy remains your primary coverage for hail events; the manufacturer warranty protects you if impact causes loss of protective coating or perforation. This redundancy is rare in roofing and reduces your financial exposure. For specifics on discounts, contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 certification.

Can I install a tile-look metal roof without reinforcing my house frame?

Yes. The Interlock Mediterranean Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—approximately 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so no structural upgrades are needed. Traditional tile roofing often requires roof truss reinforcement costing thousands; aluminum does not. Harrah's typical daily-max winds reach about 15 km/h with gusts to 87 km/h, and the lightweight design actually improves wind performance because it reduces overturning moment on the structure. The panels install directly over most existing roofs, cutting labor and disposal costs while delivering the visual appeal of tile without engineering expenses.

Will an Interlock metal roof reduce my cooling costs in summer?

energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect heat rather than absorb it, with reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84. Harrah averages about 3,478 sunshine hours per year, so reflectivity pays measurable dividends in summer months. Asphalt shingles absorb solar energy and transfer heat into your attic; aluminum reflects it away. Cool Roof Rating Council certification verifies this performance. The energy savings grow over time and are particularly noticeable in homes with attic HVAC systems or vented attics where cooler conditions reduce air-conditioner runtime.

What's the real difference between Interlock's lifetime warranty and a standard 20-year shingle warranty?

The Guardian Warranty is a non-prorated, lifetime limited material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance with no dollar deduction over time. Standard asphalt warranties are prorated, meaning you pay most repair costs after year 10. Interlock's warranty also transfers once (50 years from installation for the next owner), adding real resale value in Harrah's competitive market. Over a 50-year span, eliminating replacement costs and repair deductibles represents tens of thousands in savings compared to two asphalt roof cycles.

Is Interlock aluminum roofing fire-safe for Harrah homes?

Aluminum is non-combustible and Interlock offers Class A fire classification—the highest rating available. The panels meet ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (2025 reissue) for code compliance under the International Building Code and IRC. Non-combustibility means the roof itself cannot ignite or contribute fuel to a wildfire, a critical property for risk-conscious homeowners and insurers. Many insurers recognize non-combustible roofing with premium discounts. Harrah's relatively dry summers (about 3,478 annual sunshine hours) make fire resilience a smart long-term investment in home safety and insurance affordability.

How much maintenance does a metal roof really need?

Metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance beyond clearing debris once yearly. Unlike asphalt, which deteriorates and sheds granules, or wood shakes, which crack and invite rot, Interlock's aluminum panels need no sealing, staining, or replacement of individual pieces. The Alunar 70% PVDF finish (30-year warranty) resists chalking and fading, so color stays true through Harrah's roughly 101 freeze-thaw cycles and about 336 mm of annual rainfall. Gutters should be cleaned seasonally, but the roof itself is virtually maintenance-free, saving hundreds in service calls and extending your investment with zero effort.

How long does installation take, and can you install over my existing roof?

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. has served the region since 1997 and can install directly over most existing roofing—eliminating tear-off labor and landfill disposal costs. Installation timelines depend on roof size and pitch, but the lightweight aluminum panels (Slate at 0.41 lb/sq ft, Shake at 0.58, Tile at 0.59) install faster than traditional materials because crews don't handle heavy loads or manage falling debris. The four-way interlocking system locks panels together, reducing fastener count and installation hours. Harrah weather—about 15 km/h typical winds with gusts to 87 km/h—is manageable for experienced crews, and the regional installer knows local conditions and permitting inside out.
