Review: August 20, 2024 Completion: August 13, 2024

From the start to finish, we loved their work and communication. There were no nails, metal bits, or excessive noise. They listened to all questions and addressed our concerns. They were careful to make no promise of a start date that they could not fulfill. The rain this year made it hard to predict! I would do a commercial for them free to endorse their work and product!

Hi Peter, we wanted to convey to you how much we love our new Interlock roof! Several of our neighbors and friends have said they do, too! We love the look of it, and are so impressed with how beautifully finished it is integrated into the flashing materials. The Interlock scheduling staff was great to work with, and we are so happy with Jessie and his Interlock installation team. They are true craftsmen, and part artists! We loved how they treated our home with respect, and were always willing to address any questions we had. We watched as they worked on items until they had them just right; when we asked about some areas of concern multiple members of the installation team converged on the item and came down to explain and even illustrate with photographs how it was addressed. Again, we couldn't be happier and are enjoying our Interlock roof!

To: Peter Brylinke My Interlock Shake style system was installed in June of 2019. We have now had it for an entire year and experienced the roof through all season, climate and weather conditions. Not only do we value the new look of our roof but the performance of the new roof has been exceptional. In the winter we have seen the snow pile up on it only to slide off as soon as the sun warms it enough. We have noticed a difference in the summers also with a cooler house. The roof has met all of our expectations and we are extremely happy with our decision to install this roof. Last summer when the workers were working on the roof, we were so pleased with the time and effort the workmen put into making sure all aspects of our roof were taken care of. They were courteous, hard working, respectful and considerate of our needs as homeowners. Carlos was instrumental in making sure that we were happy with every aspect of the work that was being done. In closing, we are very impressed with our roof and have recommended this same system to many people we know and many people who just " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by and ask about it. We feel that we have made a great decision in putting this system on our home. ">" alt="Minneapolis MN 55409 Interlock Roof" width="2560" height="1920" />

Dear Peter, Thank you for your help with the installation and warranty transfer of our interlock roof. We have since sold our house and had good feedback about our roof from potential buyers. Neighbors loved our new roof and we had people drive by and actually snap pictures of it! You were right that the new roof would help sell our home! Thanks for all your help!

Dear Peter, I had Interlock Roofing install my black slate roof in the fall one year ago, and I couldn’t be happier! My roof still looks like new, and really stands out in my neighborhood. My old asphalt shingle roof was leaking. I had to shovel it every time it snowed because of " title="ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">ice dams in my older 1950’s house. I have had no issues at all with my new Interlock roof. It was so nice only to have to shovel my driveway this winter and not worry about snow on the roof. It all just slid off in only a few days after each snowfall. Also, the team that you had out to install my roof was exceptional. I was very impressed with the quality of the team that installed my roof. They were all very polite and worked well together as a team. They worked very hard, and got the job done, and completed in less than three days. I’ve never had to have anyone come back to fix or touch anything up. Thank you for the great job the Interlock team did to replace my roof. I would recommend Interlock to anyone needing a new roof without hesitation!

Dear Peter, We remain delighted with our new Interlock roof. It’s now been through 2 Minnesota winters, a hailstorm, and several rain deluges and is still the top-notch performer that you said it would be. Thank you for your and Interlock’s integrity throughout the sale, installation, and service of our roofing project. We remain convinced that Interlock is indeed “the Midwest’s Best Roof”.

Dear Peter, I Wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my new Interlock roof. It looks terrific, and I am anticipating that I will never have to roof rake my roof again now that your product has been installed. My house is small, a 3-bedroom rambler, but the visual impact the Interlock roof has added makes it look like a castle! All of the contact I have had with your personnel, from yourself to the lead foreman on the job and the men doing the install was pleasant and professional. The cleanup after the job was done was great and it only took 1-1/2 days for a complete tear-off to complete the installation. Please use this letter as a personal recommendation for your company and your product.

Review: April 27, 2016 Completion: June 20, 2015

Dear Peter, Installing the Interlock roof on our home has completely transformed and improved our home’s appearance. The installation of the roof along with the greatly improved flashings have made a great difference. Because of that, our stucco was able to match our home so we look like new. An improvement I didn’t expect was the change in temperature of our second floor. Usually unbearable " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">hot on a 90-degree day. It’s now 10-15 degree cooler and livable. We also received a sizeable discount on our homeowners’ insurance because of the roof’s resistance to fire. We’re sure that having to “Never roof again” will help us sell our house should that be necessary. Thank you from two satisfied customers.

