What our customers are saying:
Your home is your greatest investment, sheltering you from the storms. Don’t nickel and dime yourself when choosing a roof, you get what you pay for. We chose Interlock aluminum roofing for our house, and are totally pleased with it. Aluminum doesn’t rust period. The current rage of steel roofing is a racket preying on uninformed consumers who want something for next to nothing. Steel roofs are coated to prevent rust. However, once these coatings wear off rust sets in. I have personally seen an 18 year-old steel roof with significant rusting after the coating was gone. Do yourself a favor, get an Interlock aluminum roof. Dean Landers 5 star review June 9/2026 Janesville WI
I had Interlock put on a beautiful red slate roof 17 years ago.The roof still looks beautiful. 5 years ago, I had them also re-roof my garage with the same type of slate. The roofs look gorgeous and I have no maintenance whatsoever.I get complements all the time. The guy whom I contracted with was named "Tim' but has since died. He was a really nice guy. Back in 2009, the roof was much cheaper. ( I actually paid more for the garage 5 years ago!) I am extremely happy with the roofs. The guys did a wonderful job, replacing rotted boards where necessary. They also told me about very cheap gutters I could buy at Menards instead of those ridiculously - priced "special" gutter systems. I bought them and they placed them on my buildings. This home will go to my daughter one day; I do not want her to have to lift a finger. Note that I had an asphalt roof previously. It lasted only 12 years. The shingles curled up under the sun and cracked. They looked terrible. I can honestly say that these metals roofs by Interlock are very much worth what you pay for them. They will last a lifetime with almost no maintenance. Instead of replacing a roof every 15 years and paying lots for asphalt or fiberglass, their metal roofs last very long and you will never have to re- roof again.
Our experience with having our Interlock roof installed was exceptional. It was installed during the hottest days of the year, and none of our neighbors could believe the installers were working so hard during the hot, muggy weather. They finished several days ahead of schedule and left the yard clean and neat, even after a complete tear-off of three layers of roofing. One day during the installation, we had a rain storm, and the installers all took shelter in their vehicles. I noticed that we had a leak in a spot that had clearly had leaks before we bought the house. When I pointed it out to the installers, they went up the ladder in the pouring rain, found the cause of the problem (which, again, was a pre-existing problem, not one due to the Interlock installation) and fixed it on the spot. The service was exceptional.
We purchased our roof in 2009 and as you can see from the pictures taken in May of 2017, our roof looks as new as the day we bought it. Here are the things we have noticed most about our Interlock Lifetime Roof over the last 8 years. It keeps our house much cooler in the summer than the asphalt roof we used to have. It really sheds snow, and the snow guards work great. We never need to use a snow rake. We love the durability and the curb appeal. Greg Weber our representative, who we were enthused to learn, is still with the company. When we saw him in 2009 he laid out all the variables in a professional way and our Interlock Roof has lived up to all of our expectations and promises he made. All companies promise results, service, and quality. Interlock delivers.
The installation was super smooth. Every installer was courteous and professional. We get lots of compliments, and people stop by all the time to admire it. One of the biggest misconceptions about metal roofing is people think it’s loud. Our Interlock roof is very silent. The only way I know if it’s raining is if I look out a window. Also, the snow just slides off. We are also in a wind tunnel area, and we have never lost an Interlock shingle, and we have had the roof for many years. We were so pleased with our Interlock roof that we put the same roof on our lake home in northern Wisconsin. We get a lot more snow up there and the Interlock’s snow-shedding performance capabilities are second to none on that roof, too!
First off, the installation crew was great! They worked very hard, took short breaks, and completed the job very efficiently. Greg Weber, our sales representative, told us an Interlock Roof was more energy efficient than asphalt, and one of the major things we noticed over the years is how much cooler our home office upstairs is in the summertime and warmer it is in the wintertime. It’s a dramatic difference from our old asphalt roof. We have had a few neighbors even question why we invested more in an Interlock roof than a typical asphalt roof, and we always smile and say, “Everybody complains about spending money. Do you want to complain about it once or multiple times, and do you want to be all in to have the best, or not in, and hope for the best.” Thank you, Interlock!
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems, The installation was terrific. Jessie and his crew were very nice, polite, and clean and worked together like a well-oiled machine. If I was to have work done on my home for any type of project, this is the team I would recommend and would want to work on my house. Greg Weber, my sales representative, answered all my questions, set the proper expectations, and over delivered in every aspect. We had a major rainstorm shortly after the installation, and we noticed no difference in sound at all. Our Interlock roof is the talk of the neighborhood.
Dear Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems: We purchased our Interlock Lifetime Roof in June 2014. We are very happy with the look, durability of the material, and finish. After a snowfall, the heat of the sun will warm the roof and allow the snow to shed from the roof. We have a great sense of security, knowing it can withstand higher winds than conventional asphalt. In fact, our neighbors lost many shingles in the last major wind storm, and our Interlock roof proved to be the high wind resistance product it is with all shingles intact. We love the fact it’s more reliable and has peace of mind knowing it has lots of longevity and will look brand new not only now but down the road. We also received a discount on our homeowner’s insurance. Overall, we were very satisfied with our sales representative Greg Weber, the company, the service, and the product.
