Interlock® Aluminum Roofing — all-climates performance specs for Silver Creek, Washington
| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |

What our customers are saying:
Prompt service and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
My wife and I wanted a long-term roof and I think we found it. The product seems very good and are installer Daniel was terrific and a trooper put a lot of hours and a lot of time and made it look real nice when it was completed. I would recommend the company if you're looking for a metal roof.
Ivan Excellent will make it right!!
We needed a roof repair when our neighbors tree dropped a large limb through our roof. Ivan came And accessed The damage, Ordered the sheets we needed. He came back and did the whole Repair himself. So happy to have it fixed along with his recommendations to have the roof cleaned. We appreciate his skills in repairing The roof.
The Interlock associate Ivan, came did an awesome service in correcting the part needed to be corrected, he left us with instructions of what we needed to check and to get in touch with, if needed 😀 Ms. May the associate answering the phone was helpful for us to get prompt service. They are dependable. We received roof service.
The work was efficient and well done. The service, the people and team were great. Beautiful roof.
I highly appreciate the professionalism, workmanship and the quality of materials used. I don't doubt that it will be our forever roof and will not need to worry about replacement during the life of our house. Ross, Tony, Roma were all great throughout the new roof installation process.
We noticed water spots on the ceiling. Ivan came, found a hole likely caused by a branch in the recent wind storm. He repaired the hole on the spot. Thank you Ivan!
Ivan replaced our exhaust vent on the roof that had some leaking issue. We were impressed with his professionalism, courtesy and fixing the problem to our utmost satisfaction. We certainly would recommend him and the company for any roofing issues being it a new roof or repairs.
We recently had our roof replaced with interlock aluminum shingles and we love how it made our house stand out in our neighborhood. I would have given 5 stars but there were few things that I wanted to point out. Ross arrived on time and did an excellent presentation. I specifically asked him if their installers are contractors and his answer was no, they are employees of interlock. Turns out they are contractors which is no big deal as long as they do excellent work, it’s all about honesty. Prior to installation, the installers told me that it would take about two and a half days to finish which is great, I said no rush. The installation process took two weeks, I hope everything will go well this coming rainy season. The only thing I didn’t like was at the end of the day they leave their tools in the driveway just laying around and the worst they leave their microwave plugged into the outlet with damaged power cord. But with all things said, we love our new roof and only time will tell if it was worth the price.
Excellent contact and coordination with field representatives and installers/project manager.
We recently had our roof replaced with aluminum shingles and are very satisfied so far. - Easy Sales Process – Thank you Ross for making everything clear and straightforward from the start. - Great Value – The price was very reasonable compared to other estimates. - Better Than Expected – The finished look exceeded our expectations and really improved the appearance of our home. It’s not as glossy as we feared, which we like. - Fast & Efficient – The crew worked quickly and finished everything in just 2 days for our ~1,000 sq. ft. house with two layers of old shingles. - No Issues – No noise at all, despite common concerns about metal roofs. Tip for others: Ask for the exact model and size of vents that will be installed before the project starts. Our vents were only a few months old but couldn’t be reused, and the ones the company brought were the wrong size. The crew had to buy replacements last minute, which worked but don’t perfectly match.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Silver Creek
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Silver Creek, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Silver Creek.
How does a metal roof handle the heavy snow Silver Creek gets each winter?
Metal roofs shed snow and ice far more effectively than asphalt because aluminum's smooth surface and thermal properties prevent ice dams from forming. Silver Creek receives about 250 cm of snow annually with roughly 46 freeze-thaw cycles per year—conditions that crack and curl asphalt shingles but leave aluminum unaffected. Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are designed for snow load, and optional snow guards are available if you want to control sliding. The lightweight design (Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) means no structural reinforcement is needed, even in heavy snow zones.
Will freeze-thaw cycles damage an aluminum metal roof over time?
No. Aluminum's crystal structure and lack of iron make it immune to the spalling, cracking, and rot that plague asphalt and wood in freeze-thaw climates. Silver Creek experiences about 46 freeze-thaw days annually plus 1759 mm of rain, which would severely degrade traditional roofing. Aluminum expands and contracts uniformly without structural damage. The roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 alloy (ASTM B209) is engineered for exactly this cycling. The four-way interlocking design accommodates movement while keeping water out, protecting your home through decades of winter transitions.
