Couldn’t be more pleased with our new Interlock metal roof. Finished in three days including tear off. Professional crew cleaned up after themselves each day. We’re especially enjoying the two solar tubes that add natural light to our home. Highly recommend Interlock.

Review: February 25, 2025 Completion: May 15, 2015

I continue to be pleased and happy with my Interlock metal roof after 10 years! People new to the neighborhood ask about it and are amazed to learn it's metal and not asphalt.

Review: February 7, 2025 Completion: November 30, 2024

Definitely worth the wait. We got our estimate and signed on the dotted line in late August, then got our new roof in mid-November. I was a little concerned because we were now into the "rainy" season. I needn't have been. From start to finish the job was done professionally, efficiently, and they even coordinated with the satellite dish person who relocated our dish for us. I actually contacted Interlock and asked for a yard sign to be placed out front because I wanted all my neighbors to know about our beautiful new roof. First rate and I have recommended them to others and will continue to do so.

Review: February 1, 2025 Completion: June 27, 2024

Our new metal roof from Interlock was installed in June. It has kept our house cooler in the hot weather. The roof is beautiful and makes our house stand out. The Installers were professional, efficient and friendly. There was virtually no debris left in the garden or anywhere. We love our new roof and recommend Interlock to anyone looking for a new roof that will last a long time.

Review: August 17, 2024 Completion: August 31, 2024

Interlock did a great job communicating and the team sent to install the roof was professional and fast. The roofing system looks great after install and held up to some heavy rains afterwards with no issues.

We got nothing but praises from our neighbors. The new roof looks shiny and beautiful after the rains. Faster start date after the sale. Positive experience.

Review: August 7, 2022 Completion: July 30, 2022

The initial construction phases were fine. But WRT our existing skylights, the crew totally dropped the ball, then avoided picking it up. We were told by the estimators that our existing main-roof skylights were high-quality Andersons in great condition and that they would be retained with the new roof. When we returned from our out of state trip we found holes covered with tarpaper where the skylights had been, and nobody from Interlock would own up to it, or give assurances as to when the holes would be filled. Someone failed to communicate with the crew, and it appeared they had scrapped our skylights. It took over two weeks and numerous phone calls before the new skylights were finally installed. Better and more timely communications with your customers when problems arise. It wasn't until we called Mr. Rasmussen that some action on the skylights issue got started.

Review: October 23, 2021 Completion: September 17, 2021

The roof is very expensive, though I didn't compare it with competitors. They could have done better troubleshooting on the patio waterproof membrane delivery. It was delayed. I had the roof put on because of a leak over the garage and they anticipated having to replace some of the plywood. Then the crew said that wasn't necessary. Now, however, it looks like there is some swale on the roof. I just can't assess the quality well. I wonder if some garage damage was not fixed. On the other hand, it might just be them having to have stepped on the panels.

Review: September 9, 2020 Completion: August 31, 2020

According to my tenant, there was some damage done to a light fixture during the project. They did not ask the tenant if everyone and everything was ok after the completed project so I think that could be something they could improve on. I replaced the broken light fixture myself. I think they could follow up after the completed project to ensure that everything went well and there were no issues.

Review: December 13, 2019 Completion: November 4, 2019

I don't know of anything to be improved. They did fine.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Felida

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Felida, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Felida.

Will a metal roof handle Felida's snow and ice buildup?

Yes—aluminum's smooth surface and light weight make it ideal for Clark County's typical 48 cm of annual snow. Because Interlock panels weigh only 0.41 to 0.59 lb/sq ft (compared to slate or tile at 10–15 lb/sq ft), your home's structure carries no additional load even during heavy accumulation. The four-way interlocking system prevents water infiltration as snow melts during Felida's approximately 36 freeze-thaw cycles each year, and optional snow guards can be added to manage slide-off in spring. You'll never worry about a roof buckling under winter weight the way wood shake or tile might.

Why does aluminum never rust, and why does that matter here?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the element that oxidizes and corrodes. Instead, aluminum forms a thin, self-healing oxide layer that actually protects the metal underneath; if scratched, it repairs itself naturally. In Felida's wet climate (about 1468 mm of rain annually), this matters enormously. Steel roofing requires constant paint maintenance to prevent rust; aluminum needs none. Combined with Interlock's Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon coating (warranted 30 years against chalking and fading), your roof sheds moisture and resists the damp, freeze-thaw environment without corrosion concerns.

Is a metal roof really cheaper than replacing asphalt shingles every 15 years?

