This is probably the most professional experience I have had in years. I was blown away. From the time I contacted them, they were on time and did exactly what they said they would do the whole way through. Someone is doing an excellent job of directing this company. I need to contact Paul or Ross because I have more roofs to put on. I would give them a rating of 475! My roof cost twice as much as any other bid, but I am ten times happier than I would have been with any other roof. People who see this roof compliment me on it. It will be spectacular once I finish the entire roof. The roof is stunning! There was no snow on the new roof when it stopped snowing last week; the snow simply slid off. It was incredible.

What a substantial difference the Interlock aluminum roof has made to the appearance of my hundred year old house. The haunted house look changed instantly into desirable real estate. The people who sold me the house have said they wish they had asked more for it now! My previous roofer, who I have used for many years on five different roofs with excellent results; drove by and said he knew it was a good job. He also wanted to recommend Interlock roofing to another customer who wanted something better than composition roofing. The service was great, the sheet metal engineers were industrious, exacting workers, and there have been no problems with anything. It looks so solid and neat; I cannot describe it exactly, but I will never be happy with composition roofing again. The leaves slide right off so it is always clean, and shows off the gables and fancy lines of the house so well... I love it!

Review: February 11, 2019

We are very pleased with our new roof installed by Interlock Metal Roofing. The house looks beautiful, more than I imagined. You Paul Wright, as our salesman, are appreciated for all the information about the product and the no pressure approach you do. The installers were wonderful. They were great to work with—cleaned the area around the house each night. Our house was three days from start to finish …amazing to watch. We couldn’t be happier with the service and the product.

Review: December 10, 2020

Just a few days ago my husband and I were excited to see our new Interlock aluminum roof completed in the gorgeous eye popping finish of copper penny shake topping our newly purchased log home in Bellingham WA. We are so thankful for the signage that the company uses when completing new roofs because when we were first looking at our home and considering a purchase we happened to drive by a house just down the road that had the same " title="copper" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">copper finish aluminum Interlock roof that we eventually decided on. Seeing this roof installed on another house was the impetus that we needed to call the company and begin our inquiry well before we even purchased our home. We did our homework and considered other roofing materials and companies, but Interlock stood out in our minds as our top choice. The Interlock salesmen, Ross and Paul also went out of their way to come and look at the home and the roofing and bring samples to put on the roof for us to see during our inspection period. They also met with us immediately after closing on a Sunday as we wanted to lock in on a date for installation as soon as we could. We have a very large square footage of roofing, as well as a roof line that is very prominent on the house and we wanted to do something to enhance the stately character for what is definitely a very magical house and property. We have only now owned our house for less than two months, and already have our beautiful new roof completely installed. As we closed on our house in mid-October and we live in the Pacific NW near the Canadian border, this is already a feat. The team of roofers who were sent by Interlock to do our installation were some of the hardest working, most focused, and skilled labor crew we have had the pleasure of coming across. They completed the job in 2.5 weeks, working weekdays and Saturdays, arriving at 7:30 AM and working until 6 PM into the darkness with headlamps on. They worked in rain, cold, and very windy conditions, removing 90,000 lbs. of clay " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">tile roofing and replacing it with the Interlock 100 year warrantied high quality roofing. The team was extremely respectful, also replacing a skylight that we added to the job mid-way and reinforcing roofing around other skylights that appeared to be leaking. All members of the Interlock company that we have spoken with or had contact with otherwise have been friendly and personable, respectful, and quickly and effectively addressed any questions or issues that we have brought to their attention. We feel safe and secure under our beautiful and functional Interlock roof that is quiet when it rains and lets the water run off in rivulets into the eaves. We thank everyone at Interlock and hope to have a long and successful relationship with Interlock and our new roof.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Nooksack

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Nooksack, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Nooksack.

How does a metal roof handle heavy snow in Whatcom County winters?

Metal roofs shed snow effectively because the smooth, slick surface and thermal properties prevent ice dams that trap water on asphalt. Nooksack gets about 35 cm of snow most years and experiences roughly 34 freeze-thaw cycles annually—exactly the conditions where ice dams cause leaks and gutters fail. Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels warrant wind resistance up to 120 mph, meaning snow loads and the shifting weight from freeze-thaw cycles won't compromise the seal. You can add snow guards if you prefer to manage runoff on walkways; the lightweight design (the Shake profile is just 0.58 lb/sq ft) means no structural upgrades are needed.

Will a metal roof leak in Nooksack's wet climate?

Nooksack receives about 1196 mm of rain annually, and Interlock's interlocking panel design sheds water before it ever reaches the fasteners or seams. The four-way lock creates a labyrinth that diverts water downward and outward; combined with proper deck and underlayment installation, it functions like asphalt roofing in terms of water management—you're not trading reliability for style. The interlocking geometry means water pressure can't force its way up and under, even during the wind-driven rain that comes with gusts reaching 117 km/h. Installed to spec per ESR-1790, the roof is warranted against leaks caused by manufacturing or material failure.