We have been do-it-yourselfer homeowners our whole lives. We are very handy and capable when it comes to home improvements and appreciate craftsmanship and quality. And that’s what Interlock Lifetime Roofing Systems provided us with our roof. Craftsmanship and quality. Plus, durability, beauty, and experience from a company that manufactures and certify install its own product. That is something, a company that makes its own product, that was very important to us, and no other company in our market offered that, except Interlock. Another thing that was important was we didn’t want to have to deal with rust because many steel metal roofs look good new but look old and hideous down the road because of fading and rusting. Interlock is aluminum. So, it won’t rust, and it achieves and exceeds the highest rating of hail resistance. So, it’s like we said earlier – super durable! Jessie and his crew were super and hard working. We were amazed by their work ethic. That’s something that’s becoming rare nowadays. Also, we were told by a competitor that Greg Weber and Interlock would be high-pressure. That was the furthest thing from the truth. Greg was polite, personable, and knowledgeable and helped us sift through the “lesser quality, cheaper installation, sales gimmicky and overly aggressive” competitors. He provided us with a detailed range of the competition by laying out all the variables so we could make an intelligent comparison and decision. Greg helped save us a lot of time from all the other companies in our market selling what everyone else is selling or just selling stuff and making promises they can’t keep. All the asphalt guys want you to believe that their products will last, and all the steel companies want you to believe their products won’t rust, and everybody knows… That’s Just Not True! Interlock has proven itself for over four decades. That’s Impressive. That’s why we went with them, Jessie and Greg.
In March 2017 we had an Interlock Lifetime Roof installed. Greg Weber, the salesman, was not pushy. We were very impressed with his salesmanship and the product. He also offered to have the Interlock product put on our wishing well in the front yard. That was something we really appreciated. The clean-up was excellent! Many neighbors and people who " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by the house have noticed the roof and asked a lot of questions. We have gotten lots of compliments!
We visited the booth Interlock had at the Remodelling Show at State Fair Park. We got a lot of excellent information there and left our number for a call-back. We did receive the call back promptly and got an appointment right away. The estimator showed up on time and thoroughly explained the process, the product choices and the costs. We signed up for a new metal roof that evening because the advantages were so many, and the expense over time was not much different from regular shingles. This metal roof will probably outlive us! The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. The actual work didn’t start for about two months because the company was very busy, but removing the old layers of shingles was the first process. This was done in a day, and the waterproofing membrane went on. The roofing materials were supposed to be delivered in a couple of days, which unfortunately didn’t happen. Instead, a heavy, rainy week intervened, and we did get water in our kitchen. It took a while to get someone to call me back and that was frustrating because it damaged our kitchen ceiling. Ultimately, though, I did get a call, and the work was expedited to the following day. The roofers did the entire installation in one day and did a great job. The roof is beautiful, and we have many people stopping and looking at the wonderful work and superior materials. I know the company will honor their promise to pay for the damage to the kitchen. Once that is done, all is well. The experience wasn’t perfect, but it was as close as mother nature and shipping glitches allowed.
The Interlock crew was able to take some extra time to coordinate with another contractor for solar installation. As a result, the final the result looks great and very functional. The materials used are very high quality, and they worked efficiently and cleaned up when finished.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Eastmorland
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Eastmorland, Wisconsin. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Eastmorland.
Will a metal roof handle Wisconsin's freeze-thaw cycles better than asphalt?
Yes. Aluminum expands and contracts uniformly with temperature swings, and the four-way interlocking panels flex without cracking or curling—issues that plague asphalt in Eastmorland's typical 81 freeze-thaw days per year. The 3105-H24 aluminum alloy maintains its integrity through repeated wet-freeze cycles; the oxide layer that forms naturally on aluminum does not degrade or trap moisture like the porous substrate under asphalt. Over 20+ winters, this matters: asphalt loses flexibility and splits; aluminum panels simply move with seasonal stress. The Guardian warranty covers cracking and curling for the original owner's lifetime.
How does Interlock handle heavy snow and ice dams in Dane County winters?
The smooth aluminum surface sheds snow far more effectively than asphalt's rough texture, reducing ice-dam formation—critical in areas averaging about 98 cm of annual snow. The four-way interlocking profile creates a seamless, continuous plane that snow slides from cleanly rather than clinging and refreezing. Snow guards can be added where needed (eaves, valleys) to manage controlled slides. Because aluminum panels weigh only 0.41 lb/sq ft for the Slate profile and 0.59 lb/sq ft for the Tile, accumulated snow load never stresses the structure the way slate or concrete tile would. The low profile and slippery finish work together to prevent the ice-dam-and-leak cycle that costs homeowners thousands in water damage.
