What our customers are saying:
From the start to finish, we loved their work and communication. There were no nails, metal bits, or excessive noise. They listened to all questions and addressed our concerns. They were careful to make no promise of a start date that they could not fulfill. The rain this year made it hard to predict! I would do a commercial for them free to endorse their work and product!
Hi Peter, we wanted to convey to you how much we love our new Interlock roof! Several of our neighbors and friends have said they do, too! We love the look of it, and are so impressed with how beautifully finished it is integrated into the flashing materials. The Interlock scheduling staff was great to work with, and we are so happy with Jessie and his Interlock installation team. They are true craftsmen, and part artists! We loved how they treated our home with respect, and were always willing to address any questions we had. We watched as they worked on items until they had them just right; when we asked about some areas of concern multiple members of the installation team converged on the item and came down to explain and even illustrate with photographs how it was addressed. Again, we couldn't be happier and are enjoying our Interlock roof!
To: Peter Brylinke My Interlock Shake style system was installed in June of 2019. We have now had it for an entire year and experienced the roof through all season, climate and weather conditions. Not only do we value the new look of our roof but the performance of the new roof has been exceptional. In the winter we have seen the snow pile up on it only to slide off as soon as the sun warms it enough. We have noticed a difference in the summers also with a cooler house. The roof has met all of our expectations and we are extremely happy with our decision to install this roof. Last summer when the workers were working on the roof, we were so pleased with the time and effort the workmen put into making sure all aspects of our roof were taken care of. They were courteous, hard working, respectful and considerate of our needs as homeowners. Carlos was instrumental in making sure that we were happy with every aspect of the work that was being done. In closing, we are very impressed with our roof and have recommended this same system to many people we know and many people who just " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">walk by and ask about it. We feel that we have made a great decision in putting this system on our home. ">" alt="Minneapolis MN 55409 Interlock Roof" width="2560" height="1920" />
Dear Peter, Thank you for your help with the installation and warranty transfer of our interlock roof. We have since sold our house and had good feedback about our roof from potential buyers. Neighbors loved our new roof and we had people drive by and actually snap pictures of it! You were right that the new roof would help sell our home! Thanks for all your help!
Dear Peter, I had Interlock Roofing install my black slate roof in the fall one year ago, and I couldn’t be happier! My roof still looks like new, and really stands out in my neighborhood. My old asphalt shingle roof was leaking. I had to shovel it every time it snowed because of " title="ice dams" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">ice dams in my older 1950’s house. I have had no issues at all with my new Interlock roof. It was so nice only to have to shovel my driveway this winter and not worry about snow on the roof. It all just slid off in only a few days after each snowfall. Also, the team that you had out to install my roof was exceptional. I was very impressed with the quality of the team that installed my roof. They were all very polite and worked well together as a team. They worked very hard, and got the job done, and completed in less than three days. I’ve never had to have anyone come back to fix or touch anything up. Thank you for the great job the Interlock team did to replace my roof. I would recommend Interlock to anyone needing a new roof without hesitation!
Dear Peter, We remain delighted with our new Interlock roof. It’s now been through 2 Minnesota winters, a hailstorm, and several rain deluges and is still the top-notch performer that you said it would be. Thank you for your and Interlock’s integrity throughout the sale, installation, and service of our roofing project. We remain convinced that Interlock is indeed “the Midwest’s Best Roof”.
Dear Peter, I Wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my new Interlock roof. It looks terrific, and I am anticipating that I will never have to roof rake my roof again now that your product has been installed. My house is small, a 3-bedroom rambler, but the visual impact the Interlock roof has added makes it look like a castle! All of the contact I have had with your personnel, from yourself to the lead foreman on the job and the men doing the install was pleasant and professional. The cleanup after the job was done was great and it only took 1-1/2 days for a complete tear-off to complete the installation. Please use this letter as a personal recommendation for your company and your product.
Dear Peter, Installing the Interlock roof on our home has completely transformed and improved our home’s appearance. The installation of the roof along with the greatly improved flashings have made a great difference. Because of that, our stucco was able to match our home so we look like new. An improvement I didn’t expect was the change in temperature of our second floor. Usually unbearable " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">hot on a 90-degree day. It’s now 10-15 degree cooler and livable. We also received a sizeable discount on our homeowners’ insurance because of the roof’s resistance to fire. We’re sure that having to “Never roof again” will help us sell our house should that be necessary. Thank you from two satisfied customers.
