| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |

What our customers are saying:
They did a great job on the roof, and it looks great. There was a little confusing with setting up the payments, but Rene was nice with helping me figure everything out. The system doesn't seem to have what you owe listed on there. We had to look at the invoice to determine things. I think the system could be a little clearer as to what you owe at what time. The little nails are not a huge problem. I used to do roofing when I was younger, and I understand how it works. Everyone was really nice and polite. When they did the installation, they knocked it out quickly before any rain. We did push it to the rainy season, so that was good to have it done quickly. They were really patient and responsive. If I had a question, I got an answer back quickly. I never felt like I was in the dark. This company is very customer orientated.
Interlock Roofing is amazing. From the first day I met their salesman to the day they started work on our barn and house. They were very easy to talk to and express our concern about how important it was to keep our hay safe from rain and the ground around the barn safe for the animals. They were fast exceptionally clean and so much fun to get to know. I definitely would recommend this company to anyone who wants to have a roof that will last a life time. Thank you for an amazing job and two beautiful roofs!
They all did a great job. Really liked the install crew. Was a pleasure...not sure where anyone could improve.
Timeliness, management communication with the customer. Not at this time. Dissappointed in time it took to complete project.
I had originally planned to use the product on a new building but needed an older house reroofed. Newer building has been put on hold for now.
Professional and timely, installation was ahead schedule. A post (1-2 months) inspection done by non installers.
COMMUNICATION!!Don't make appointments and then not show up, don't miss appointments and make customers call for days to find out why and when the new appointment will be just to not show up again. ANSWER the PHONE when people call, having customers sit without information is infuriating and just makes them unhappy from the start. So...Communication and customer service improvement would be great. We were very upset with the wasting of our vacation time, had we known you would cancel 3 appointments to install just to not show up until after the leave from work was over, we would have gone and done things on our vacation. Instead it was just us sitting around the house very angry wondering if they were going to show up at all or even call....you wasted our time, and my husbands vacation time.
This company is a scam!and is now trying to put a lien on my house.i have been lied to by Glenn gloss and he tried to get me to sign a mortified contract for cheaper material when that didn't work he stalled,I am disabled and was under a heavy medication when I signed a contract with Glenn boss...
Needed to put this project on hold, due to other issues that have arisen. You will be the first people we call when we are ready to roof our home.
We had an excellent experience the first time with Interlock so used them again when we moved to our new home. I can’t sing praises any higher. Mike Rasmussen sold us the first time and we were lucky to have him this time as well. May and Patrick are wonderful to work with. Gregory, our installler, worked hard to get the job done single handedly when his partner had a family emergency and couldn’t continue. Our roof is gorgeous and the neighbors are slowing to look. I would recommend Interlock any time and every time! My pics don’t do it justice.
We are in the middle of a lawsuit because they destroyed our ceiling by not covering the unfinished roof when it rained. They could have improved by covering the unfinished roof when it rained. I am still waiting on my lawyer to see if they are going to honor the warranty. As I have said, now my roof is falling apart.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Evergreen Terrace
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Evergreen Terrace, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Evergreen Terrace.
Does metal roofing handle heavy snow and ice in Evergreen Terrace?
Metal roofing handles snow exceptionally well because aluminum's smooth, interlocking profile sheds snow naturally and resists ice dam formation—critical in a region that receives about 51 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 24 freeze-thaw cycles each year. Unlike asphalt, which absorbs heat and causes thaw-refreeze cycles, aluminum's reflective energy-efficient coatings maintain consistent surface temperatures, reducing ice buildup. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels warrant 120 mph wind resistance, protecting against the region's typical gusts reaching 103 km/h that often accompany winter storms.
With 1500 mm of annual rainfall, will an Interlock metal roof leak?
Evergreen Terrace receives about 1500 mm of rain yearly, yet metal roofing excels in wet climates because the four-way interlocking panel design creates multiple overlaps that shed water immediately—water cannot pool or find entry points. Unlike asphalt shingles, which degrade under constant moisture exposure, aluminum's oxide layer is hydrophobic and self-healing. Installation over a solid deck with underlayment—which Interlock installers use—meets ICC-ES ESR-1790 code requirements and delivers leak protection equal to traditional roofing systems, with no seasonal vulnerability.
Why won't an aluminum roof rust in Evergreen Terrace's wet climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, it forms an oxide layer that self-heals when scratched—a natural defense against Cowlitz County's wet, moisture-heavy climate. To further protect against salt air and persistent humidity (averaging 11.6°C year-round with high precipitation), Interlock applies Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating to both panel sides, warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Steel roofing, by contrast, requires ongoing maintenance to prevent rust. Aluminum's corrosion resistance means no annual inspections or touch-ups in this rainy region.