An Interlock metal roof costs more upfront than asphalt but saves money over its lifespan because you buy it once. Asphalt shingles last 15–20 years in Felida's climate and then go to the landfill; you'll replace them 2–3 times in 50 years. Interlock's lifetime limited, non-prorated warranty (Guardian) covers material defects for the original owner and transfers 50 years to the next owner—no more re-roofs. You also avoid the maintenance, repair, and emergency leak calls asphalt demands. Current financing offers no payments or interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation, making the transition accessible now.

Can my house handle a metal roof, or will I need expensive structural work?

No structural reinforcement needed. Interlock's Mediterranean Tile profile, the heaviest at 0.59 lb/sq ft, weighs about 96% less than concrete or clay tile and installs directly over most existing roofs without reinforcement. Compare that to traditional tile at 10–15 lb/sq ft: your framing carries virtually no extra load. Felida receives about 48 cm of snow annually, but aluminum's lightness means even full winter accumulation poses no structural strain. Installation timeline is faster than slate or tile because no roof decking upgrades are required, and you can keep your existing roof on during installation—a major cost and convenience advantage.

How does a metal roof handle Felida's heavy rainfall without leaking?

Interlock's four-way interlocking panels create a watertight seal that channels rainfall safely off your roof; the system doesn't rely on sealants or gaskets that fail over time. With 1468 mm of annual rain in Clark County, this mechanical interlock design is critical—water cannot pool or find gaps where panels meet. Installation over a solid deck with underlayment (standard practice for Interlock) adds another barrier and keeps the roof as quiet as asphalt during rain. The ESR-1790 evaluation (reissued 2025) confirms compliance with IRC/IBC leak-prevention requirements, and the Guardian warranty covers water intrusion for the original owner's lifetime.

Do metal roofs blow off in high winds like Felida gets?

No. Interlock panels are warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph (193 km/h) when installed to specification, and Clark County's typical gusts reach about 116 km/h—well within that rating. The four-way interlocking system locks each panel to its neighbors horizontally and vertically, so wind cannot peel or lift the roof. A properly fastened Interlock installation on solid decking distributes wind load across the entire structure, not through individual fasteners that can pull loose. Even during spring and fall storms common to the Pacific Northwest, homeowners report no movement or noise—just the confidence that their roof won't fail where asphalt-shingled or wood-shaked roofs sometimes do.

Will an Interlock metal roof help reduce my cooling costs?

Yes, if you choose an energy-efficient color. Interlock offers profiles in reflective finishes with thermal emissivity up to 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55 (Aged Copper Penny)—meaning these colors reflect heat instead of absorbing it the way asphalt does. The Cool Roof Rating Council rating confirms this performance. In Felida's temperate climate (about 2957 annual sunshine hours and a mean of 11.5°C), a reflective roof reduces summer air-conditioning demand and extends the life of your HVAC system by lowering peak demand. Even modest cooling savings compound over decades, and the thermal efficiency never degrades—aluminum's properties remain constant, unlike fading asphalt.

Does hail damage a metal roof, and can I get insurance discounts?

Interlock is rated UL 2218 Class 4—the highest impact classification available—and the Guardian warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 means the roof withstands impacts that would dent or crack asphalt, wood, tile, or standard metal roofing. Many insurers recognize this durability and offer premium reductions for Class 4 roofs because claims are rare. While Felida's hail frequency is not extreme compared to plains states, the light weight (0.41–0.59 lb/sq ft) and aluminum's dent-resistance characteristics mean impact damage won't compromise structural integrity or lead to the cascade of leaks that follow hail damage to softer materials.

What profile options does Interlock offer, and which suits Felida homes?

Interlock manufactures five profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Standing Seam, and Mediterranean Tile. Each is a four-way interlocking aluminum panel, so all offer the same durability, lightweight construction, and lifetime warranty. Cedar Shingle and Shake profiles appeal to homes in forested Clark County neighborhoods; Standing Seam suits modern designs; Mediterranean Tile echoes colonial or contemporary architecture. All are available in multiple colors and are energy-efficiency-listable. Your choice is aesthetic—pick the profile that matches your home's character and neighborhood. Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc., serving the region since 1997, can advise which profile suits your home during an on-site consultation.

Is a metal roof actually better for the environment than asphalt?

Yes. Interlock aluminum is approximately 95% recyclable at end of life, whereas asphalt shingles go straight to landfill—and you'll discard them every 15–20 years. Over 50 years, that's 2–3 roofs decomposing in a landfill. Aluminum panels, by contrast, have permanent value; they can be recycled infinitely without degradation. Felida's 1468 mm annual rainfall and 48 cm of snow mean your roof experiences real weather stress, so a single, durable roof beats multiple replacements. Interlock's manufacturing in Delta, BC and ICC-ES ESR-1790 compliance also means no wasteful tear-off cycles. Choosing aluminum breaks the asphalt replacement treadmill and aligns with CALGreen sustainability goals.
