Couldn’t be more pleased with our new Interlock metal roof. Finished in three days including tear off. Professional crew cleaned up after themselves each day. We’re especially enjoying the two solar tubes that add natural light to our home. Highly recommend Interlock.

Review: February 25, 2025 Completion: May 15, 2015

I continue to be pleased and happy with my Interlock metal roof after 10 years! People new to the neighborhood ask about it and are amazed to learn it's metal and not asphalt.

Review: February 7, 2025 Completion: November 30, 2024

Definitely worth the wait. We got our estimate and signed on the dotted line in late August, then got our new roof in mid-November. I was a little concerned because we were now into the "rainy" season. I needn't have been. From start to finish the job was done professionally, efficiently, and they even coordinated with the satellite dish person who relocated our dish for us. I actually contacted Interlock and asked for a yard sign to be placed out front because I wanted all my neighbors to know about our beautiful new roof. First rate and I have recommended them to others and will continue to do so.

Review: February 1, 2025 Completion: June 27, 2024

Our new metal roof from Interlock was installed in June. It has kept our house cooler in the hot weather. The roof is beautiful and makes our house stand out. The Installers were professional, efficient and friendly. There was virtually no debris left in the garden or anywhere. We love our new roof and recommend Interlock to anyone looking for a new roof that will last a long time.

Review: August 17, 2024 Completion: August 31, 2024

Interlock did a great job communicating and the team sent to install the roof was professional and fast. The roofing system looks great after install and held up to some heavy rains afterwards with no issues.

Review: August 7, 2022 Completion: July 30, 2022

The initial construction phases were fine. But WRT our existing skylights, the crew totally dropped the ball, then avoided picking it up. We were told by the estimators that our existing main-roof skylights were high-quality Andersons in great condition and that they would be retained with the new roof. When we returned from our out of state trip we found holes covered with tarpaper where the skylights had been, and nobody from Interlock would own up to it, or give assurances as to when the holes would be filled. Someone failed to communicate with the crew, and it appeared they had scrapped our skylights. It took over two weeks and numerous phone calls before the new skylights were finally installed. Better and more timely communications with your customers when problems arise. It wasn't until we called Mr. Rasmussen that some action on the skylights issue got started.

Review: October 23, 2021 Completion: September 17, 2021

The roof is very expensive, though I didn't compare it with competitors. They could have done better troubleshooting on the patio waterproof membrane delivery. It was delayed. I had the roof put on because of a leak over the garage and they anticipated having to replace some of the plywood. Then the crew said that wasn't necessary. Now, however, it looks like there is some swale on the roof. I just can't assess the quality well. I wonder if some garage damage was not fixed. On the other hand, it might just be them having to have stepped on the panels.

Review: September 9, 2020 Completion: August 31, 2020

According to my tenant, there was some damage done to a light fixture during the project. They did not ask the tenant if everyone and everything was ok after the completed project so I think that could be something they could improve on. I replaced the broken light fixture myself. I think they could follow up after the completed project to ensure that everything went well and there were no issues.

Review: December 13, 2019 Completion: November 4, 2019

I don't know of anything to be improved. They did fine.

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Hazel Dell

The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Hazel Dell, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Hazel Dell.

How does a metal roof handle Hazel Dell's snow and ice, and do I need snow guards?

Aluminum metal roofing sheds snow effectively because of its smooth, sloped surface and low friction—the four-way interlocking panels create a unified plane that resists ice dam formation. With about 48 cm of snow annually and roughly 36 freeze-thaw days per year in Hazel Dell, you're in a climate where repeated thawing and refreezing stresses traditional roofs; aluminum's non-corrosive properties mean it won't degrade from that cycling. Snow guards are optional and depend on roof pitch and local codes—your Interlock installer will assess whether they're needed for your home's geometry and safety profile.

Why can't an aluminum metal roof rust, and why does that matter in the Pacific Northwest?

Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron—the metal forms a self-healing oxide layer that protects it from moisture and salt air without requiring paint or sealers. This matters in the PNW because Hazel Dell's 1468 mm of annual rainfall and proximity to coastal conditions create an environment where steel roofs corrode and traditional materials absorb water and rot. Your Interlock roof is built from roofing-grade 3105-H24 aluminum alloy, and its Alunar fluorocarbon finish is applied to both sides of every panel—extra insurance against the wet climate you live in. Once installed, it simply won't deteriorate from moisture exposure.

Will a metal roof blow off in Hazel Dell's wind storms?

No—Interlock's four-way interlocking panel design and installation to spec warrant resistance to wind speeds up to 120 mph, well above Hazel Dell's typical gusts of 116 km/h (72 mph). The panels lock together on all four sides, distributing wind load across the entire roof plane rather than relying on fasteners alone. Clark County's seasonal wind patterns, especially during winter and spring, are well within that safety margin, and the warranty covers wind damage if installation follows Interlock's specifications. Your Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) installer, serving the region since 1997, knows exactly how to secure panels for local conditions.