Can my home's structure support a metal roof, or do I need reinforcement?
Aluminum weighs so little that most homes need zero structural reinforcement. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile, which replicates traditional clay or concrete tile, installs at just 0.59 lb per square foot—roughly 96% lighter than the real thing. This matters in Evergreen Terrace because installers can often place the new metal roof directly over your existing shingles (if structurally sound), avoiding costly tear-off labor and landfill disposal. Even the heavier Shake profile at 0.58 lb/sq ft remains negligible compared to slate or tile, making retrofit installation straightforward and economical.
What's the lifetime warranty on Interlock metal roofing, and does it transfer to the next owner?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, cracking, curling, impact loss, and hail perforation—then becomes one-time transferable, extending 50 years from roof completion to the next owner. This two-tier protection is unique because it acknowledges aluminum's durability: Interlock has manufactured these panels since 1998, and they've performed reliably from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station. For Evergreen Terrace homeowners, it means 50+ years of protection for resale appeal and peace of mind in a climate with 24 annual freeze-thaw days that stress lesser materials.
Is a metal roof more expensive than asphalt over its lifetime?
Upfront, metal costs more than asphalt, but it's the last roof you'll buy. Asphalt typically lasts 15–20 years in Evergreen Terrace's 1500 mm rainfall and freeze-thaw environment, requiring tear-off, disposal, and reinstallation every cycle—three or more replacements in a 50-year timeframe. Metal roofing installed today will be there for your children's sale. Factor material longevity, zero maintenance versus asphalt's periodic repairs, and resale value (metal adds curb appeal and perceived durability), and total cost of ownership strongly favors metal. Current financing offers zero payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation, making entry cost more manageable.
Does Interlock roofing qualify for hail-damage insurance breaks?
Yes. Interlock metal roofing holds the highest hail impact rating available—UL 2218 Class 4—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurance companies recognize this non-combustible, impact-resistant aluminum as lower-risk, potentially reducing your premiums. While Evergreen Terrace's 10-year climate data doesn't highlight severe hail, the Class 4 rating (tested far beyond regional norms) provides insurance underwriters confidence in durability. Contact your insurer about discounts; many offer 5–15% reductions for Class 4 metal roofing, offsetting installation cost within a few years.
Can Interlock metal roofing look like cedar shake, slate, or traditional tile?
Interlock offers five distinct profiles—Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile—each shaped and textured to match traditional materials. The aluminum construction is genuine roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 alloy with Alunar fluorocarbon finish, available in numerous colors that replicate aged copper, weathered slate, or natural wood tones. All profiles interlock four ways for structural integrity and weather shedding. Homeowners in Evergreen Terrace can achieve the aesthetic they want—rustic shake, refined slate, or Mediterranean charm—without the maintenance burdens of actual wood or tile in a region with 51 cm annual snowfall and 1500 mm rainfall.
How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood?
Metal requires virtually none. Unlike asphalt (which cracks under Evergreen Terrace's 24 annual freeze-thaw cycles), wood shake (prone to rot in 1500 mm of rain), or tile (which settles and cracks under snow and ice stress), aluminum roofing is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance—meaning no moss cleaning, no sealant reapplication, no seasonal inspections. The Alunar 70% PVDF coating self-cleans in heavy rain and holds color for 30 years (warranted against fading). Snow and leaves shed naturally on the smooth, interlocking profile. Beyond the occasional gutter cleaning, your roof needs nothing, freeing you from the costly upkeep that traditional materials demand in this wet, freeze-thaw climate.
Is metal roofing better for the environment than asphalt shingles?
Aluminum roofing breaks the asphalt tear-off-to-landfill cycle. Asphalt shingles are disposed of millions of tons annually and take decades to decompose; each 15–20 year replacement cycle adds waste. Interlock's aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable—if ever removed, it returns to the aluminum supply chain rather than a landfill. Over 50 years in Evergreen Terrace's climate, you'll have installed asphalt three times (three tear-offs) versus zero with metal. Additionally, energy-efficient colors with 0.84 thermal emissivity and up to 0.55 solar reflectance reduce cooling demand and peak heat island effects. Choosing metal is choosing durability over disposal.
Is a metal roof a good choice for Evergreen Terrace’s climate?
Yes. Evergreen Terrace averages about 51 cm of snow, 1500 mm of rain, roughly 24 freeze–thaw days a year, with peak wind gusts near 103 km/h. Interlock® aluminum roofing is wind-rated to 193+ km/h (120 mph), UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated and Class A fire-rated, and its four-way interlocking panels shed snow and resist ice dams and freeze–thaw cracking — all backed by a lifetime limited, transferable warranty.