My Interlock ">Shake Style Roof in Aged Copper color was installed between December 21st and December 31st. Snow has covered most of the house and garage since it was installed, so I haven’t been able to enjoy the new look yet, but during the installation and before the snow it was obvious it I going to look great. I am glad I had them put Interlock ">Shakes on my 8ft x 16ft hip-roofed storage shed as well. There are a lot of huge oak trees close to my house and they had caused the heavy cedar hand-split shakes to deteriorate from moss growing on them. I knew I needed a roof that would not have this problem in the future. I am a retired mechanical engineer and had built the house and garage myself. I studied the specs on steel, stone coated steel and several aluminum style shakes, before finally settling on the Interlock product. I believe it will prove to be a good choice. I was very impressed with the quality and design of all the types of flashings, ridge vent, and fasteners that were expertly installed. I truly expect this roof to last and look great for generations. I was also very impressed with the crew who did the work under Juan and Carlos’ direction. They worked tirelessly in some difficult weather conditions and short daylight hours. A number of minor changes were made on the fly with gutters, snow guards and roof penetrations and they were all executed precisely. They were very careful in making sure the roofs were protected overnight, on weekends and during the Christmas holiday. They did a great job of cleaning up the difficult mess made removing the decayed shakes. I guess I won’t know for sure if there are any problems until we get some heavy rains in the spring and summer, but as of now, I would be happy to show the roof and talk to any prospective clients that are considering the Interlock product.
I love my new roof. It looks great and I know the house is in better shape without the heavy deteriorating asphalt shingles. My house is the only one on the block with no snow on the roof, and I can't wait to hear it in the rain
We are delighted with the workmanship and quality of our new roof. It has exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend an Interlock Roof to anyone looking to replace an old roof.
Dear Interlock Roofing, We are writing to share with you our experience with you, your employees, and the new roof. We built a brand new home and moved in January 1997. Within a few years, we were experiencing shingles that were curling and being removed by the wind. By the summer of 2007, it was imperative that we re-roof our home. Fortunately, we saw an ad in the local paper for your product. Below are just a few of the benefits we appreciate with the aluminum interlocking roofing shingles: The service and attention to our roofing project by Scott Bohnen from signing the contract to follow-up after the installation. The fact that the workforce followed safety procedures by wearing safety gear (we have a steep roof). Daily attention to our project until it was completed, about one week in total. Aesthetically pleasing roof, with numerous comments by friends and neighbors and those just passing by. EXCELLENT CURB APPEAL! The roof is quieter during rain storms than with regular asphalt shingles. We often have to verify that it is raining by visually looking or going outside. The roof reflects light so that we have experienced reduced air conditioning costs in the summer. In the winter, the heating bill is reduced as well and that may be in part to the aluminum shingle along with the polypropylene lining between the old and new shingles. No matter the reason, our heating and cooling bills are reduced. The fact that the roof is aluminum and it can be recycled at the end of its life expectancy. The 50-year, one time transferable, warranty. We could go on and on but we are very pleased with our roof and thankful that we will never have to re-roof again. Thank you.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Marysville Township
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Marysville Township, Minnesota. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Marysville Township.
Will a metal roof hold up to Minnesota's freeze-thaw cycles?
Yes—aluminum's oxide layer naturally self-heals when stressed, making it ideal for your climate. Marysville Township experiences about 81 freeze-thaw days per year, which causes traditional asphalt to crack and wood shakes to split. Interlock's roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy contains no iron, so it cannot rust even as moisture cycles in and out. The four-way interlocking panels also move slightly as temperature changes, reducing stress concentration at fasteners. This material has installed successfully from coastal salt-air environments to Antarctic research stations—if it survives Antarctica, your 7.9°C average and 97 km/h gusts will not degrade it.
How does metal roofing handle Marysville's snow loads?
Metal roofing sheds snow more efficiently than asphalt because its smooth, interlocked surface prevents buildup. You receive about 90 cm of snow annually in Wright County, and a metal roof's low friction allows it to slide naturally rather than accumulate ice dams. The Slate profile weighs only 0.41 lb/sq ft—roughly 96% lighter than traditional slate or ceramic tile—so your roof structure bears minimal additional load even during heavy snow years. Snow guards are optional and easily installed if you want to control runoff direction. The lightweight design also means no structural reinforcement is needed, unlike clay or concrete alternatives that would require expensive foundation work in older homes.
Can a metal roof withstand Minnesota wind gusts?
Interlock's four-way interlocking aluminum panels are warranted to resist winds up to 120 mph when installed to specification, well above Marysville's typical gust speeds of 97 km/h. The interlocking design distributes wind loads across multiple panel seams rather than stressing individual fasteners, which is why the system earned ICC-ES evaluation ESR-1790 under current IBC and IRC codes. This engineering also means your roof will not lift or separate during the spring and fall storms common to Wright County. Unlike traditional shingles that can be torn loose by sustained gusts, metal panels transfer wind pressure into the deck itself, giving you genuine structural protection rather than reliance on roofing nails.
