Interlock® Aluminum Roofing — all-climates performance specs for Meadow Glade, Washington
| Spec / Rating | Climate / Risk Factor + What It Solves |
|---|---|
| Wind resistance: 120+ mph (193+ kph) | Extreme wind, hurricanes, storm uplift: full interlocking attachment helps prevent blow-offs, edge lifting, and panel loss in high-gust events. |
| Fire rating: Class A (with proper assembly) | Wildfire, embers, radiant heat, chimney sparks: non-combustible roof assembly provides the highest residential fire protection rating. |
| Hail resistance: UL 2218 Class 4 | Hail and impact debris: highest impact classification; resists cracking, splitting, and surface loss common with asphalt under hail strikes. |
| Snow & ice performance: interlocking, shedding profile | Heavy snow, freeze-thaw, ice dams: smooth aluminum sheds snow efficiently and the interlocking design helps block water intrusion when melt-refreeze cycles occur. (Final snow-load capacity depends on roof structure and local code.) |
| Corrosion resistance: aluminum (won’t rust) | Salt air, coastal humidity, wet climates: aluminum naturally resists rust and corrosion, reducing long-term failure risk in marine or high-moisture environments. |
| Heat / UV durability: baked-on coating system | High heat, intense sun, thermal cycling: coatings resist UV breakdown and temperature-swing fatigue, slowing fading and surface degradation. |
| Moss / algae resistance: smooth coated surface | Wet shade, organic growth: low-porosity metal surface gives moss/algae less to grip, reducing staining and maintenance. |
| Material: heavy-gauge aluminum roof profiles (Slate / Shake / Shingle / Tile / Standing Seam) | All-season structural stability: lightweight, dent-resistant metal system stays stable through large hot-cold swings and severe weather. |
| Expected lifespan: 50+ years | Long-term durability across climates: avoids re-roof cycles typical of shorter-life materials, even in high-stress environments. |
| Warranty: Lifetime-Limited, non-prorated + 50-year transferable | Lifetime protection + resale value: guarantees long-term material confidence and transfers to future owners. |

What our customers are saying:
Prompt service and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Dear Interlock Industries, We knew that someday we would need a new roof. We had been considering various roofing materials as we have a concern about a plaguing issue of a moss growth problem as a result of fir needle build up. We had to go on the our roof at least one to two times and sometimes more often a month to blow off the roof as the needles would collect everywhere and build up in the roof valleys; plus the additional time necessary to remove the moss. We spent way too much time on the roof. We happened to see the Interlock aluminum roof system and after speaking with staff and our friends and doing some research, we made the decision to have your roof system installed this past fall. We want to let you know that we are happy with the product as well as the style we selected. We had the deep charcoal grey " data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">slate profile installed on our traditional style home. It looks great! Many of the neighbors have commented on how nice it looks. They first thought it would be too commercial looking, but once they saw the end product they were impressed. All the staff from Robin at the Clark County Fair exhibitors’ booth, Mike Rasmussen, Divisional Sales Manager, as well the roof installers were very professional and good in explaining the product, what was involved in the installation, as well as being responsive and open to addressing our questions, comments and concerns. Once the product was ready to be delivered the installation date was confirmed. The installers arrived early on that date and started in on the job. They were diligent on the installation. They did clean up at the end of each day. They were open and encouraged questions and any comments we had. If there was something we noticed that was not quite right they would check and correct. They were as concerned as we were about a quality job done right. The roof does well as the valleys do not collect needles anymore. The only concern/complaint is that the needles do get caught in the interlock sections particularly when it is raining and windy making it difficult to remove them. We have had a lot of rain since the roof was installed so we have not had a chance to really remove the needles. Hopefully once the roof and needles dry out; it will be easier to remove them. But it does appear that we will not have to go on the roof nearly as much as in the past.
Customer Satisfaction 5/5 The installers did an excellent job and worked very hard.
We have had our interlock roof on for over 15 years. Still looks great no problems. We are glad that we don't have to worry about a roof anymore. They stand behind warranty.
We loved the crew that installed our roof. They were quick and polite and very very tidy. We never found a single stray water bottle or can or chip bag. Well worth it. Plus, lifetime guarantee?!? Yes ma’am!

Metal Roofing FAQs for Homeowners in Meadow Glade
The following metal roofing FAQs are designed specifically for homeowners in Meadow Glade, Washington. Whether you are building a new home or replacing an existing roof, understanding how roofing materials perform in local weather conditions is essential. From wind and storm protection to fire resistance, hail impact, snow loads, and coastal moisture exposure, Interlock’s Lifetime Aluminum Roofing System is engineered to provide long-term durability, energy efficiency, and peace of mind in Meadow Glade.
How does a metal roof handle Meadow Glade's heavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles?
