Review: April 6, 2023Completion: March 30, 2023

Overall I didn’t have the greatest experience but that was primarily from the contracted installation crew and their lack of follow through with doing the roof right the first time. Otherwise I’m happy with the way the roof looks and the quality. And despite having to have part of it redone I appreciated the interlock rep going up in my attic and making the crew redo it correctly so I had a quality job. His honesty about the situation went a long way. I would have liked to choose when they were coming. When you’re paying upwards of 50k for a roof I would think you could have some say.

Review: November 12, 2023Completion: July 10, 2023

I tried for several years to find a roof i would be happy with that would enhance the beauty of my property. When Interlock Roofing came along it was such a relief! I have never driven down a road and exclaimed that is a beautiful roof. Now people tell me I have a beautiful roof! It really is!

Review: January 11, 2023Completion: December 14, 2022

This is probably the most professional experience I have had in years. I was blown away. From the time I contacted them, they were on time and did exactly what they said they would do the whole way through. Someone is doing an excellent job of directing this company. I need to contact Paul or Ross because I have more roofs to put on. I would give them a rating of 475! My roof cost twice as much as any other bid, but I am ten times happier than I would have been with any other roof.

Review: September 17, 2020Completion: June 23, 2020

Correcting the one error quickly. i would like to suggest they look into a better way to do the nailing. The nails are popping through under our roof and it doesn't look very nice. Otherwise we love our roof.

Paul is a great guy. The biggest disappointment is that we couldn't go with Paul.

Review: July 10, 2025Completion: June 24, 2025

Over all a good experience, but it's hard to recommend something after such a short time and people's needs are different. See above comments I think it's hard to evaluate a new roof with a lifetime warranty after a very short time and very little rain, but so far we're very happy.

Review: September 30, 2021Completion: August 25, 2021

They can improve with a better communication between the installation crew and the client. If there was an Interlock member with the crew as a translator, that could have helped. The installation crew need more tarps and a magnet to pick up the remaining debris of nails. There was asphalt dust all over the yard. I believe it will be a good roof.

Review: March 3, 2019Completion: January 21, 2019

Communication, follow up, status checks, etc. I received a confirmation of final payment about a month later and still have not received warranty documents...We also could have benefitted from better information and consultation/education on snow guards.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Deming

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Deming, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Deming.

How does a metal roof handle Deming's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?

Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels shed snow and ice efficiently because the smooth, slippery surface prevents accumulation that would otherwise stress your framing. Deming receives about 90 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 50 freeze-thaw days per year—conditions that crack asphalt shingles and split wood shakes. Aluminum expands and contracts minimally with temperature swings, and the interlocking design transfers any movement evenly across panels rather than concentrating stress at fasteners. Snow guards are available if you need to control avalanching on steep pitches.

Does a metal roof leak in Deming's heavy rainfall?

No—when installed to specification with a solid deck and underlayment, a metal roof is watertight despite Deming's 1489 mm of annual rain. The four-way interlocking panels overlap so water flows outward and downward by gravity; there's nowhere for it to pool. The sealed seams and lap joints are engineered to ICC-ES standard ESR-1790 (IBC/IRC, reissued 2025) and tested far beyond Pacific Northwest rainfall rates. Proper gutter sizing and slope installation—standard practice from our local installer—ensure water exits your home faster than it arrives.

Will a metal roof blow off in Whatcom County wind gusts?

No. Interlock panels are warranted to withstand wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, and Deming's typical gusts reach 133 km/h (about 83 mph)—well within that rating. The four-way interlocking mechanism locks panels on all sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than relying on fasteners alone. This design has proven itself in coastal installations where salt-air corrosion and wind stress are constant. Your roof won't fail in Deming's conditions; the warranty backs that promise.

Can a metal roof rust in the Pacific Northwest climate?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes to create rust. Interlock uses roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy (ASTM B209), coated on both sides with Alunar® 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish. Even if scratched, aluminum's oxide layer self-heals. The coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading, providing extra insurance in salt air from nearby coastal influence. Over Deming's 50+ freeze-thaw days annually, this corrosion immunity saves you from the hidden rot that eventually ruins asphalt shingles and steel roofs.

Is a metal roof too heavy for my house?

The opposite—Interlock metal roofing is extraordinarily light. The Slate profile installs at about 0.41 lb per square foot, and the Mediterranean Tile (which replicates heavy clay tile) weighs roughly 0.59 lb/sq ft—approximately 96% lighter than actual concrete or clay tile. This means most homes require no structural reinforcement and Interlock can install directly over your existing roof. Deming homeowners often ask about this because older homes have modest framing, but aluminum's low weight is one of its greatest practical advantages, allowing you to upgrade your roof's appearance without expensive foundation or beam work.

How much maintenance does a metal roof require?

Interlock metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance beyond standard gutter cleaning. Unlike asphalt shingles, it won't curl, crack, or lose granules; unlike wood shakes, it won't split or rot; unlike tile, it won't break. The Alunar® coating resists fading and chalking for 30 years (ASTM D4214 / D2244 tested). In Deming's wet climate with 1489 mm of annual rainfall, you'll never need to apply sealant, repair leaks due to material breakdown, or schedule roof inspections for wear. Occasional debris clearing keeps gutters flowing—that's it. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance versus traditional materials.

What protection does a metal roof offer against hail?

Interlock holds a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available in the United States—and the Guardian Warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This real-world protection often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because metal roofs significantly reduce damage claims. Deming's climate includes occasional severe weather; aluminum's hardness and the panel design absorb hail impact without permanent denting on most strikes. File your UL 2218 Class 4 documentation with your insurance agent to explore premium reductions and demonstrate that your roof won't require costly claims during storms.

What's the warranty on an Interlock metal roof, and how long will it last?

Interlock's Guardian Warranty is lifetime limited and non-prorated for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's one-time transferable, protecting the next owner for 50 years from completion. No other roofing material matches this promise. While aluminum's natural durability means a properly installed roof lasts 40–60+ years, the warranty removes financial risk entirely. Over 25 years in Deming's freeze-thaw environment (about 50 cycles annually), you'll see why aluminum outlasts asphalt and wood shakes; the warranty ensures you're covered if anything unexpected occurs.

Is a metal roof more expensive than asphalt shingles over its lifetime?

No. While Interlock's upfront cost is higher than asphalt, the total cost of ownership over 40–50 years strongly favors metal. Asphalt requires replacement every 15–25 years, meaning Deming homeowners typically buy 2–3 asphalt roofs in the time one Interlock roof lasts. Add labor, waste disposal, disruption, and inevitable re-roofing during resale, and asphalt becomes the expensive choice. Interlock's non-prorated lifetime warranty eliminates uncertainty. Our local installer offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation, making your first-cost barrier lower. This is genuinely the last roof you'll buy.

Is a metal roof fire-resistant?

Yes. Interlock aluminum is non-combustible, and Class A fire ratings are available, the highest fire classification in building codes. This matters in Deming because homes near forested areas face wildfire risk, and fire-rated roofing can reduce insurance premiums and protect your home during regional fire events. ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms Interlock meets IBC and IRC fire standards. Aluminum cannot ignite, won't spread flame, and won't produce toxic smoke—qualities that asphalt shingles lack. If wildfire exposure is a concern for your property, Class A fire certification is a measurable safety advantage that insurance companies recognize.

Is a metal roof a good choice for Deming’s climate?

Yes. Deming averages about 90 cm of snow, 1489 mm of rain, roughly 50 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 133 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