Why doesn't aluminum roofing rust like steel does?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and weakens steel roofing. Instead, aluminum develops a thin, invisible oxide layer that actually protects the metal underneath. When scratched or exposed at a cut edge, this layer self-heals in air, sealing the damage automatically. Marysville receives about 748 mm of rain annually, and that moisture will never corrode Interlock's 3105-H24 and 3003-H24 aluminum alloy. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of every panel—extra insurance in high-moisture climates—and is warranted 30 years against chalking and fading. You are buying a roof that will not rust, rot, or corrode regardless of how many freeze-thaw cycles it endures.
What hail protection does Interlock metal roofing offer?
Interlock panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest classification available for any roofing material—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. This rating means the aluminum has been tested to withstand repeated impacts from steel balls dropped from significant heights without cracking or denting permanently. Many homeowners find that a Class 4 metal roof qualifies for insurance discounts because it eliminates the risk of puncture damage that asphalt shingles face during severe storms. With about 3163 hours of sunshine annually in Marysville, you also benefit from a roof that won't degrade from UV exposure the way traditional shingles do, reducing the compounding damage from sun and hail combined.
How much maintenance does a metal roof really need?
Metal roofing requires far less maintenance than asphalt, wood, or traditional tile. Interlock panels are CALGreen-verified for reduced maintenance, meaning they do not require yearly inspections, sealant reapplication, or moss treatment. Your 748 mm of annual rainfall will naturally rinse the roof clean; no pressure washing or granule replacement is needed. Unlike wood shakes that split and curl over Marysville's 81 freeze-thaw days annually, aluminum panels remain stable across temperature swings. Asphalt requires patching within 10–15 years; concrete tile requires regular mortar and grout maintenance. Interlock's Alunar finish is warranted 30 years against chalking, so you can expect decades without paint touch-ups. A simple gutter cleaning twice yearly and occasional debris removal is essentially all the upkeep required.
Is metal roofing worth the cost compared to asphalt shingles?
When calculated over a roof's complete lifespan, Interlock metal roofing typically costs less than three asphalt replacements. Asphalt lasts 15–25 years in your climate; you will tear off and landfill that material twice or three times before a metal roof reaches end of life. Each tear-off and disposal costs $1,500–$3,000 before the new roof price. Interlock's lifetime limited warranty (non-prorated for the original owner) means no coverage gaps, and the one-time transferable warranty—50 years for the next owner—protects your home's resale value. Marysville's 81 annual freeze-thaw days and 90 cm snow load accelerate asphalt aging; metal roofing resists this cycle entirely. Over 50 years, asphalt becomes a recurring expense, while metal becomes a once-and-done investment that actually improves your property value.
What does Interlock's lifetime warranty actually cover?
The Guardian Warranty is a lifetime limited, non-prorated material warranty for the original owner—it covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance with no time-based deductibles. Unlike prorated warranties that decline annually, yours remains full-strength for your ownership. The warranty is transferable once, giving the next owner 50 years of coverage from completion, which significantly enhances resale appeal in Wright County's active homeownership market. This breadth of coverage reflects the durability Interlock has proven since 1998 in Delta, BC, surviving coastal salt spray, arctic cold, heavy snow, and intense UV exposure. Your roof is backed by a company with 25+ years of manufacturing history, not a warranty promise from a roofing contractor who may not be in business in a decade.
Can you install metal roofing over my existing asphalt roof?
Yes, Interlock metal panels install directly over most existing asphalt roofs without tearoff, saving labor and landfill disposal costs. The extraordinary lightness of the material—the Shake profile weighs only 0.58 lb/sq ft, the Tile profile about 0.59 lb/sq ft—means no structural reinforcement is required, unlike heavy slate or ceramic tile that would need costly framing upgrades. A standard installation uses solid wood decking or existing roof sheathing, underlayment for weather protection, and the four-way interlocking panels fastened according to ESR-1790 specifications. The process typically takes 3–7 days depending on roof size and complexity, with minimal disruption to your home. Installation over an existing roof also adds an extra thermal layer, which helps manage the temperature swings from Marysville's 97 km/h gusts and 81 annual freeze-thaw cycles.
Will metal roofing keep my home cooler and cut energy bills?
Interlock's energy-efficient colors reduce cooling costs by reflecting heat rather than absorbing it as asphalt does. Materials like Aged Copper Penny achieve initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 and thermal emissivity of 0.84, both rated by the Cool Roof Rating Council. Marysville receives about 3163 hours of sunshine annually—more than many assume for Minnesota—and that radiation reflects off metal rather than being converted to attic heat. In summer, reflective metal roofing can lower attic temperatures 10–20°F compared to dark asphalt, reducing air-conditioning load. In winter, the emissivity of 0.84 means the roof radiates stored heat efficiently, lowering heating costs as well. Energy savings compound over decades, further reducing your true cost of ownership compared to asphalt replacements that lose their reflectance as granules wear away.