Review: January 28, 2016 Completion: December 28, 2015

My Interlock ">Shake Style Roof in Aged Copper color was installed between December 21st and December 31st. Snow has covered most of the house and garage since it was installed, so I haven’t been able to enjoy the new look yet, but during the installation and before the snow it was obvious it I going to look great. I am glad I had them put Interlock ">Shakes on my 8ft x 16ft hip-roofed storage shed as well. There are a lot of huge oak trees close to my house and they had caused the heavy cedar hand-split shakes to deteriorate from moss growing on them. I knew I needed a roof that would not have this problem in the future. I am a retired mechanical engineer and had built the house and garage myself. I studied the specs on steel, stone coated steel and several aluminum style shakes, before finally settling on the Interlock product. I believe it will prove to be a good choice. I was very impressed with the quality and design of all the types of flashings, ridge vent, and fasteners that were expertly installed. I truly expect this roof to last and look great for generations. I was also very impressed with the crew who did the work under Juan and Carlos’ direction. They worked tirelessly in some difficult weather conditions and short daylight hours. A number of minor changes were made on the fly with gutters, snow guards and roof penetrations and they were all executed precisely. They were very careful in making sure the roofs were protected overnight, on weekends and during the Christmas holiday. They did a great job of cleaning up the difficult mess made removing the decayed shakes. I guess I won’t know for sure if there are any problems until we get some heavy rains in the spring and summer, but as of now, I would be happy to show the roof and talk to any prospective clients that are considering the Interlock product.

Review: May 21, 2012 Completion: June 30, 2007

Dear Interlock Roofing, We are writing to share with you our experience with you, your employees, and the new roof. We built a brand new home and moved in January 1997. Within a few years, we were experiencing shingles that were curling and being removed by the wind. By the summer of 2007, it was imperative that we re-roof our home. Fortunately, we saw an ad in the local paper for your product. Below are just a few of the benefits we appreciate with the aluminum interlocking roofing shingles: The service and attention to our roofing project by Scott Bohnen from signing the contract to follow-up after the installation. The fact that the workforce followed safety procedures by wearing safety gear (we have a steep roof). Daily attention to our project until it was completed, about one week in total. Aesthetically pleasing roof, with numerous comments by friends and neighbors and those just passing by. EXCELLENT CURB APPEAL! The roof is quieter during rain storms than with regular asphalt shingles. We often have to verify that it is raining by visually looking or going outside. The roof reflects light so that we have experienced reduced air conditioning costs in the summer. In the winter, the heating bill is reduced as well and that may be in part to the aluminum shingle along with the polypropylene lining between the old and new shingles. No matter the reason, our heating and cooling bills are reduced. The fact that the roof is aluminum and it can be recycled at the end of its life expectancy. The 50-year, one time transferable, warranty. We could go on and on but we are very pleased with our roof and thankful that we will never have to re-roof again. Thank you.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Kegel Township

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Kegel Township, Minnesota. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Kegel Township.

How does a metal roof handle Minnesota's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?

Interlock's aluminum panels shed snow and ice reliably even through Kegel Township's average 101 cm of annual snow and approximately 81 freeze-thaw days per year. The smooth, slippery surface prevents ice dam formation, and four-way interlocking panels lock snow in place until it naturally slides off. Unlike asphalt, which becomes brittle in repeated freeze-thaw stress, aluminum's oxide layer maintains flexibility through countless temperature swings—no cracking, splitting, or curling. Snow guards are available if you prefer managed shedding.

Will a metal roof rust in Minnesota's wet climate?

No—Interlock roofs cannot rust because they're made from roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy, which contains no iron. Steel rusts; aluminum oxidizes, forming a self-healing protective layer that actually strengthens over time. Even when the oxide is scratched, it repairs itself automatically. With Kegel Township receiving about 839 mm of rain annually and exposure to freeze-thaw stress, this non-corrosive material means your roof stays structurally sound for decades without the degradation that affects steel or wood alternatives.

Is my house strong enough to support a metal roof without expensive structural work?