Why doesn't aluminum rust like steel metal roofing?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron; instead, a thin, self-healing oxide layer forms on the surface and protects the metal underneath. When the coating is scratched or abraded—common in Wisconsin's variable weather with average wind gusts to 97 km/h—the oxide automatically repairs itself, stopping corrosion before it starts. Steel roofing, by contrast, rusts when the coating is breached and the iron core is exposed to moisture and oxygen. Eastmorland's 760 mm annual rainfall and recurring freeze-thaw cycles would accelerate rust on steel; aluminum thrives in exactly these conditions. The Alunar 70% PVDF finish (applied to both sides of every panel) adds a 30-year warranty against chalking and fading, but the aluminum substrate itself never fails from corrosion—even after decades.
Can a metal roof reduce hail insurance premiums for homes in Wisconsin?
Many insurers do offer premium discounts for Class 4 hail-rated roofs, and Interlock qualifies: it carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Aluminum's hardness and the four-way interlocking structure distribute impact force across a larger area, preventing the denting and cracking that compromise asphalt or wood shingles. Contact your insurer about discounts; some carriers recognize the durability advantage and adjust your rate accordingly. Over a 30-year roof life, a modest annual savings on premiums can total thousands. In Wisconsin's variable spring weather, this protection—plus the transferable 50-year warranty term—translates to genuine financial security.
Does Interlock hold up to Wisconsin wind gusts and storms?
Yes. Eastmorland experiences typical daily wind speeds around 22 km/h with gusts averaging 97 km/h—conditions Interlock's four-way interlocking panels are warranted to handle up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. Each panel locks to its neighbors on all four sides, creating a unified system that resists uplift and lateral forces far better than nailed shingles. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 (reissued 2025 for current building code) confirms this installation method and load rating. Over decades of Wisconsin springs and autumn storms, this structural redundancy prevents the panel separation and wind damage that leaves asphalt roofs vulnerable and leads to interior leaks and costly repairs.
Do I need to reinforce my home's structure to support Interlock metal roofing?
No structural reinforcement is needed. The Slate profile installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft and the Mediterranean Tile at 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than genuine concrete or clay tile. Most homes can support a metal roof retrofit directly over the existing asphalt shingles without adding beams, trusses, or foundation work. This weight advantage is crucial in Eastmorland, where heavy snowfall (about 98 cm annually) already loads the roof structure during winter. Asphalt added to existing shingles compounds that load; aluminum distributes the same snow weight across an exponentially stronger support system. The ESR-1790 evaluation accounts for regional climate loads, and the material's featherweight character means installation is faster, safer, and far less expensive than slate, tile, or structural upgrades.
What does the Guardian warranty actually cover and how long does it last?
The Guardian is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance for as long as you own the home. It is transferable once, granting the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion date. No other roofing material matches this: asphalt comes with 20-30 year warranties, most prorated; wood shingles degrade and split within 15-20 years; concrete tile cracks under freeze-thaw stress. In Eastmorland's climate of 81 annual freeze-thaw days and about 98 cm of snow, material longevity directly determines maintenance cost and home value. This warranty is not a marketing term—it reflects 27 years of field performance (manufactured since 1998 in Delta, BC) across environments from coastal salt air to an Antarctic research station.
Will an Interlock metal roof lower my cooling and heating costs?
energy-efficient colors can reduce cooling costs by reflecting solar heat that asphalt absorbs. The Aged Copper Penny profile achieves initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84—rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council. In Eastmorland's about 3,073 sunshine hours per year, this reflectance adds up: less heat absorbed means lower air-conditioning loads during warm months. The metal's thermal conductivity is higher than asphalt, so it does not trap heat the way dark shingles do. While winter heating benefit is modest (metal conducts cold slightly more readily), the summer savings, combined with the roof's 50+ year lifespan, can offset installation cost through lower utility bills. Paired with a light-colored finish, this is a genuine energy-efficiency choice, especially over dark asphalt roofs.
How much maintenance does a metal roof require compared to asphalt or cedar shake?
Interlock requires minimal maintenance—clearing gutters annually and inspecting fasteners every few years. Asphalt shingles need frequent repairs after 10-15 years: blown-off granules expose the base, cracking accelerates in Wisconsin's 81 freeze-thaw days per year, and algae growth thickens in humid summers. Cedar shake splits, curls, and rots within 15-20 years without regular staining and sealing. Concrete or clay tile can crack under freeze-thaw stress, requiring replacement and structural support due to weight. Interlock's aluminum is inert—it will not rot, split, or support algae growth. The Alunar coating has a 30-year warranty against fading and chalking. One solid deck and proper underlayment eliminate the loose-fastener and water-infiltration problems that drive asphalt maintenance costs upward throughout the roof's life.
Does Interlock Metal Roofing serve Eastmorland, Wisconsin and what experience do they have?
Yes, Interlock Metal Roofing has served the region since 2001—more than two decades of installations across Dane County and southern Wisconsin. Their experience spans the full profile range (Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, Mediterranean Tile) and includes retrofits over existing roofs, which are common in Eastmorland's climate where homeowners replace aging asphalt shingles without structural upgrades. They understand local code compliance (ICC-ES ESR-1790), wind and snow loading requirements, and the proper installation technique required to achieve the 120 mph wind warranty and UL 2218 Class 4 hail rating. Choosing a local, experienced installer ensures your system is installed to specification, your warranty is valid, and service support remains accessible if any issues arise during the roof's 50+ year lifespan.