Metal roofing sheds snow and ice far more reliably than asphalt because aluminum's smooth surface and thermal properties prevent ice dams from forming. With about 120 cm of snow per year and roughly 22 freeze-thaw days in Clark County, your roof faces constant expansion and contraction—aluminum flexes without cracking or curling the way asphalt does. Four-way interlocking panels stay watertight through the wet season (2163 mm annual rainfall) because they overlap on all sides, and the lightweight design means no structural stress from snow load accumulation.
Does a metal roof leak in heavy rain like Meadow Glade gets?
No—the four-way interlocking panel system is engineered to shed water in any volume and direction. Meadow Glade averages over 2100 mm of rain yearly, and the overlapping seams mean water cannot pool or find a way into your home. The system is tested to ICC-ES ESR-1790 standards (IBC/IRC) for water resistance and performs identically whether rain falls vertically or driven at an angle during gusts up to 115 km/h. Installed over solid decking with underlayment, it's as leak-proof as any roofing material on the market.
Will a metal roof rust over time in Washington's wet climate?
Aluminum cannot rust because it contains no iron. Instead, it forms a microscopically thin oxide layer that protects it from moisture—and when scratched, that layer self-heals. Your roof faces 2163 mm of annual rain and frequent coastal-air-like humidity, yet the roofing-grade 3105-H24 / 3003-H24 aluminum alloy will not corrode. The Alunar 70% PVDF fluorocarbon finish applied to both sides adds 30 years of warranty protection against chalking and fading, making this the last roof material that will survive Clark County's wet winters without degrading.
Can a metal roof withstand Meadow Glade wind gusts?
Yes—the roof is warranted to resist wind speeds up to 120 mph when installed to specification. Regional gusts reach about 115 km/h, well within the design margin. The four-way interlocking panels lock together on all edges, preventing wind from lifting or separating individual panels. Unlike asphalt shingles that can peel in heavy wind, these panels move as one integrated system. Meadow Glade's typical daily winds average 14 km/h, so your roof will remain secure during spring and winter storms without racking or movement.
How does a metal roof perform in hail, and could it lower my insurance?
Interlock Metal Roofing holds UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating—the highest available—and the warranty covers perforation from hailstones up to 1.5 inches. That level of durability often qualifies homeowners for insurance discounts because the roof significantly reduces claim risk. While Meadow Glade's recorded hail events are infrequent given 2764 annual sunshine hours, the Class 4 rating means you're protected against the worst-case impact damage. Check with your insurer; many offer premium reductions for Class 4 metal roofing that you'll never recover with standard asphalt.
Is a metal roof light enough to install over my existing roof?
Yes—the Slate profile installs at only 0.41 lb/sq ft, while the Mediterranean Tile (which mimics heavy clay or concrete) weighs just 0.59 lb/sq ft and is about 96% lighter than actual tile. No structural reinforcement is needed. Most homes in Meadow Glade can accept a metal roof directly over existing asphalt without additional framing or load-bearing upgrades, saving thousands in demolition and structural work. You avoid the labor cost and landfill impact of tearing off the old roof, and the job completes faster because your deck doesn't need inspection or repair for added weight.
What warranty comes with Interlock metal roofing?
The Guardian lifetime limited warranty covers rusting, rotting, splitting, cracking, curling, and loss of impact resistance for the original owner with zero prorated deductions—you're covered for the full lifespan. If you sell, the warranty transfers once and gives the next owner 50 years of protection from completion. That's genuine security in a region with 22 freeze-thaw days per year and 2163 mm of moisture. Compare that to asphalt, which typically lasts 15–20 years in Meadow Glade's climate. A single transferable warranty means you're installing a roof that will outlast you and benefit the next owner.
Is metal roofing worth the upfront cost compared to asphalt?
Over the roof's full life, metal roofing is significantly cheaper. Asphalt lasts 15–20 years in a climate with 120 cm of snow, 2163 mm rain, and 22 freeze-thaw cycles annually—meaning you'll replace it twice or more before a metal roof needs attention. Meadow Glade's current promotion offers no payments and no interest until Spring 2027 or 10% off installation, reducing the initial gap. Add in zero maintenance costs, no algae treatment, no roof coatings, and potential insurance discounts from the Class 4 impact rating, and metal roofing becomes the financially smarter last roof you'll buy.
How much maintenance does a metal roof require?
Almost none. Unlike asphalt, which requires periodic algae treatment, coating reapplication, and shingle replacement, aluminum metal roofing is maintenance-free. Rain (2163 mm yearly) naturally cleans the surface; no moss or algae grows on smooth, sloped aluminum. You won't pressure-wash, re-coat, or patch individual panels. The Alunar finish is warranted 30 years against fading and chalking, so color remains stable through 2764 sunshine hours annually. Compare this to wood shake, which splits and rots in Meadow Glade's freeze-thaw cycle, or clay tile, which cracks and leaks. CALGreen verification confirms reduced maintenance burden versus traditional roofing.
Who installs Interlock metal roofing in Meadow Glade, Washington?
