Prior to the snowstorm this past Sunday/Monday, we were recommending the product to everyone. Not to belabor the point, but the ice build-up after the storm was disconcerting to us. Until we are convinced that this is not an issue, we are going to have to temper our enthusiasm for the product. We were pleased with the overall process. The installation went well. The product looks great. We are a little concerned about the ice build up we noticed this week. We have never experienced this before, so we are concerned. One of the major selling points for us was that the snow would slide off the roof thereby eliminating concerns about ice dams, snow build up etc. It is something we will need to keep an eye on.
They could have improved on lending more help with measurements of our skylights.
I recommend that they reassess their pricing to be competitive. Their sales pitch as to why they're so expensive doesn't really equal out.
I was complimented by a neighbor who is looking to have his roof done and I told him DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Have a person in charge, make sure someone speaks English. Don't lie. This was the most poorly executed project and overall I'm still disappointing. I regret it so much and feel so stuck. I'll see how this winter goes and bring in my own expert and see if there is a possible legal course of action to pursue my complaints. I was the primary contact for the entire project, but when we submitted the paperwork and the staff was asked to call, the women I spoke with throughout the entire project called my husband. What a joke.
It was a superior product, but far too expensive.
Once the order was taken the Salesman seemed to disappear, even after I spoke with him about an issue I was havingWe never heard back from him. I felt the crew rushed the job and did express my concern, I was told , that was the way the jobs flow. However a week or so went by and a crew returned to re install the smart vent. They spent another 4 hours at the house. Please don't get me wrong, I am glad they came back, and now it looks right. however taking their time and getting it right the first time would have been better, right ? There was an issue with a vent pipe being loose, the installation crew informed us. I went up and tried to fix, a friend went up in the attic to fix, then after a few calls to the office, I had to have a plumber come out and go up in the attic to try. The only way to fix the problem was to reopen the roof or cut the ceiling from the inside. After all the time and worry and approx 30 days. The office tells me the 1st crew had fixed the problem and even took pictures but didn't tell anyone they had done so. Even with the issues we had, We are pleased with the roof and it looks great. We'll just have to wait and see how it holds up under the next New England winter.
The only thing we can think of is that perhaps a quick walk around prior to the start of the job would have been helpful but, the crew was working to beat the New England weather also, which was done with flying colors! It appears to be a good investment from the start