Does hail damage a metal roof, and could it lower my insurance premiums?

Interlock metal roofing carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the Guardian warranty even covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. Class 4 means the roof survives repeated impacts from steel balls dropped from heights that would destroy asphalt or wood. Hazel Dell's climate doesn't feature frequent severe hail, but when it occurs, your metal roof's proven impact resistance often qualifies you for insurance discounts because insurers recognize the reduced likelihood of claims. Ask your agent about metal roof discounts when you're comparing policies; many carriers offer them based on impact rating alone.

Is a metal roof worth the higher upfront cost compared to asphalt?

The upfront cost of metal roofing is higher than asphalt, but you're buying your last roof: the Guardian warranty covers the original owner for life on material defects—rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, and impact loss—and transfers once to the next owner with 50 years remaining. An asphalt roof in Hazel Dell's wet climate typically lasts 15–20 years and then requires tear-off, dumpster fees, and complete replacement. Over 50 years, one metal roof replaces 2–3 asphalt roofs, avoiding landfill costs and labor. With the current promotion (no payments, no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off), the math shifts decisively in metal's favor for anyone planning to stay or sell within a decade.

How long will my metal roof last, and what does the warranty actually cover?

Interlock aluminum roofs are engineered to last indefinitely—the material itself doesn't degrade—and the Guardian warranty is nontraditional: it's a lifetime limited warranty for the original owner (not prorated, meaning no cost-sharing), covering material defects like rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance. When you sell, it transfers once to the next owner with 50 years remaining from completion. The Alunar fluorocarbon finish is separately warranted for 30 years against chalking and fading (ASTM D4214/D2244 measured). Because your roof sheds Hazel Dell's 1468 mm of annual rainfall and resists freeze-thaw damage from 36 freeze-thaw cycles yearly, you're protected against the exact conditions that age traditional roofing prematurely.

How much maintenance does a metal roof need compared to asphalt or wood shakes?

Metal roofing requires virtually no maintenance: no patching, no raking of moss or debris, no seasonal inspections for rot or curling. Unlike asphalt, it won't shed granules into gutters or degrade from UV exposure. Unlike wood shakes, it won't split, warp, or need fungicide treatment in the Pacific Northwest's damp climate. Your gutters will stay cleaner because metal's smooth surface sheds leaves and needles rather than trapping them like asphalt. With about 2957 sunshine hours per year in Hazel Dell, UV stress is lower than in southern climates, but metal still outlasts wood or asphalt with zero-maintenance performance. Occasional gutter cleaning is your only real task—the roof itself requires nothing.

How long does installation take, and can you install over my existing roof?

Installation timeline varies by roof size and complexity, typically 2–5 days for a single-family home; your Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) installer will provide a detailed schedule. One major advantage of aluminum's weight—the Shingle profile installs at just 0.41 lb/sq ft, the Slate also around 0.41 lb/sq ft, the Mediterranean Tile at 0.59 lb/sq ft, roughly 96% lighter than concrete or clay tile—is that most homes can install the new roof directly over existing shingles without structural reinforcement. This eliminates tear-off costs, dumpster fees, and landfill impact. Your installer will assess your existing deck and recommend whether an overlay or full tear-off makes sense for your home; either way, the lightweight aluminum system is economical.

Will a metal roof keep my home cooler and lower my energy bills?

Metal roofing with reflective coatings reduces cooling costs by bouncing heat away rather than absorbing it like asphalt. Interlock's energy-efficient colors offer thermal emissivity of 0.84 and initial solar reflectance up to 0.55, particularly in Aged Copper Penny and similar cool finishes (Cool Roof Rating Council rated). In Hazel Dell, where average temperature is about 11.5°C and you receive roughly 2957 sunshine hours annually, energy savings are most noticeable during summer highs and sunny weeks; energy-efficiency products typically cut cooling loads by 10–20% compared to dark asphalt. The reflective benefit compounds over decades—unlike asphalt, which darkens and loses reflectance, aluminum's Alunar finish maintains its performance under the spec for 30 years, so savings persist.

Who installs Interlock roofing in Hazel Dell, and how long have they been in business?

Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) Inc. serves Hazel Dell and the entire Clark County region and has been installing metal roofing since 1997—longer than the product's residential mainstream presence. That means your installer understands PNW conditions intimately: how to handle Hazel Dell's 1468 mm of annual rain, manage the 36 freeze-thaw cycles typical of the region, and design panels to resist gusts reaching 116 km/h. They're not learning; they're experienced. Interlock has manufactured its panels in Delta, BC since 1998 and has installed them from coastal salt-air homes to an Antarctic research station, so regional expertise runs deep. Contact Interlock Metal Roofing (PNW) directly for a consultation; the current promotion offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027, or 10% off installation.
