To whom it may concern I would like to commend you on your roofing products, and your choice employees. I recently had my roof replaced by your firm, I have received multiple compliments as to how nice it looks and enhances the appearance of my home. All your employees have been top notch, honest and genuinely helpful. Ross, your salesman, was great. He did not pressure us, we felt that he had our best interest at heart. He pointed out the options and showed us ways that we could reduce the financial impact. The two installers were Ukrainian. I did not get their names, but they were respectful and very business-like. They took their job very seriously and worked sunup to sundown (10 + hours) for the three days they were here. l did not see them take a break during that time. Lastly, Renee in the office was charged with the task of reminding me of the payment schedule, she did so with a great attitude and friendliness. Our experience was very positive. I would recommend your business to anyone looking for a new roof. Our job was accomplished with minimal interruption to our life. Our home was left pretty much as it was found except, we have a new roof. I do not anticipate any problems for the next 50+ years. [modula id="138011"]

Review: February 19, 2020

It's been about 6 weeks since our new roof was completed, and we are thrilled with the result. The whole process from start to finish was seamless and very efficient. As a salesperson myself, I was impressed with the 'no pressure' approach to selling us the roof and the information that was provided to us to make an informed decision on the type of roof for our home. We chose the black slate and it looks very smart and has transformed the look of our home considerably. Since the roof was installed, we have had the usual mixed bag of Washington weather - heavy rain, hail, strong winds, and frost. Our roof has been put to the test and passed with flying colors. Frank observed the installation process and was impressed with the seamless flashing, custom-made on site, and state of the art vent coverings. Our roof looks beautiful and stands out from the others in our neighborhood. We were particularly impressed with the workmanship of Victor and Mark Lomakin, the two men who installed the roof. They were punctual, fast, courteous, respectful, efficient and very professional. Our neighbors also commented on how well they worked. When the roof was complete, they cleared away all debris and even removed the unwanted satellite dish from our roof. It couldn't have gone better. We received all the financial documentation in a timely manner and all of the employees we have dealt with have been very knowledgeable and helpful. Our only criticism is that it would be nice to have an online payment facility for overpayments. Currently the only way to do that is to mail a payment to Canada but we don't have checks so we would have to purchase money orders and mail them as we intend to make over-payments along the way. We would happily recommend Interlock to anyone looking for a new roof. Kind regards Jennifer and Frank Herboldsheimer Ocean Shores, WA

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Ocosta

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Ocosta, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Ocosta.

How does a metal roof handle snow and ice in Ocosta winters?

Metal roofs shed snow and ice more effectively than asphalt because the smooth, hard surface and thermal properties prevent ice dams from forming. Ocosta receives about 60 cm of snow annually and experiences roughly 38 freeze-thaw cycles per year—conditions that crack asphalt shingles but leave aluminum unaffected. The Interlock panels are warranted to 120 mph winds, so heavy snow load and wind-driven sleet won't compromise the four-way interlocking system. You can add snow guards if you prefer to manage runoff; the light weight of the panels means no structural reinforcement is needed.

Will a metal roof leak during Ocosta's heavy rainfall?

No—Ocosta averages 2305 mm of rain annually, and metal roofing sheds water faster than any other material because water runs off rather than absorbing into the panel. The four-way interlocking system means water cannot penetrate between panels; each joint is mechanical and weather-sealed. When installed over solid decking with underlayment (as our crews do), the roof performs identically to asphalt in heavy rain. The ICC-ES ESR-1790 evaluation confirms code compliance for all IBC/IRC rainfall scenarios, and you're covered under the lifetime limited warranty against any leak from material or workmanship.

Why does aluminum resist rust better than steel roofing near the coast?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and corrodes. Instead, aluminum develops a thin, invisible oxide layer that self-heals when scratched, protecting the metal underneath indefinitely. Ocosta's marine air and the 106 km/h wind gusts you experience accelerate corrosion in steel roofs, which is why steel requires frequent maintenance. Your Interlock panels are coated with Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish on both sides—extra insurance in coastal salt-air exposure—and that coating is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. Choose aluminum, and rust is simply not a future problem.

Can a metal roof withstand Ocosta's wind gusts and storms?

Yes. Your area experiences typical daily winds around 15 km/h with gusts reaching 106 km/h, and Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to spec. The four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its neighbors on all sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof rather than stressing individual fasteners. The UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating means the panels also resist wind-driven debris. After 27 years of installations from coastal homes to Antarctic research stations, we've never had a wind failure. The engineering is proven.

Do I need to reinforce my roof structure for a metal roof?

No structural reinforcement is needed, because Interlock panels are extraordinarily light. The Slate profile installs at 0.41 lb/sq ft, and even the heaviest profile—Mediterranean Tile—weighs only 0.59 lb/sq ft, making it about 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile. Most homes can handle the weight of a metal roof over an existing roof without modification. Ocosta's 38 annual freeze-thaw cycles and 106 km/h wind gusts put stress on roofing materials, but aluminum's light weight and strength mean your home's framing handles those stresses more easily than it would with heavier alternatives. This also saves thousands in structural work upfront.

What's the warranty on Interlock metal roofing, and how long does it really last?

The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner, covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's also one-time transferable—the next owner gets 50 years of coverage from the completion date. No other roofing material offers this. Aluminum's non-corrosive nature means the structural integrity doesn't degrade over time, even in Ocosta's 2305 mm annual rainfall and salt-air conditions. The Alunar coating is warranted 30 years separately. Most homeowners install a metal roof once and never replace it; you're buying your last roof.

Does hail damage a metal roof, and can I get an insurance discount?

Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This rating typically qualifies you for insurance discounts on your homeowners policy because the roof resists damage that would destroy asphalt shingles. The four-way interlocking system distributes impact force, and aluminum's strength prevents deformation. Many insurers recognize the durability and reduce premiums by 10–20 percent. Contact your agent with the UL 2218 Class 4 certification; you may recover part of the installation cost through lower premiums over time.

How much maintenance does a metal roof require compared to asphalt or wood?

Metal requires virtually no maintenance—no replacement of split shingles, no re-sealing, no moss treatment, no annual inspections like wood shake demands. Ocosta's 2305 mm rain and 2789 sunshine hours per year would accelerate algae and moss growth on asphalt and wood; they'd require regular cleaning and treatment. Aluminum doesn't degrade, so debris simply washes off during the 2305 mm of annual rainfall. Occasional gutter cleaning is the only regular task. The roof is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, meaning you spend your time and money elsewhere. This is one of the biggest financial advantages over a 50-year ownership period.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt over the long term?

Metal costs more upfront but is the only roof that lasts your lifetime and still transfers value to the next owner. Ocosta's conditions—2305 mm annual rain, 38 freeze-thaw cycles, 106 km/h gusts—shorten asphalt life to 15–20 years, meaning you'd replace it 2–3 times in 50 years. Each replacement tears off old material to the landfill, then installs new. Metal installs once, never needs replacement, and is 95% recyclable at end of life. The lifetime limited warranty means zero replacement cost. When you factor in labor, disposal, and the avoided hassle and mess of roof replacements, metal pays for itself and then generates decades of free roofing. Right now, we're running zero interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation.