Almost certainly yes. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile weighs just 0.59 lb/sq ft—about 96% lighter than actual concrete or clay tile—so no structural reinforcement is needed even on older homes. Compare that to traditional tile's crushing load: you can install Interlock directly over most existing asphalt roofs without tearing off or reinforcing rafters. This light weight also means faster, simpler installation. Combined with Kegel Township's typical wind gusts around 101 km/h, the interlocking system's strength-to-weight ratio delivers unmatched durability without hidden costs.

Can a metal roof withstand Minnesota storms and high winds?

Yes. Interlock panels are warranted to resist sustained wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification. The four-way interlocking design locks each panel to its neighbors, distributing wind force evenly across the roof rather than stressing individual fasteners. In Kegel Township, where peak gusts reach around 101 km/h, this system provides a safety margin well beyond typical storm severity. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms installation compliance with the 2025 IBC/IRC building codes, so your insurance company and inspector will recognize the rating.

Do metal roofs get damaged by hail, and can I get an insurance discount?

Interlock metal roofing achieves UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest classification available—and the Guardian Warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This exceptional durability can qualify you for homeowner's insurance discounts in Minnesota. Unlike asphalt shingles that dent and degrade after hail, or wood shake that splits, aluminum's strength absorbs impact while maintaining its coating integrity. Given Kegel Township's climate variability, Class 4 certification offers both peace of mind and potential premium savings—ask your agent about discounts once installation is complete.

Will a metal roof keep my house cooler and lower energy bills?

energy-efficient Interlock colors reflect rather than absorb solar heat, with initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84—meaning less heat enters your attic. While Kegel Township averages about 3090 sunshine hours annually, even modest cooling gains compound over the roof's 50-year lifespan. The Cool Roof Rating Council verification confirms this reflectance; lighter-colored metal roofs measurably outperform dark asphalt. Lower cooling load reduces strain on air conditioning in summer months, translating directly to lower energy costs without sacrificing the profile or color you want.

How much upkeep does a metal roof actually need?

Interlock requires virtually no maintenance. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244 tested), so you won't wash or repaint. Unlike asphalt, which loses granules in rain and wind, or wood shake, which rots and splits in Kegel Township's 101 cm of annual snow and 81 freeze-thaw days, aluminum simply weathers cleanly. Two or three gutter cleanings per year is standard; that's it. CALGreen verification confirms reduced-maintenance status. This simplicity means no contractor visits, no repair bills, and genuine peace of mind across decades.

How long will a metal roof last, and what does the warranty actually cover?

Interlock comes with The Guardian Warranty—a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner covering rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. It's transferable once to the next owner with a 50-year term from completion, adding tangible resale value. Manufactured since 1998 and installed from coastal salt-air environments to Antarctica, Interlock panels routinely exceed 50 years in service. In Kegel Township's variable climate—839 mm rain, 101 cm snow, and repeated freeze-thaw stress—this warranty and proven track record mean your roof is genuinely the last one you'll buy.

Is a metal roof fire-safe, especially with nearby trees?

Interlock aluminum is non-combustible and available with Class A fire classification—the highest rating available. Aluminum cannot ignite or spread flame, so your roof actively protects your home regardless of surrounding vegetation or wildfire risk. The ICC-ES evaluation report ESR-1790 confirms fire performance under 2025 building codes. In Kegel Township's forested areas, this non-combustible advantage is peace of mind your family deserves. Combined with the roof's durability through 81 annual freeze-thaw cycles and 101 km/h gusts, a metal roof is a safety investment that works 365 days a year.

Is a metal roof worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt?

Metal roofing costs more upfront but becomes the last roof you buy. Asphalt shingles last 15–20 years; Interlock's lifetime limited warranty and proven 50+ year service mean one installation covers your ownership and adds 50 years of coverage to the next owner. Over a 50-year horizon, the total cost per year—material, labor, and zero maintenance—is substantially lower than replacing asphalt twice or three times. Factor in no tear-off disposal costs, potential insurance discounts from Class 4 hail rating, and measurable energy savings from energy-efficiency reflectance, and the math strongly favors metal. In Kegel Township's harsh climate—839 mm rain, 101 cm snow, gusts to 101 km/h—durability isn't a luxury; it's the smart financial choice.