Why doesn't aluminum rust the way steel roofing does?

Aluminum contains no iron, so rust—which is iron oxide—is chemically impossible. Instead, aluminum develops a microscopic oxide layer that actually protects the metal underneath; when scratched, this layer self-heals in air. Steel roofing relies on paint coatings to block rust; once that paint fails, the rust clock starts. Interlock panels use roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish applied to both sides, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. In Nooksack's wet environment with 1196 mm rain per year, this dual-coat approach and inherent corrosion immunity outperform steel by decades.

Can a metal roof stay secure in Nooksack's wind gusts?

Yes—Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h), and Nooksack's typical gusts reach about 117 km/h. That means your roof has a comfortable safety margin above worst-case local wind events. The interlocking geometry transfers wind load across the entire panel network rather than stressing individual fasteners; fasteners are hidden under the next panel's overlap. With roughly 3005 sunshine hours and 20 km/h typical daily winds in this region, the panels are engineered for Pacific Northwest weather patterns specifically. Installation to spec per ESR-1790 is the key—that's what activates the wind warranty.

How does Interlock metal roofing handle hail, and will my insurance know?

Interlock Shake, Slate, and Tile profiles carry UL 2218 Class 4 impact ratings—the highest available—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 means the roof can withstand repeated impacts equivalent to 2-inch steel balls dropped from 20 feet. Many homeowners in hail-prone regions see insurance premium reductions after upgrading to Class 4 metal; talk to your agent with the UL 2218 rating in hand. Nooksack's climate doesn't feature severe hail, but the durability is there if a freak storm hits. More importantly, this impact resistance means the roof doesn't degrade from decades of wind-driven rain and hail-adjacent weather.

Do I need to reinforce my home's frame for a metal roof?

No reinforcement needed. The Interlock Tile profile weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—so it installs over most existing roofs without structural upgrades. For comparison, standard asphalt shingles run about 2.5–3 lb/sq ft; metal is lighter. Even the heavier Shake profile at 0.58 lb/sq ft is trivial for standard framing. This matters in Nooksack because you can often recover your existing roof instead of tearing it off, saving money and keeping waste out of the landfill. The lightweight design also reduces strain during the 34 annual freeze-thaw cycles where repeated expansion and contraction stress heavier materials.

What maintenance does an Interlock metal roof actually require?

Interlock aluminum roofs require no specialized maintenance—no resealing, no regular treatment, no replacement of failing components like wood shake or slate. Inspect gutters and downspouts once yearly (like any roof), and remove heavy debris after storms. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, meaning the coating performs through roughly nine of Nooksack's typical years of weathering. Asphalt roofing, by contrast, requires algae treatment, granule inspection, and eventual replacement around year 20–25. With about 1196 mm rain annually and 35 cm of snow, asphalt's maintenance window is tighter in wet climates. Metal's self-healing oxide layer and inert aluminum mean minimal caretaking.

What's the real lifespan and warranty of an Interlock metal roof?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's also one-time transferable, giving the next owner 50 years from project completion. No prorating means the same protection at year 40 as year one. Interlock has been manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC, and installed from coastal salt-air homes to Antarctic research stations; real-world data supports durability across extreme climates. In Nooksack's cool, wet environment with about 3005 sunshine hours and 34 freeze-thaw days per year, this warranty reflects confidence in material performance. This is your last roof—not the first in a cycle of replacements.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt shingles?

Asphalt costs less upfront but lasts 20–25 years; metal lasts a lifetime. Over 50 years, one lifetime metal roof replaces two or three asphalt roofs, which means multiple tear-off and disposal cycles—each costly and wasteful. Interlock metal is roughly 95% recyclable when it finally does reach end-of-life, so you're not perpetuating landfill cycles. Current pricing includes no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation, which bridges the upfront gap. Nooksack's 1196 mm annual rainfall accelerates asphalt degradation; the energy-efficient colors (0.84 emissivity) also reduce cooling costs during the roughly 3005 annual sunshine hours. Over the roof's life, this is cost-competitive—and you're buying once, not three times.

Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Nooksack?

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. serves Nooksack and the region as the local installer, with roots dating back to 1997. They understand Whatcom County weather—the 1196 mm rain, 35 cm snow, 117 km/h gusts, and 34 annual freeze-thaw cycles—and have installed thousands of roofs from coastal salt-air communities to inland valleys. Installation to specification activates the ICC-ES ESR-1790 code compliance and wind warranty, and local installers know how to handle Nooksack's wet winters and structural conditions. They're familiar with permit requirements, can advise on whether your existing roof can be recovered, and provide follow-up service. Reach out directly for a no-obligation site evaluation.