Can an aluminum roof rust or corrode in Silver Creek's wet climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and creates rust. Instead, aluminum naturally forms a self-healing oxide layer that protects it from the elements. Even when scratched, this layer reforms automatically. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating (applied to both sides of every panel and warranted 30 years against chalking per ASTM D4214) adds extra protection against Silver Creek's 1759 mm annual rainfall and high humidity. This two-layer defense system is why Interlock panels have been installed from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station without corrosion failures.
Will my metal roof hold up to Silver Creek's winter windstorms?
Yes. Interlock metal roofs are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Silver Creek's typical gusts reach about 108 km/h (67 mph), and the four-way interlocking design means panels are mechanically locked together—wind cannot lift or separate them. Gusts that would tear asphalt shingles away leave an Interlock roof untouched. The interlocking system distributes wind load across the entire roof rather than stressing individual fasteners, giving you confidence through storm season and beyond. Your installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., knows the local wind patterns and will ensure every installation meets spec.
Does a metal roof help with hail damage or insurance?
Interlock metal roofing carries the UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer discounts on metal roof policies. While Silver Creek's climate data doesn't indicate severe hail frequency, the Class 4 rating means you're protected if it happens. Aluminum's light weight (Shingle profile at 0.41 lb/sq ft) and non-combustible composition (Class A fire rating available) make it a lower-risk investment in your insurer's eyes. Contact your agent about potential premium reductions when you switch from asphalt.
Can a metal roof handle Silver Creek's 1759 mm annual rainfall without leaks?
Heavy rainfall won't penetrate an Interlock metal roof because the four-way interlocking panels overlap in a way that sheds water downslope before it can pool or seep. Silver Creek receives about 1759 mm of rain annually—a serious test for any roofing material. The mechanical interlock design eliminates reliance on sealants or adhesives that degrade over time. When installed over a solid deck with proper underlayment, water is diverted to gutters before it touches the substrate. This multi-layer defense has protected homes and even an Antarctic research station, proving the system's reliability in extreme wet climates.
How much maintenance does a metal roof really need compared to asphalt?
Metal roofs require virtually no maintenance—no moss treatment, no shingle replacement, no tar-sealing patches. Asphalt roofing in Silver Creek's damp, rainy climate (1759 mm annual rainfall) develops moss and algae growth that shortens its life and looks poor. Interlock aluminum is CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, meaning you don't climb a ladder twice a year or hire contractors to keep it clean. Gutters still need seasonal clearing, but the roof itself stays sound and attractive. With a 30-year coating warranty and lifetime limited material warranty for the original owner, your maintenance calendar is refreshingly simple.
Do I need to reinforce my home's structure for a metal roof?
No structural reinforcement is needed. Interlock's aluminum panels are extraordinarily light—the Mediterranean Tile profile, which visually replicates traditional tile, weighs about 0.59 lb/sq ft, roughly 96% lighter than concrete or tile. Most homes can support the upgrade without any structural work. Because aluminum weighs so little, Interlock panels install over most existing roofs, saving the labor and landfill cost of a full tear-off. Silver Creek homes with older framing or limited structural capacity benefit especially from this advantage. Your local installer, Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., will evaluate your specific roof during consultation.
Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost over the life of the roof?
Yes. Metal roofing costs more initially, but it's the last roof you'll buy. Asphalt roofing typically lasts 15–20 years in Silver Creek's climate (1759 mm rain, 253 cm snow, 46 freeze-thaw cycles per year), meaning you'll replace it 2–3 times over 50 years. Interlock comes with a lifetime limited warranty for the original owner and is transferable to the next owner for 50 years from completion—eliminating repeated tear-offs and labor costs. Current promotion: no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation. When you calculate labor, disposal, and replacement materials across decades, metal roofing is economically superior.
Can a metal roof look like traditional slate, shake, or tile on my Silver Creek home?
Absolutely. Interlock offers five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile. Each is manufactured with precise detailing so the visual depth and shadow lines match the traditional material it replicates. You get the architectural character you want with aluminum's durability. The roofing-grade aluminum (ASTM B209) and Alunar 70% PVDF coating preserve color and detail for 30 years (measured per ASTM D4214). Whether your Silver Creek home is modern, historic, or contemporary, there's a profile that suits its style while delivering protection against 1759 mm annual rainfall, 108 km/h gusts, and 46 annual freeze-thaw cycles.
